The Infected Outbreak scales in Dying Light 2 with XP bonuses and improved loot

The city stands…for now. In Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the Infected Outbreak enters its second phase following a first wave that Survivors successfully managed to contain. But the threat isn’t gone—it’s evolving.
After dominating the initial horde, the community has earned a key tactical advantage to prepare for what's coming. During this active phase, players will enjoy a +50% XP boost, ranking up faster and making it easier to unlock the skills required to face the rising difficulty.
Additionally, Outbreak Biters and Virals now drop weapons, shifting the flow of combat and looting. The chance to scavenge gear directly from the infected adds a new layer of dynamism to every encounter, reinforcing the need to sweep every area after a fight.
The in-game economy is also adjusting during this special window: a 25% discount off all traders and 50% off Jai’s ammo, making it easier to stock up before the next escalation. These incentives are designed to get you fully geared up before the situation turns even more critical.
These perks are only available during Week 2 of the event. The warning is clear: the scales are tipping, and the real fight has only just begun.
You survived the first wave. Now the question is inevitable: when the Outbreak evolves and the city becomes even deadlier, will you be ready to withstand the next horde?
