VALORANT Champions 2023 Recap

And thus the 2023 season of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) is concluded. Sixteen of the best teams battled for international glory in Los Angeles, but in the end only one was able to lift the Champions trophy: Evil Geniuses (EG).

Off to a poor start to the season going 1-4 in the VCT Americas regular season, the team won three of their next four games to clinch the playoffs. Then they got their place in the Tokyo Masters by finishing third. Coming into that tournament as the underdogs, these geniuses defied all expectations to reach the Grand Final, where they lost to EMEA's Fnatic 3-0. The champions gave them the opportunity to go one step further, and that's exactly what they did.
