The time has come to celebrate the anniversary of the US Air Force

The history of American aviation dates back to the early 20th century, but the US Air Force did not become an independent branch of the Armed Forces until after World War II, on September 18, 1947.

Air Force Day was established that same year, but it was only celebrated for a couple of years, because in 1949 Armed Forces Day was established, uniting the celebrations of all branches of the US military.
