Apex Legends Gets Chromed Up With Cyberpunk Event, Night City E-District and Mythic Skippy Alternator

Apex Legends is heading straight into Night City with a Cyberpunk crossover event that transforms E-District, adds Cyberware-driven chaos to Wildcard and introduces the Mythic Skippy Alternator.

The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event runs from July 14 to August 4, bringing the language, style and danger of Night City into the Outlands. Respawn is not treating this as a simple cosmetic drop: the event includes a Night City makeover for E-District, new Cyberware mods, Cyberpsychosis mechanics, Cyberpunk-themed skins, a Reward Shop and a limited-time collection.

In short, the Legends are getting chromed up — and the consequences are part of the fun.

Night City takes over E-District in Wildcard

The main event setting is Night City E-District, a Cyberpunk-inspired takeover of Apex Legends’ E-District map for the Wildcard mode.

For the duration of the event, E-District is being reworked with towering neon skyboxes, holographic koi, glitched-out signage and a visual identity designed to make the map feel like Night City has leaked directly into the Apex universe.

That setting choice makes sense. E-District already had a dense, urban, high-tech structure compared to many Apex maps, so the Cyberpunk layer feels like a natural extension rather than a forced crossover. The event pushes the space further into neon dystopia, turning it into a more aggressive, hacked version of itself.

Wildcard is also the right environment for the event’s gameplay modifiers. Rather than changing the entire core experience, the crossover uses a more experimental mode to introduce Cyberware and Cyberpsychosis without permanently rewriting Apex’s standard rules.

Cyberware mods change how fights unfold

The event introduces two new Cyberware mods: Sandevistan and Blackwall Breach.

Sandevistan is built around speed. It gives players quick dashes in any direction and can recharge shields, with the option to chain two dashes before touching the ground. That creates obvious uses for both aggression and escape: closing a gap, breaking an enemy’s angle, dodging pressure or disappearing from a bad position before a squad can confirm the knock.

Blackwall Breach is more disruptive. It lets players phase into the Net to reposition, then return with an EMP effect that cracks enemy shields and tracks their location.

Together, the two mods give the event a strong Cyberpunk identity without simply reskinning existing Apex abilities. One is about velocity and momentum. The other is about information, displacement and shield disruption.

That should make fights faster and harder to read, especially in dense E-District spaces where a single reposition can shift an engagement instantly.

Cyberpsychosis adds a risk to every push

The Cyberware system also comes with a downside: Cyberpsychosis.

Each time players use Cyberware, their Cyberware Capacity increases. Push too far, and the Legend goes full Cyberpsycho. In that state, players gain high movement speed and devastating melee damage, but lose access to weapons, abilities, shields and ordnance.

That is a sharp trade-off.

Cyberpsychosis can turn a player into a terrifying close-range threat, but it also strips away many of the tools that normally keep a Legend alive. The result is a temporary power spike with a real vulnerability attached. Used well, it could create chaotic highlight moments. Used badly, it could get a player deleted before they can turn that melee pressure into a down.

Players can manage the system with Immunoblocker Syringes found across the map or Immunoblocker Caches that wipe the meter clean. That means Cyberware is not just a cooldown to spam. Players need to decide when to push their chrome and when to back off before the system turns against them.

Skippy arrives as a Mythic Alternator

The most memorable weapon addition is the Mythic Skippy Alternator.

Cyberpunk fans will recognise Skippy immediately: the talking smart gun with modes such as Puppy Loving Pacifist and Stone Cold Killer. In Apex Legends, Skippy becomes a Mythic Alternator, complete with personality, upgrade paths and cosmetic progression.

Players can hunt down the weapon during the event and upgrade it with Exotic Shards to unlock new visuals, ordnance skins and knock effects.

That makes Skippy more than a simple weapon skin. The voice-driven personality is part of the appeal, and the upgrade structure gives collectors another reason to chase the event’s premium weapon content.

New Legend and weapon skins bring the crossover style into the roster

The event includes 8 Legend skins for Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash and Gibraltar.

There are also 8 weapon skins for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301 and Kraber.

Respawn is also opening a limited-time Cyberpunk Collection in the Store tab from July 14 to August 18, giving players an extended window to pick up themed cosmetics beyond the event’s main gameplay period.

The collection includes Cyberpunk-styled looks for several Legends, with the official article showing skins inspired by characters and factions from the Cyberpunk universe. Players interested in specific cosmetics should check the Store once the event begins, since bundle structure, pricing and individual item availability can vary.

Eddies power the Reward Shop

The event also includes a Reward Shop built around Eddies, the currency players can earn during the event.

The official event article confirms that the Reward Shop includes items such as an Arasaka Epic Valkyrie Skin and a Kang-Tao Epic Mirage Skin, with more rewards available during the event period.

That gives players a progression path even if they are not primarily chasing the premium collection. As always with limited-time events, the practical advice is simple: earn the event currency early, check the shop rotation and avoid waiting until the final days if there is a specific reward you want.

Apex Legends gets one of its loudest crossovers yet

The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event is not subtle, and it is better for it.

Night City E-District gives the map a fresh identity. Cyberware adds high-speed combat options. Cyberpsychosis makes overuse dangerous. Skippy turns the Alternator into a talking Mythic weapon with a distinct Cyberpunk personality. And the event’s cosmetics bring enough visual chrome to make the crossover feel like more than a branded store refresh.

The event runs from July 14 to August 4, while the Cyberpunk Collection remains available until August 18.
