Brawlhalla Back to School 2026 brings Valedictorian Loki, a first-ever event Podium and returning classroom cosmetics

Brawlhalla is heading back to class with the return of its annual Back to School event, and the 2026 edition is considerably more than another rotation of familiar seasonal cosmetics. Launching on August 19 as part of Patch 10.10, Back to School 2026 introduces the new earnable Valedictorian Loki Skin as its Event Center grand prize, the Side Sig PhD Title, four new earnable Emoji Skins, Audrey the 3rd Sidekick and, for the first time in the event’s history, a dedicated Back to School Podium. Blue Mammoth Games has showcased the celebration in the new Back to School 2026 Event Reveal Trailer, giving players a look at the school-themed cosmetics and rewards arriving with the event.

The seasonal celebration also brings back a large portion of Brawlhalla’s previous Back to School collection, including 16 returning Legend Skins, Home Team Colors, Sidekicks, Avatars, Emoji Skins and the Home Team Cheer Emote. The familiar color unlock challenge returns in a revised form through Home Team Reunion Colors, while three new store bundles provide alternative ways to collect groups of event cosmetics. Event Center Tickets can be earned until September 9, after which players receive an additional week to spend the Tickets they have already collected or use Mammoth Coins before the event shop closes.

Back to School 2026 arrives during an unusually busy update for Brawlhalla. Patch 10.10 also introduces the new Legend duo Qinghua & Baobao, the CMYK Color Scheme, new Crystalforged and Guild Weapon Skin sets and a significant balance pass. The seasonal event may be the most immediately familiar part of the patch, but this year Blue Mammoth Games has given returning players considerably more to chase than a simple repeat of the previous catalogue.

Valedictorian Loki graduates at the top of the Back to School 2026 reward list

The most important new reward is Valedictorian Loki, which serves as the grand prize of the Back to School 2026 Event Center. Rather than placing the new skin exclusively inside Mallhalla as a standard Mammoth Coin purchase, Blue Mammoth Games has made it part of the event’s earnable progression, giving players a clear seasonal objective to work toward during the celebration.

The theme is a natural fit for Loki’s normally chaotic personality. Back to School has traditionally reimagined Brawlhalla Legends as students, teachers, musicians, athletes and other exaggerated school archetypes, and turning Loki into a valedictorian plays directly with that format. More importantly from a progression perspective, making the headline skin earnable gives the Event Center a stronger purpose than simply acting as a temporary storefront. Players have a recognizable premium-style cosmetic at the end of the seasonal progression rather than only smaller accessories and currencies.

Valedictorian Loki is accompanied by several additional Event Center rewards. Players can earn four Emoji Skins — Brawldog 1 More, Professor Laugh, Rocker Lookin’ Good and Kindergarten Wow — alongside Audrey the 3rd, a new Sidekick, and the Side Sig PhD Title. Together, they give the 2026 Event Center a broader selection of reward types instead of concentrating progression around a single skin.

The Side Sig PhD Title is particularly characteristic of Brawlhalla’s sense of humor. Signature attacks, commonly shortened to “Sigs” by the community, are among the game’s fundamental combat tools, so turning Side Sig usage into an imaginary academic qualification is exactly the kind of joke that fits a school-themed event built around fighting-game terminology.

Back to School gets its first dedicated Podium

The other major addition is Protagonist’s Desk, the first Podium ever created specifically for a Back to School event. Previous editions have built their identity primarily around skins, colors and smaller cosmetic items, so adding a dedicated Podium expands the event into an area of customization it had never previously covered.

The Podium can be obtained through Mallhalla and is also included in the new Back to School ’26 Mega Bundle, which packages it alongside eight Back to School Legend Skins and additional school-themed items. Blue Mammoth explicitly describes Protagonist’s Desk as the first Back to School Podium, making it one of the 2026 celebration’s genuinely new additions rather than another returning cosmetic from the seasonal archive.

That distinction matters for veteran players. Annual Brawlhalla events naturally rely heavily on returning content because much of their appeal comes from allowing newer players to obtain cosmetics they missed in previous years. The downside is that longtime participants can eventually reach a point where they already own most of what returns. Adding an entirely new Podium alongside an earnable Loki skin gives those players something specific to the 2026 edition.

It also helps the event feel more complete visually. Back to School has accumulated enough Legend Skins, colors, Sidekicks, Avatars and emotes over the years to establish a recognizable seasonal aesthetic. A dedicated Podium gives players another way to extend that theme into their match presentation rather than limiting it to whichever Legend they select.

Home Team Reunion Colors reward players for using a wide roster

The familiar Home Team palette also returns through Home Team Reunion Colors, but unlocking it requires players to actively use different Legends. Winning a matchmade game with a particular Legend unlocks the color for that character, while earning the color on 45 different Legends permanently unlocks Home Team Reunion Colors for all current and future Legends. Progress can be tracked directly through the Event Center.

This remains one of the more effective structures Brawlhalla uses for seasonal color schemes because it pushes players outside their normal Legend pool without requiring victory conditions that are excessively complicated. Someone who primarily plays only two or three characters can unlock the color for those mains relatively quickly, while completionists have a much larger account-wide goal to pursue.

The reward for reaching 45 victories is also more valuable than simply unlocking another batch of individual colors. Because the all-Legends unlock applies to future Legends as well, finishing the challenge effectively turns Home Team Reunion into a permanent account-wide color scheme.

That gives the event progression a useful split between short-term and long-term objectives. Casual players can secure the color on their favorite characters without grinding through much of the roster, while dedicated players have a reason to experiment with dozens of Legends before the event ends. It also aligns well with the Back to School theme: instead of repeatedly bringing the same fighter to class, the challenge asks players to work their way through a large portion of Brawlhalla’s cast.

Sixteen returning skins bring Brawlhalla’s old school back to Mallhalla

Back to School 2026 also restores a large archive of previous seasonal cosmetics. Sixteen returning Legend Skins are coming back to Mallhalla, with Blue Mammoth specifically highlighting First Day Asuri, Rocker Volkov, Brawldog Mordex and Band Kid Yumiko among the returning selection.

The event store also brings back Home Team Colors for every Legend, two Sidekicks, two Avatars, seven Emoji Skins and the Home Team Cheer Emote. Players can identify Back to School content in Mallhalla by following the apple markers used to distinguish the seasonal inventory.

This returning catalogue is important because Brawlhalla’s annual events effectively function as rotating windows for older cosmetics. A player who started after a previous Back to School celebration does not need to rely on those items being permanently available throughout the year; instead, the seasonal return provides another opportunity to build the collection when the event comes back around.

For established players, however, the more relevant additions are likely to be Valedictorian Loki, the new Event Center cosmetics and Protagonist’s Desk. The combination of returning and original rewards allows the event to serve two audiences simultaneously: newer players can catch up on years of school-themed cosmetics, while veterans still have exclusive 2026 additions worth pursuing.

Three new bundles offer faster routes through the school catalogue

Players who prefer buying grouped cosmetics rather than collecting individual items also have three new bundles available during the celebration. The largest is the Back to School ’26 Mega Bundle, which contains eight event Legend Skins together with Protagonist’s Desk and additional themed supplies. Two smaller themed collections, the Team Spirit Bundle and School Faculty Bundle, divide the school aesthetic between athletics and teacher-focused cosmetics.

The important distinction is that these bundles sit alongside the earnable Event Center rather than replacing it. Valedictorian Loki and the Event Center progression provide something for players who want to earn rewards through play, while the Mallhalla catalogue and bundles remain the direct-purchase side of the seasonal event.

That hybrid approach has become particularly useful for recurring live-service celebrations. If everything were placed behind the store, the event itself would have little mechanical purpose beyond changing the menu presentation. If everything were earnable, meanwhile, returning players who simply want a specific older skin could be forced through unnecessary progression. Back to School 2026 instead separates the new progression chase from the larger returning catalogue.

Event Center Tickets can be earned until September 9

Players have a defined window to complete the 2026 progression. Event Center Tickets remain earnable through September 9. After ticket earning ends, Blue Mammoth Games will keep redemption available for an additional week, allowing players to spend previously earned Tickets or use Mammoth Coins before the event’s reward period fully closes.

That extra redemption week is worth noting because it creates two separate deadlines. September 9 is effectively the end of active Ticket farming, not the immediate disappearance of the entire Event Center. Players who finish the event with unspent currency therefore still have additional time to decide which rewards they want rather than needing to spend everything before the earning phase ends.

For anyone specifically targeting Valedictorian Loki or the other Event Center rewards, however, the practical objective is to complete the necessary Ticket progression before September 9. The additional week is useful as a purchasing buffer, but it does not extend the period in which more Tickets can be earned.

Patch 10.10 makes August 19 much bigger than a seasonal event

Back to School 2026 does not arrive alone. The same Patch 10.10 introduces Qinghua & Baobao — The Voyager & The Void, an unusual new Legend represented by a duo rather than a single fighter. They use Cannon and Orb, have a stat spread of 5 Strength, 4 Dexterity, 5 Defense and 8 Speed, and unlock two unique titles — The Voyager and The Void — at level 50. Three launch skins, an Avatar and an Emoji Skin also accompany their debut.

August 19 also marks the arrival of CMYK Colors, a new color scheme that can be purchased either for individual Legends or as an All Legends variant covering the current roster and future additions. Individual random CMYK rolls use a more transparent system than previous comparable color mechanics: the Legend attached to the random purchase is visible before buying, refreshes each day the player logs in and immediately rerolls to another Legend after a purchase.

Two new weapon cosmetic collections arrive as well. Crystalforged Weapon Skins are purchased with Glory after the corresponding Skyforged and Goldforged versions have been unlocked, while the glowing Guild Weapon Set is exclusively purchased with Guild Tokens. Patch 10.10 therefore spreads its cosmetic progression across seasonal play, ranked currency, Guild progression and direct Mallhalla purchases rather than concentrating everything into Back to School.

The update also brings a broad balance pass ahead of the next competitive cycle

Patch 10.10 contains a substantial gameplay balance update alongside the seasonal content, with Blue Mammoth Games explicitly targeting underperforming weapons and Legends. Axe, Bow, Greatsword, Orb, Rocket Lance, Scythe and Spear all receive adjustments, while several individual Legends — including Aurus, King Zuva, Lady Vera, Nix, Ransom, Thor and Volkov — have Signature attacks modified.

The patch is especially notable for Aurus, who receives his first dedicated balance pass and becomes legal for official tournament play. His Side Spear and Side Chakram gain additional Force, while Down Spear receives both increased damage and increased recovery on miss to adjust its risk-reward relationship. Other changes range from faster Signature charge times to additional knockout Force and improved stun windows for follow-up attacks.

For Back to School players primarily interested in cosmetics, these adjustments may seem peripheral, but they change the environment in which the event challenges are actually being completed. Anyone working through the 45-Legend Home Team Reunion objective will be rotating through a roster whose weapon balance has just shifted, giving experienced players another reason to revisit characters and weapons they may not regularly use.

Back to School 2026 gives returning players more than nostalgia

Recurring seasonal events can easily become predictable. Once the same cosmetic catalogue has returned several times, veteran players often know exactly what to expect before the trailer appears. Back to School 2026 avoids that problem reasonably well by retaining the established identity of the event while adding several rewards that did not exist in previous editions.

The Valedictorian Loki Skin gives Event Center progression a substantial headline reward. Protagonist’s Desk finally gives Back to School its own Podium. Audrey the 3rd, Side Sig PhD and the four Emoji Skins broaden the earnable selection, while Home Team Reunion Colors create an account-wide objective for players willing to win with 45 different Legends. At the same time, sixteen returning skins and the rest of the legacy catalogue ensure players who missed previous editions still have plenty to collect.

The timing also works in the event’s favor. With Qinghua & Baobao arriving on the same day, Patch 10.10 gives players a completely new Legend to experiment with while they progress through the seasonal challenges. The CMYK Colors, new weapon sets and balance changes then give the update additional objectives beyond the Back to School reward track.

For longtime Brawlhalla players, the classroom theme will be immediately familiar. The difference in 2026 is that there is substantially more new material waiting inside it.

Classes are starting again in Valhalla — except this time the valedictorian is Loki, Side Signatures apparently qualify for doctorates, Mordex can still turn up dressed as the school mascot, and winning with 45 different Legends may be the closest thing Brawlhalla has ever had to homework.
