A Very Merry Wintersday 2024 is Live!

The Very Merry Wintersday event is now live, transforming Divinity’s Reach into a snow-covered wonderland. Raids are back!

The next chapter of Guild Wars 2® is just around the corner: Janthir Wilds™! On November 19th, “Godspawn” will be released, and to that end, the Guild Wars 2 team has prepared a trailer and shown off some exclusive footage of the first raid in five years, as well as the upcoming Mount Balrior Convergence. Godspawn | Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds

On November 19th, Godspawn, the first of three major updates for Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™, arrives, including the first new raid in five years. “The Midnight King” is now available

Today is a big day for the studio and for Guild Wars 2® fans, as the grand finale of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure™ arrives with the title “The Midnight King.” This update contains three new story chapters that begin after the events of “The Kingdom of Dreams.” Eparch hunkers in the spires of Zakiros, amassing unfathomable power. Shoulder to shoulder with an unlikely alliance of soldiers, wizards, and demons, the wayfinder spearheads a desperate attempt to overthrow the Midnight King and take the throne of the Realm of Dreams. Super Adventure Festival 2024 begins!

Moto returns to Rata Sum, and with him, the Super Adventure Festival. Enter a virtual world, collect baubles and exchange them for all kinds of retro rewards. This annual festival is now underway and will last until May 7. The Super Adventure Festival is available to players of all levels. New Quality-of-Life Feature: Cosmetic Inspection

As we all know, fashion is the real focus of Guild Wars 2®, and today comes an update that will go a long way toward leveling the playing field for new fashion fans. After countless requests and a long wait, everything is finally ready to revolutionize Tyria's fashion with the new cosmetic inspection. From now on, you will find a new option called “Cosmetic Inspection” in the context menu (accessible by right-clicking on another player's image). This option will open a new panel with the appearance of what that player is equipped with: outfit, weapons, armor and associated dyes. You can also open this option using the chat command “/inspect” while you have the player targeted. You will notice that some items are updated with text explaining how to obtain them. “The Realm of Dreams” arrives on February 27

Next week arrives the next Major Update for Guild Wars 2®: Secrets of the Obscure™, the second of three planned that will include the entire expansion's story experience. This update introduces three new story chapters that continue the events of “Through the Veil” and pull the wayfinder even deeper into the unknown world of Nayos and the Kryptis society. This update comes with new features and content, such as new weapon proficiencies for all nine professions, the tier-one Obsidian legendary armor set, the legendary relic, the Temple of Febe Strike Mission challenge mode, expanded Astral Ward Masteries, two new Convergences bosses, and the sky-chak striker ranger pet. The Lunar New Year 2024 begins!

It's time for the first festival of 2024, so head to Divinity's Reach and enjoy the Lunar New Year celebration. During the year of the dragon, you can enjoy fireworks shows, participate in games, try delicious Canthian dishes and earn new rewards. “Through the Veil” is now available

Today the curtain rises to launch the first Major Update for Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure™: “Through the Veil.” This update contains three new story chapters that will send the wayfinder to a strange new place outside of Tyria: Nayos, the realm of dreams and home of the Kryptis. Remember that this update, as well as the other two major updates planned for 2024, are part of the content cycle for Secrets of the Obscure, so it is free for all those who already have the expansion. Going through the Veil

“Through the Veil,” the first of the major updates to Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, arrives on November 7. As you've probably seen in previous blog updates and the expansion announcement, everyone who owns Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure will have full and permanent access to all new content in the expansion. In “Through the Veil,” the three new story chapters will begin right where the launch day story ended. An adventure will continue in which we will enter a new world: Nayos, the Realm of Dreams. The Shadow of the Mad King festival has begun. There are plenty of monster goods available to search for this year, plus a new game mode for the Mad King's Clock Tower. Secrets of the Obscure is now available

Today is a big day as the portal to Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure™ opens so players can experience a new chapter in the Tyrian adventure. You will live the major Guild Wars 2 story in which Tyria is not overshadowed by the threat of the Elder Dragons. You’ll catch up with old friends, make new ones, and together you’ll put your strength to the test against the invading Kryptis forces from the Mists. You’ll master new build combinations with the weapon access opened up by Weaponmaster Training and the relic system. You’ll soar in the skies above Tyria in two new zones that emphasize aerial exploration, with a streamlined method to acquire the skyscale mount and new Flight Training Masteries. The Festival of the Four Winds is here! This annual festival takes place in two locations: the Labyrinthine Cliffs and the Crown Pavilion, which will be available until August 8. A new chapter begins: Secrets of the Obscure!

A new chapter in Tyria's history will begin on August 22 with the release of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure. There is nothing left for you to take to the skies of Tyria in new maps where you will have to fight against invaders from the Mists and you will master new combat possibilities. The adventure will continue post-launch with major updates happening every few months, introducing new locations and rewards as available features expand and the story of Secrets of the Obscure continues. Preview of the January 31 Update

In addition to the improved rewards, this new update includes changes designed to encourage direct player vs. player conflict in fights over objectives while taking care not to take the fun out of objective defense.
