Let's celebrate Saint Andrew's Day!

Festivals in honor of St. Andrew date back to 1000 AD, and the festival has been celebrated throughout Scotland for over a millennium. But he did not formally become the patron saint of Scotland until 1320, when the Declaration of Arbroath was signed, legally declaring Scottish independence.

Since then, St Andrew's has become a vital component of Scottish culture. The ancient city of San Andrés owes its name to the fact that it is supposed to be the final resting place of San Andrés.
