A second chance illuminates Runeterra as Senna prepares her arrival in 2XKO

Before becoming one of the most popular champions in League of Legends, Senna’s story was defined by tragedy. However, she managed to escape, returning to life with newfound powers and becoming one of the pivotal figures among the Sentinels of Light.

Now, Riot Games has decided to revisit that journey through "Senna Rises Again," a new motion comic that serves as a narrative prelude to the champion's arrival in 2XKO, where she will be available as a playable character starting June 9.

The story of one of Runaterra’s most important champions

The comic revisits some of the most critical moments in Senna’s life, from her training as a member of the Sentinels of Light to her capture by Thresh.

Her eventual liberation marked one of the most significant events in modern League of Legends lore. After years trapped inside the spectral lantern, Senna returned transformed—retaining part of the Black Mist's power and wielding it against the very forces that had tried to consume her.

This duality between light and darkness has become her defining trait, and it serves as the core pillar for her adaptation into 2XKO.

A fighter blending tow combat styles

Riot recently showcased Senna's official gameplay, confirming her June 9 release date. Her design combines long-range attacks inspired by her massive Sentinel relic cannon with brand-new mechanics centered around her spectral powers.

In fact, the developers previously explained that one of her biggest departures from her League of Legends counterpart is the expansion of her well-known Wraith Mode.

What was originally a mobility and camouflage ability in the MOBA transforms in 2XKO into a much deeper mechanic capable of significantly altering her combat style. Riot thus aims to offer a fighter who can seamlessly alternate between space control, offensive pressure, and explosive attacks.

A crucial addition to the future of 2XKO

Senna’s arrival is part of the progressive roster expansion for 2XKO, Riot's upcoming free-to-play tag-team fighting game set in the League of Legends universe.
