Riot Games has released the long-awaited Champion Spotlight for Thresh, offering the most complete breakdown to date of one of the most distinctive characters coming to 2XKO on June 9. Following the recent reveal of his move set, the new video dives deeper into how the Unrelenting Jailor actually functions within the game’s tag-team combat system, confirming that this is one of the most original fighters in the roster.

Originating from the Shadow Isles, Thresh retains much of the abilities that made him one of the most iconic champions in League of Legends,but adapted to a fighting game where space control and coordination with a partner are essential.

The first Strategist in 2XKO

Thresh officially inaugurates the Strategist archetype, a category designed for characters capable of manipulating the pace of combat and forcing opponents to constantly react. Riot defines him as a fighter specialized in long-range attacks, indirect pressure, and tools that alter both teams’ positioning.

His massive chain allows him to strike from unexpected angles, catch opponents, and control areas of the screen where few characters can compete. Moves inspired by Death Sentence, Dark Passage, and The Box return reimagined to fit 2XKO’s combat system.
