Arena Breakout: Infinite unleashes the Legacy Knife in its new Dark Legacy themed supply
27/07/2026 - 08:50
Arena Breakout: Infinite has opened the Dark Legacy supply, introducing a new collaboration-exclusive melee weapon alongside coordinated firearm, grenade and tactical-equipment cosmetics.
The collection launched as part of the game’s Resident Evil 4 collaboration on July 24, 2026, but it occupies a different thematic space from Leon S. Kennedy’s Federal Security equipment and Ada Wong’s Crimson Phantom arsenal.
Dark Legacy is built around biological experimentation rather than recognizable protagonist imagery.
Its centerpiece is the Legacy Knife, an unconventional close-quarters weapon with a spiral blade, laboratory-instrument silhouette and bespoke animation set. The wider reward pool includes Dark Legacy finishes for the MPX Micro SMG, F2000 Assault Rifle and MK II Frag Grenade, as well as matching gear and additional customization items.
The supply is available now through the Arena Breakout: Infinite store. Players use dedicated Dark Legacy Supply Passes to draw from its limited reward pool, meaning the collaboration passes distributed for Leon and Ada’s Fate Intertwined supply should not automatically be assumed to work here.
“The Shadows are Eternal” is more than a tagline for a black-and-red cosmetic collection. Dark Legacy represents the part of the Resident Evil crossover associated with abandoned laboratories, corrupted research and weapons that appear to have survived whatever happened to the people who created them.
Dark Legacy gives the Resident Evil crossover a second identity
Leon and Ada provide the most immediate form of franchise recognition.
Their character appearances reproduce two established Resident Evil 4 protagonists, while their associated weapon skins are organized around their professional identities. Federal Security evokes Leon’s government-agent role. Crimson Phantom represents Ada’s covert operations and calculated secrecy.
Dark Legacy does not belong exclusively to either character.
The collection imagines equipment connected to the biological conspiracy surrounding them. Its designs look less like official field gear and more like objects recovered from a laboratory after the researchers responsible had already disappeared.
That distinction allows the crossover to operate on two levels.
Players interested in becoming a recognizable Resident Evil character can pursue Fate Intertwined. Those who prefer the franchise’s experiments, hidden facilities and clinical horror can focus on Dark Legacy.
The separation is commercially more complex because the content is divided between different supplies, but it gives each collection a clearer visual purpose.
Dark Legacy does not need Leon or Ada’s face to communicate Resident Evil. Its equipment tells the other half of the story: somebody created a dangerous object, somebody lost control of it and another Operator has now taken it into Kamona.
The Legacy Knife is the collection’s principal reward
The Legacy Knife occupies the highest position within the Dark Legacy supply.
Its design abandons the conventional profile of a military combat knife. Rather than using a broad, practical blade, it resembles a hybrid between a bayonet, injection device and experimental penetrator.
The spiral construction gives the weapon an immediately recognizable first-person silhouette.
That matters more in Arena Breakout: Infinite than it would in a third-person game. Operators rarely see their complete outfit while playing, but a melee weapon repeatedly enters the player’s direct field of view during movement, inspection and close-range attacks.
The knife is therefore not simply another item inside the collection. It is the cosmetic most capable of defining the player’s moment-to-moment visual experience.
Its bespoke animations reinforce that status.
The trailer emphasizes the weapon’s deployment, inspection and attack motions rather than presenting it only through a static store image. The Legacy Knife appears designed to be examined repeatedly, giving its owner reasons to equip it even during raids where attempting an actual melee elimination would be strategically unwise.
The spiral blade creates a deliberately unnatural silhouette
Most Arena Breakout melee weapons communicate their purpose immediately.
A conventional knife has an edge and point. A dagger prioritizes thrusting. A heavier blade suggests wider swings and greater physical weight.
The Legacy Knife appears less predictable.
Its twisting profile raises questions about whether it was designed primarily for combat, material extraction, injection or some other biological procedure. That ambiguity fits the Resident Evil universe, where medical and industrial equipment frequently becomes part of an experiment’s containment system—or the weapon used after containment fails.
The shape also helps distinguish it in a crowded cosmetic catalogue.
A simple dark knife with red detailing could be visually attractive without becoming memorable. The spiral structure remains identifiable even when lighting conditions, gloves and the surrounding environment make smaller surface details difficult to see.
That is important in maps such as TV Station, where interior lighting and rapid close-range movement can obscure fine cosmetic work. The Legacy Knife’s identity survives through shape rather than depending exclusively on texture.
Its color-changing inspection effect makes the knife a display object
The Legacy Knife’s inspection sequence highlights the experimental material contained within the weapon.
Its presentation suggests that a mechanism in the handle activates or releases a reagent, producing a visible color transition along the blade. The effect gives the item a sense of internal operation rather than treating its red elements as ordinary paint.
This is a cosmetic transformation rather than a combat buff.
Inspecting the knife does not increase melee damage, alter movement or provide information about nearby enemies. Its value comes from animation quality and the ability to display the item during quieter moments in a raid.
That distinction should remain clear.
Premium weapon cosmetics are most defensible when they change presentation without influencing performance. An expensive melee weapon should not provide additional reach, faster attacks or a less readable hit animation than the standard equipment available to other players.
The Legacy Knife can appear dangerous without becoming mechanically superior.
Its visual transformation also connects it to the wider collection. Dark Legacy is not simply using black equipment with red highlights. It presents the red substance as something active, contained and potentially unstable.
A three-strike sequence gives the weapon a more complete animation package
The Legacy Knife includes a dedicated multi-hit attack presentation culminating in a more pronounced final strike.
This does not transform Arena Breakout: Infinite into a melee action game.
Firearms remain overwhelmingly more practical in most engagements, and attempting to complete a melee sequence against an alert opponent carrying a loaded rifle is an extremely high-risk decision.
The animation still matters for two reasons.
First, it gives the cosmetic a more complete identity. Players are not purchasing only an inspect animation attached to a standard attack set. The knife has a recognizable rhythm when used directly.
Second, the sequence can create memorable moments in modes or circumstances where melee combat is more viable.
Arena Breakout has experimented with melee-focused activities, including Season 6’s TV Station melee combat variant. Tight interiors, ammunition depletion, surprised opponents and low-risk event modes can all create situations where the weapon is used rather than merely displayed.
The final strike’s stronger visual effect gives successful sequences a clear endpoint.
It should not be mistaken for evidence of additional damage without confirmation from the live statistics. Cosmetic animation and mechanical performance are separate systems.
Melee weapons remain emergency tools in ordinary raids
The Legacy Knife is visually central to Dark Legacy, but it does not change the fundamental hierarchy of Arena Breakout combat.
A firearm allows an Operator to threaten enemies across rooms, corridors and open terrain. A melee weapon requires direct contact and usually exposes its user throughout the approach.
Even a distracted opponent can turn a failed knife attack into an immediate elimination.
The safest use cases remain highly situational:
An enemy may be unaware of the Operator’s position.
A target may be reloading or using medical supplies.
Both players may have exhausted their ammunition.
A close interior angle may prevent the enemy from reacting before the first attack lands.
An event mode may restrict or encourage melee combat.
Outside those circumstances, the Legacy Knife is principally a prestige cosmetic and last-resort weapon.
That does not reduce its appeal. In extraction shooters, the most desirable cosmetics are often attached to objects that remain permanently equipped and cannot be lost through ordinary raid failure.
A rifle may be replaced according to the map, ammunition economy or current mission. A favorite melee cosmetic can remain part of nearly every loadout.
The MPX extends Dark Legacy into close-quarters gunfights
The Dark Legacy MPX Micro SMG gives the collection a firearm suited to the same environments in which the knife is most visible.
The MPX is associated with compact handling and close-range engagements. It is more appropriate for interiors, narrow corridors and aggressive room clearing than for controlling long exterior sightlines.
That makes it a natural companion to the Legacy Knife.
An Operator using the MPX is already expected to move closer to enemy positions. The weapon can handle the actual firefight, while the knife completes the same visual theme without asking the player to abandon a viable tactical loadout.
The cosmetic does not replace the MPX’s ordinary statistics.
Its effectiveness still depends on ammunition selection, attachments, recoil management and whether the player can force engagements within the weapon’s preferred range. A dark animated finish cannot compensate for taking unsuitable ammunition against heavily armored opponents.
This is one of the central principles of Arena Breakout’s cosmetic system.
The weapon may look like it emerged from a biohazard laboratory. The ammunition still needs to penetrate the armor worn by the person standing in front of it.
The F2000 gives the collection a more versatile primary weapon
The Dark Legacy F2000 Assault Rifle skin broadens the collection beyond close-range specialists.
The F2000 can support a wider variety of raid conditions than the MPX. It is capable of operating through interior spaces while remaining relevant at medium distance, depending on the build, optics and ammunition selected.
That versatility may make its cosmetic more attractive to players who do not regularly use submachine guns.
Arena Breakout: Infinite’s Season 6 updates also adjusted the F2000’s recoil behavior, giving existing users another reason to revisit the platform during the collaboration period.
The Dark Legacy treatment appears more animated and visually expansive on a full-length primary weapon than on smaller equipment.
There is more physical surface available for the collection’s experimental patterns, illuminated elements and corrupted laboratory aesthetic. The result can remain visible during aiming, inspection and weapon manipulation without changing the rifle’s recognizable profile.
Maintaining that profile is important.
Competitive readability depends partly on players being able to identify the broad weapon category another Operator is carrying. A premium skin should not disguise an assault rifle as an unrelated platform.
The MK II Frag Grenade brings the theme into tactical equipment
Dark Legacy also includes a cosmetic for the MK II Frag Grenade.
Throwable skins receive less attention than rifles or melee weapons, but they can be highly visible during actual combat. The player equips the grenade, prepares the throw and may hold it while judging timing, distance and the enemy’s likely movement.
The Dark Legacy finish gives another part of the loadout the same experimental identity.
It also fits the collection’s implied danger. A grenade already represents a contained destructive reaction waiting to be released. Applying the Dark Legacy design makes it look like another sealed laboratory device whose stability should not be trusted.
The cosmetic does not alter the grenade’s blast, fuse or fragmentation behavior.
That limitation is essential. Throwable timing is a competitive mechanic, and opponents need consistent expectations when reacting to an incoming grenade. A themed exterior can change appearance without modifying the rules governing its detonation.
Players pursuing a fully coordinated Dark Legacy loadout may value the grenade more than its position in the reward pool initially suggests. It prevents the visual theme from disappearing whenever the primary weapon is lowered and tactical equipment is selected.
Matching gear turns the collection into a complete Operator setup
The Dark Legacy pool extends beyond weapons with themed equipment skins.
The associated gear presentation includes coordinated treatments for protective and load-bearing equipment, allowing the player to carry the collection’s darker biological aesthetic across more of the Operator model.
This matters primarily to teammates, opponents and players using menus, lobby presentation or the Trophy Room.
Arena Breakout: Infinite is played from a first-person perspective, so the owner does not spend ordinary raids looking at the complete armor set. Gloves, sleeves and held equipment have greater immediate visibility.
Full equipment skins still serve several purposes.
They create a recognizable squad identity when multiple players coordinate their cosmetics. They improve screenshots, lobby presentation and post-match viewing. They also make the collection more coherent when another player encounters the Operator during a raid.
The strongest gear cosmetics work without damaging tactical readability.
Armor, chest rigs and face protection must remain distinguishable enough that an opponent can estimate the target’s equipment. Visual design should not obscure the difference between protective categories or make an equipped item difficult to identify under normal lighting.
Dark Legacy is not the same supply as Fate Intertwined
The Resident Evil collaboration now contains several overlapping reward systems.
Fate Intertwined is the supply associated with Federal Agent Leon, Crimson Espionage Ada and their respective weapon collections.
Dark Legacy is a separate themed supply using Dark Legacy Supply Passes.
That distinction is critical before spending currency.
The 60 free collaboration Supply Passes offered to eligible Level 30 players were promoted primarily as free attempts at the new collaboration characters. Players should not assume those passes can be transferred freely into the Dark Legacy pool.
Each supply has its own interface, reward catalogue and expenditure conditions.
The game client should be checked before every draw to confirm:
- Which pass or currency will be consumed.
- Which items remain in the current reward pool.
- Whether rewards can repeat.
- How the cost changes after each draw.
- Whether any discount is currently active.
- How long the supply remains available.
The presence of several Resident Evil-branded systems can make the event appear more unified than its economy actually is.
Someone interested only in the Legacy Knife should evaluate Dark Legacy directly rather than spending resources on Leon, Ada or another collection and expecting progress to transfer.
A shrinking reward pool provides certainty at an increasing cost
Dark Legacy follows the limited-supply structure in which obtained rewards are removed from the active pool.
This prevents duplicate results.
Every unsuccessful attempt at the headline weapon still reduces the number of remaining items, eventually increasing the probability that the Legacy Knife will appear. The system provides a theoretical route to securing the complete collection rather than allowing the same lower-tier reward to appear indefinitely.
The trade-off is escalating draw cost.
Later attempts generally require more resources than earlier ones. A player who obtains the knife quickly may spend considerably less than someone who reaches it near the end of the sequence.
This structure should not be evaluated through the price of the first draw.
The relevant figure is the maximum total cost required to clear enough of the pool to guarantee the desired reward. That amount should be compared with the value the player assigns to the knife and the usefulness of everything obtained before it.
A collection can contain several attractive items and still be expensive to complete.
The absence of duplicates reduces uncertainty. It does not automatically make the full process inexpensive.
The Legacy Knife should be evaluated against the entire pool
Players frequently judge a themed supply according to one headline item.
That is understandable when the main reward has unique animations and considerably more visibility than the rest of the collection. It can also produce a distorted assessment of value.
Someone who uses both the MPX and F2000 may find several desirable outcomes inside Dark Legacy. Matching equipment and grenade cosmetics can complete a loadout even when the knife appears late.
A player who uses neither firearm and has no interest in the gear set is effectively drawing for one item.
The same reward pool can therefore represent very different value to different accounts.
Before spending, players should inspect every possible result and divide the contents into three categories:
Items they would equip regularly.
Items they might use occasionally.
Items they would never select outside the novelty period.
The closer the pool is to the first category, the less dependent its value becomes on obtaining the Legacy Knife early.
The more rewards fall into the third, the more the supply resembles an expensive pursuit of one cosmetic.
Dark Legacy competes with several simultaneous collaboration purchases
The collection does not exist in isolation.
Arena Breakout: Infinite’s Resident Evil 4 collaboration also offers Leon, Ada, Federal Security weapons, Crimson Phantom weapons, the free Special Security Team uniform, Egg Trade rewards, Corrupted Arsenal progression and other limited cosmetics.
Players therefore face an allocation problem rather than a simple purchase decision.
Resources spent chasing the Legacy Knife cannot also be used toward a character supply or another premium track. The free 1,500 Bonds reduce part of the wider event cost, but they do not make every collaboration reward obtainable without additional spending.
Priorities should be established before drawing.
A player who values character recognition may prefer Leon or Ada.
Someone who spends most of the game in first person may receive more practical visibility from the Legacy Knife.
A collector interested in free progression can concentrate on the Special Security Team uniform, Crest Lord set and event rewards without entering either premium supply deeply.
Limited-time marketing encourages immediate action. The number of simultaneous pools makes planning more important than urgency.
The collection fits Resident Evil without reproducing a specific canonical weapon
The Legacy Knife does not appear to be a direct recreation of one of Leon or Ada’s standard Resident Evil 4 weapons.
Instead, it uses the wider visual language of the franchise.
Clinical equipment becomes threatening. Red biological material appears contained inside machinery. An object has been engineered for a purpose that is not fully explained, and its polished construction makes that purpose more disturbing rather than less.
This approach gives MoreFun greater design freedom.
A direct replica must remain faithful to an established model. Dark Legacy can be shaped around Arena Breakout’s first-person animations, melee systems and existing equipment categories while still feeling connected to the collaboration.
The result is closer to an imagined artifact from the Resident Evil universe than merchandise carrying a logo.
That can produce a more durable cosmetic.
A character-specific weapon may look incomplete when equipped with unrelated outfits. Dark Legacy’s laboratory aesthetic can remain compatible with future tactical, horror and experimental equipment sets after the Resident Evil event has ended.
The trailer sells atmosphere rather than tactical power
“The Shadows are Eternal” frames Dark Legacy as something that existed before the Operator discovered it and will continue after the current incident has ended.
The trailer relies on darkness, controlled red illumination and close inspection of the weapon rather than presenting a conventional firefight.
That is the correct promotional approach.
There is no new mission, map or infected enemy attached exclusively to the supply. Attempting to present the Legacy Knife as though it transformed raid strategy would overstate what the collection contains.
Its purpose is cosmetic identity.
The trailer needs to make the weapon feel valuable through animation, sound, surface detail and implied history. It creates the impression that the knife belongs to a larger experiment without inventing gameplay mechanics the item does not possess.
The collection’s success will therefore depend on execution at close range.
Players will judge how the blade looks under different lighting, how fluidly it is drawn, whether the inspection remains satisfying after repeated use and how well the firearm finishes preserve their effects during ordinary combat.
The best Dark Legacy reward is the one that remains equipped
Limited cosmetics are often evaluated during their launch week, when the theme is new and the surrounding collaboration dominates the game’s presentation.
Long-term value is more demanding.
The Legacy Knife needs to remain attractive after the Resident Evil events, free Bonds and collaboration missions have disappeared. The MPX and F2000 skins need to remain compatible with builds players actually use. The equipment set needs to work alongside future outfits rather than requiring the entire Dark Legacy collection to look coherent.
A cosmetic’s practical value is measured through continued selection.
An expensive knife used through hundreds of raids may provide more lasting satisfaction than several outfits rarely visible to their owner. A highly animated rifle skin has limited value when attached to a weapon the player never chooses.
Dark Legacy benefits from distributing its theme across several categories, but that does not mean every category will matter equally to every account.
The live preview and inspection tools should be used before committing resources.
The shadows are attractive, but the supply rules still matter
Dark Legacy is one of the more distinctive parts of Arena Breakout: Infinite’s Resident Evil 4 collaboration.
Leon and Ada reproduce the agents who enter the incident. The Legacy Knife represents something they might have discovered after the facility responsible had already been abandoned.
Its spiral blade, active reagent effect and dedicated animations give the collection a strong first-person centerpiece. The MPX, F2000 and MK II Frag Grenade extend the same identity across practical combat equipment, while matching gear allows the complete Operator to carry the theme.
None of those rewards changes weapon statistics or creates a competitive advantage.
The actual decision is economic.
Players need to determine whether they want one specific knife, several items from the collection or the complete Dark Legacy set. Dedicated Supply Passes, a shrinking non-duplicate pool and increasing draw costs make those three objectives materially different.
Dark Legacy is available now as part of the live Resident Evil collaboration.
The weapon may have emerged from the shadows, but the cost of reaching it should never remain hidden.
