The return of Battlefield's most iconic Bazaar: war escalates in the new Blastpoint update

The war between PAX and NATO is far from over. EA and Battlefield Studios have officially unveiled Blastpoint, the second major update for Battlefield 6’s Season 3—an expansion that resurrects one of the franchise's most beloved maps and brings back a classic game mode that veterans have been demanding for years

Available starting June 9, Blastpoint introduces the new Cairo Bazaar map, the return of Obliteration, new weapons, brand-new gadgets, and a special progression track focused on explosives. It all feeds into the narrative of Season 3, where the global conflict between the forces of PAX ArmataandNATO continues to intensify

Grand Bazaar reborn as Cairo Bazaar

The star of the update is Cairo Bazaar, a modern reinterpretation of the legendary Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3.

Considered by many players to be one of the best urban combat maps in the entire franchise, Grand Bazaar was famous for its intense infantry firefights, narrow alleys, and non-stop meatgrinders over the central capture points.

The new version stays true to that philosophy but has been completely rebuilt for Battlefield 6. It now features enhanced environmental destruction, new flanking routes, expanded combat zones, and more tactical options to break through frustrating stalemates.

The action unfolds in a single district of Cairo, where covered markets, tight streets, and bombed-out buildings create a playground tailor-made for close-quarters combat.

Obliteration returns after more than a decade

Another major highlight is the return of Obliteration, one of the most memorable modes from Battlefield 4.

In this mode, both teams fight to control neutral bombs that spawn on the map. Once secured, they must escort the bomb carrier to enemy objectives to destroy their M-COMstations and score points toward victory.

Unlike Conquest or Breakthrough, Obliteration forces players to constantly shift between offense and defense on the fly, creating much more dynamic and unpredictable matches.

Its return has been one of the most frequent requests from the veteran community since the launch of Battlefield 6.

The PP-19 rejoins the arsenal

Blastpoint also introduces a new free reward via the Explosive Charge Bonus Path special progression track.

The PP-19,a submachine gun returns with its signature, high-capacity helical magazine. Engineered for close-range encounters, the PP-19 offers excellent stability and sustained firepower, making it an incredibly attractive option for players who favor aggressive, run-and-gun playstyles

Longtime fans will recognize the weapon immediately, as it originally debuted in Battlefield 2 before returning in subsequent titles.

Recon classes receive a new tactical tool

Alongside the new SMG comes the Handheld Jammer, an exclusive gadget for the Recon class.

This device is designed to disrupt enemy electronic systems and support covert operations behind enemy lines. While EA has yet to fully detail its exact tactical capabilities, the gadget clearly aims to reinforce the electronic warfare and scouting role within squads.

More shifts coming in Season 3

Blastpoint is just one piece of a broader roadmap for Battlefield 6.

A previously confirmed that Season 3 is divided into three major phases:

• Warlords: Supremacy (launched in May).
• Blastpoint (June 9).
• High-Value Target (June 30).

Furthermore, the developers have teased that the highly anticipated return of naval warfare is scheduled for Season 4, fulfilling one of the community's biggest wish-list items since the game's release.

An update built for franchise veterans

Beyond the new rewards, Blastpoint represents something very specific for Battlefield.

Bringing back Grand Bazaar, reviving Obliteration, and reintroducing classic weapons like the PP-19 highlights a clear strategy from EA: recapture the elements most cherished from the titles that defined the franchise's golden age.

And if this new trailer proves anything, it's that sometimes you don't need to invent something completely new.
