Contaminated and VL-7 smoke mark the escalation in Battlefield 6 Season 2

War is evolving. The official gameplay trailer for Battlefield 6: Season 2 teases a grittier and more unpredictable conflict, set to launch on February 17 across both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. The mission is clear: adapt or fall.

The centerpiece of this season is Contaminated, an expansive map where verticality and wide-open spaces collide with high-risk zones. Joining the fray is a high-stakes assault to reclaim a once-owned NATO airbase in the mountains of Germany—a strategic objective that ramps up the territorial pressure established in recent narrative arcs.

Perhaps the most disruptive element is the VL-7 psychoactive smoke. This new tactical hazard distorts perception on the battlefield, scrambling tactical awareness and forcing players to rethink their positioning and real-time coordination.

The update also bolsters the arsenal with three new weapons, two brand-new gadgets and the return of the iconic AH-6 Little Bird, expanding offensive air mobility. Everything falls under the banner of Extreme Measures, a theme that defines a season where the conflict escalates without compromise.

With this new phase, Battlefield 6 doubles down on intense combat, dynamic environments, and tools designed to shift the tempo of the match from the very first minute.
