KLab has launched The Calamity Tie-In Project Summons: Round 3 in BLEACH: Brave Souls, introducing a new Thousand-Year Blood War 2026 version of Sōsuke Aizen. The character is based on Aizen’s appearance in Episode 48 of the BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War anime and arrives as the latest release in the game’s ongoing 11th Anniversary celebrations.
The summons became available on September 13 at 00:00 JST and will remain active until October 5 at 15:59 JST. Alongside the usual chance-based draws, Round 3 includes guaranteed rewards, a selectable character ticket and a dedicated medal exchange offering an additional route to obtain the new Aizen.
Aizen is designed as a melee strong-attack character specializing in Dominate+, large conditional damage bonuses and high-level PvE content against Soul Reaper enemies. His kit is built around applying a status ailment before using several overlapping skills to dramatically increase his Spiritual Pressure and damage output.
Round 3 Offers Higher Featured Character Rates
To celebrate the game’s 11th Anniversary, every featured ★5 character in the summons has an individual draw rate of 1%. The combined advertised probability for the featured ★5 pool is 6%.
That distinction is important. The 6% figure applies to the combined featured selection rather than guaranteeing a 6% chance specifically for Aizen. His individual advertised rate is 1%, matching each of the other featured ★5 characters available in the banner.
Guaranteed ★5 slots can also produce characters outside the featured pool. Players should therefore not assume that every guaranteed ★5 result will be Aizen or another headline character unless the corresponding step explicitly promises a featured unit.
The most important guarantees arrive at Steps 5 and 10:
- Step 5 guarantees one featured ★5 character.
- Step 10 guarantees a ★5 character.
- Step 10 also awards a Choose a New or Selected ★5 Summons Ticket for September 2026.
The September ticket allows players to select one character from a predetermined pool that includes the newly released Aizen. Consequently, reaching Step 10 provides a deterministic way to secure him even if he does not appear during the preceding summons.
The ticket does not provide access to every ★5 character in BLEACH: Brave Souls. It is limited to the pool selected for this particular reward, so players interested in a different unit should inspect the complete selection inside the game before making their choice.
Aizen Turns Dominate+ Into His Main Weapon
Aizen is a melee strong-attack character whose entire offensive cycle revolves around Dominate+. Every one of his attacks can inflict the enhanced status ailment, causing affected enemies to fight among themselves instead of attacking him.
This creates both offensive and defensive value. Dominate+ temporarily disrupts groups of opponents while simultaneously activating several of Aizen’s most powerful damage bonuses. His kit is therefore less focused on unconditional damage and more concerned with reliably placing enemies into the correct status before overwhelming them.
Aizen’s second and third strong attacks are both classified as Superior Strong Attacks. These attacks are designed to deliver more damage than their regular equivalents, reinforcing his role as an aggressive Spiritual Pressure-based character.
His EX Move is a forward-facing, wide-range static vortex. The attack’s coverage and repeated contact should help him apply Dominate+ consistently across groups, giving him an efficient way to begin the status-driven portion of his damage rotation.
Against vulnerable enemies, that sequence is straightforward: inflict Dominate+, activate the relevant Spiritual Pressure and damage bonuses, and then use his stronger attacks while those conditions remain active.
Massive Conditional Spiritual Pressure Bonuses
Aizen possesses Status Ailment Spiritual Pressure Boost +100%, one of the central components of his kit. Inflicting a status ailment activates this boost, significantly raising the power behind his strong attacks and Special Move.
He also has the EX Skill EX Status Ailment Spiritual Pressure Boost +30%. This gives him another benefit tied to successful status application and reinforces the importance of keeping Dominate+ active whenever possible.
His damage against affected targets receives additional support from two more effects:
- Damage to Dominated Enemies +100%
- EX Damage to Dominated Enemies +40%
These bonuses make Aizen particularly dangerous once Dominate+ has landed. However, the percentages should not simply be added together and treated as a single guaranteed final damage multiplier. BLEACH: Brave Souls calculates different damage effects according to their respective categories and conditions, and an enemy must first be successfully Dominated before the corresponding bonuses become active.
This dependency represents the primary limitation of the design. Aizen is at his strongest against enemies susceptible to his status ailment. Encounters involving immunity, unusual resistance or targets that cannot be controlled may prevent him from accessing the complete value of his kit.
Built to Hunt Soul Reapers
Aizen carries Soul Reaper Killer+, defining the enemy affiliation he is intended to counter. His Greater Status Ailment Chance Against Soul Reapers +20% skill further improves that matchup.
KLab states that this 20% effect doubles the value of the existing affiliation-based status ailment chance skills, which normally provide 10%. Combined with his vortex-style EX Move and Dominate+ on every attack, Aizen should be particularly reliable at controlling Soul Reaper waves.
He also possesses Poise Break outside Brave Battles. This allows him to disrupt enemies protected by Poise, preventing that defensive ability from simply absorbing his attacks without interruption.
His 200% Weaken Resistance protects him even against Weaken+, another useful feature for difficult quests where status ailments can significantly reduce a character’s damage and survivability.
These elements make him especially relevant for Guild Quests and Limit Breaker Quests featuring Soul Reaper enemies and increased melee damage rules. That is the context in which his Killer+, melee strong attacks, Poise Break and Dominate-focused bonuses are most likely to align.
Aizen is not presented as a Brave Battles specialist. Poise Break explicitly excludes that mode, and the official character overview emphasizes high-difficulty quest content rather than competitive team compositions.
A Powerful Link Beyond His Own Combat Role
Aizen’s Soul Trait reduces strong-attack recharge time by 14%, helping him cycle through his abilities more quickly when used as an active character or link.
His long-term account value may extend beyond playing him directly. When placed in the first character link slot, Aizen can share both of his EX Skills:
- EX Status Ailment Spiritual Pressure Boost +30%
- EX Damage to Dominated Enemies +40%
This makes him an unusually specialized but potentially powerful link for strong-attack characters capable of inflicting Dominate. Those characters can benefit from his Spiritual Pressure boost and extra damage against Dominated opponents without requiring Aizen to be the active unit.
The restriction to the first link slot matters because players cannot place him anywhere in the link configuration and expect the EX effects to transfer. Team building must account for that position, alongside the usual considerations involving recharge reduction, damage bonuses and status compatibility.
His value as a link also depends heavily on the receiving character. A unit without Dominate cannot reliably activate the full package, making Aizen far less universally applicable than a link providing unconditional strong-attack damage or recharge bonuses.
Calamity Medals Provide Another Route to Aizen
Round 3 introduces The Calamity Tie-In Project Exchange, Round 3. Players receive dedicated medals from every summons step, as well as from individual x1 draws, and can exchange those medals for rewards.
The exchange lineup includes the newly added Aizen and enhancement materials such as ★3 Rarity Keys. This gives players another method of working toward the character instead of depending exclusively on random results.
Medals obtained through x1 summons are sent directly to the Gift Box without displaying a separate acquisition pop-up. Players can access the exchange through the Home screen by navigating to Shop and then Exchanges.
The required number of medals and the complete reward inventory should be checked in the in-game exchange before spending Spirit Orbs. The selectable Step 10 ticket and the medal exchange are separate systems, and players should calculate which route best matches their available resources.
Is the New Aizen Worth Summoning?
From a gameplay perspective, Aizen offers an extremely concentrated PvE kit. He brings enhanced strong attacks, reliable Dominate+ application, large status-triggered Spiritual Pressure bonuses, additional damage against Dominated enemies and a strong matchup against Soul Reapers.
His usefulness is not limited to being an active damage dealer. The ability to share two EX Skills from the first link slot gives him lasting value for future Dominate-based strong-attack characters.
The main consideration is opportunity cost. His individual featured rate remains 1%, and Step 5 guarantees only a featured character rather than Aizen specifically. Players who want certainty should evaluate the total Spirit Orb investment needed to reach Step 10, where the selectable ticket offers direct access to him.
For collectors, the character also carries clear importance as the Episode 48 Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation and the headline release of the third Calamity Tie-In round. For competitive PvE players, his strongest justification will be Soul Reaper Guild Quests, melee-rule content and Limit Breaker Quests where Dominate+ can be applied consistently.
The Calamity Tie-In Project Summons: Round 3 is available in BLEACH: Brave Souls until October 5 at 15:59 JST.
