Brawlhalla recovers one of its darkest seasons with the return of the Battle Pass Terminus

15/06/2026 - 11:45

Players of Brawlhalla will have a new opportunity to immerse themselves in one of the game’s most memorable themed universes. Blue Mammoth Games has announced the return of the classic Battle Pass Season 8 Terminus, which will be available again starting June 17 as part of its battle pass re-release program. The season brings back its cyberpunk setting, Darkheart experiments, and some of the most popular rewards released during 2023.

The announcement came alongside a new official trailer that invites players to “return to the depths of Terminus”, one of the most elaborate narrative settings ever featured in Ubisoft and Blue Mammoth Games’ fighting game.

Terminus returns with its rewards and most popular futuristic theme

The eighth Battle Pass season originally debuted in August 2023 and stood out for its setting inspired by a futuristic megacity controlled by the biotech corporation THNX, an organization that conducted experiments with the energy known as Darkheart on legends from different dimensions.

The Terminus narrative quickly became one of the most recognizable in Brawlhalla’s recent history thanks to its mix of science fiction, cyberpunk aesthetics, and technological mutations. Within this universe, some of the game’s most memorable skins appeared, including alternate versions of characters such as Tezca, Petra, Hattori, Orion, and Xull,as well as a huge collection of weapons, visual effects, and exclusive cosmetic items.

Among the most notable contents of the original pass were the progressive epic skin Termidex, the evolving Corrupted Blood Tezca appearance, the upgradeable podium Darkheart Excavation, the universal Darkheart color scheme, and a wide selection of weapons with technological designs belonging to the Cyber Myk line.

Although Blue Mammoth has not yet detailed all the additional rewards that this re-release will include, Classic versions of Battle Passes usually include new rewards for those who already completed the original season, allowing both veterans and new players to find incentives to participate. The community has also pointed out that previous progress is preserved in these returns, allowing players to continue where they left off years ago.

The Battle Pass Classic program continues expanding access to historical content

The return of Terminus is part of Blue Mammoth Games’ ongoing strategy to recover older seasons through the Battle Pass Classicformat.

This system was created in response to one of the community’s main demands: the inability to obtain cosmetics that were locked after a battle pass ended. Instead of keeping them permanently inaccessible, the studio decided to reintroduce past seasons periodically, allowing new players to obtain historical rewards without completely affecting the exclusivity of those who participated in the original release.

The measure has been generally well received, although it has also sparked debate within the community. Some players believe re-releases reduce the value of the most exclusive items, while others argue that they remove the excess FOMO associated with traditional battle passes.

In any case, the strategy has helped keep much of Brawlhalla’s cosmetic content alive through more than a decade of continuous updates. The game continues to be one of the most popular free-to-play fighting titles on the market, with cross-play support, more than sixty legends, and frequent updates that include themed events, collaborations, and new characters.

What it means for players

For those who did not participate in the original 2023 season, the return of Terminus represents a second chance to obtain some of the game’s most in-demand cosmetics.

The Darkheart theme remains one of Brawlhalla’s most recognizable, and many of the skins included in this season still frequently appear in community rankings of the game’s best visual designs. The Darkheart color scheme, in particular, remains one of the most appreciated for its combination of dark tones and glowing effects.

On the other hand, veteran players will gain access to exclusive rewards added for the Classic version. In previous re-releases, Blue Mammoth has introduced avatars, titles, and additional cosmetic items specifically intended for those who already completed the pass during its original run.

The return of Terminus also helps diversify the content available between main seasons, offering new long-term goals for those who have already completed current events and want to expand their cosmetic collection.

One of Brawlhalla’s most memorable settings returns to action

The return of Battle Pass Classic Season 8 Terminus shows that Blue Mammoth Games continues to make use of the vast content catalog built over the past years. Beyond nostalgia, these re-releases allow a new generation of players to discover some of the game’s best seasons.

With its blend of cyberpunk aesthetics, Darkheart experiments, and highly valued community rewards, Terminus returns as one of the most anticipated re-releases of the 2026 calendar. The question now is whether you will complete the pass this time or once again miss out on some of its most coveted rewards.
