One unit pursues and restrains its prey; the other crashes through defensive formations and leaves bleeding enemies behind. Those are the contrasting identities of the Eagle Warriors and Jaguar Warriors, the two new four-star units preparing to enter Conqueror’s Blade with Season 28: Aztecs – Eclipse.

The latest preview places both warriors at the center of the coming Aztec offensive. While they share the same seasonal origin and rarity, their battlefield responsibilities appear markedly different. Eagle Warriors are being presented as mobile hunters capable of locking down priority targets, whereas Jaguar Warriors are aggressive formation breakers built to force their way into contested positions.

Both units will join the game when the new season launches on September 29, 2026. They will be accompanied by a new five-star unit, the Shorn Ones, alongside the Tenochtitlan battlefield, the Divine Descent mechanic and an Aztec-inspired collection of seasonal cosmetics.

Eagle Warriors Bring Speed and Target Control to Season 28

The Eagle Warriors are officially defined by three concepts: hunting, sprinting and locking down. Their appearance reinforces that identity through eagle feathers, long spears, tribal war paint and a visual design intended to communicate speed even before they begin moving.

Although the complete ability list has not yet been published, those keywords establish a reasonably clear tactical profile. The Eagle Warriors appear designed to identify vulnerable targets, close the distance quickly and prevent them from escaping or repositioning. That could make them particularly useful when chasing weakened formations, intercepting exposed ranged units or disrupting enemies attempting to retreat from a failed engagement.

Their lockdown potential may also give commanders a way to create opportunities for slower allied units. Catching an enemy formation is only part of the job in Conqueror’s Blade; preventing it from withdrawing before reinforcements arrive can be equally important. A fast unit that can initiate a pursuit and hold its target in place could therefore contribute more than raw damage.

However, details such as the duration of their control effects, possible target restrictions, cooldowns and vulnerability during a sprint remain unknown. Until the full unit showcase or seasonal patch notes arrive, the Eagle Warriors should be viewed as mobile controllers rather than automatically assumed to be conventional cavalry replacements.

Jaguar Warriors Are Built to Breach Defensive Lines

Where the Eagle Warriors focus on the hunt, the Jaguar Warriors are described through the terms dash, breach and bleed. Their intended destination is not the open flank but the enemy’s defensive line, where they can apply direct pressure and attempt to tear a hole through a formation.

The combination of a forward dash and a breach-oriented role suggests a unit intended to seize the initiative. Rather than waiting for an opponent to expose a weakness, Jaguar Warriors may be able to create one by driving into tightly defended areas. Their bleeding effects should then punish enemies that survive the initial contact, potentially extending the threat beyond the first impact.

This profile could make them attractive during fights over gateways, supply points and narrow approaches, where dislodging a disciplined formation is often more valuable than pursuing individual targets. They may also complement units capable of exploiting the opening created by their initial assault.

Important mechanical questions nevertheless remain unanswered. The developer has not yet specified how bleeding will accumulate, which enemy types can resist the effect or whether the breach tools carry bonuses against shields and braced formations. The promotional language points toward an aggressive assault unit, but its effectiveness against established defensive options will depend on the numbers and interactions revealed closer to release.

Season 28 Teases a New Way to Capture the Enemy

The preview introduces another provocative idea: what if the spoils of war included enemy captives who could be conscripted directly into the player’s ranks?

That framing suggests capturing enemies may become part of the season’s broader identity, potentially connecting the new warriors to a recruitment or battlefield progression system. For now, however, it remains a teaser rather than a fully documented feature. The developer has not explained which enemies can be captured, how conscription would be activated or whether recruited fighters would remain available beyond the current battle.

It is therefore too early to describe the system as a permanent method of acquiring units or increasing their numbers. The official material establishes the concept, but its exact limitations and strategic importance will need to be clarified in a dedicated mechanics breakdown.

Tenochtitlan Creates a Battlefield of Causeways and Canals

The Eagle and Jaguar Warriors will arrive alongside Tenochtitlan, a new battlefield inspired by the Aztec imperial capital. The map is described as a city protected by lakes, causeways, bridges and canals, creating a setting in which controlling movement routes could be as important as winning direct confrontations.

That geography appears well suited to the new four-star units. Eagle Warriors could use their speed to contest routes or catch enemies moving between objectives, while Jaguar Warriors may become dangerous wherever bridges and narrow passages force defenders into concentrated formations.

Tenochtitlan will also introduce Divine Descent, a battlefield mechanic through which accumulated advantages can produce a sudden shift in the course of a match. The precise rules have not yet been disclosed, but the mechanic is intended to make momentum more volatile and give teams another strategic factor to consider beyond the conventional siege objectives.

The Shorn Ones Complete the New Seasonal Roster

Season 28 will contain three new seasonal units rather than only the two featured in this preview. The Shorn Ones will occupy the five-star position and are characterized by charging, counterattacking and holding the line.

Their heavy shields and more resolute battlefield presence distinguish them from the faster four-star additions. Where Eagle Warriors pursue and Jaguar Warriors penetrate, the Shorn Ones appear intended to absorb pressure and maintain control after ground has been captured.

Together, the three units form an unusually offensive seasonal roster with complementary roles. Eagle Warriors can potentially isolate targets, Jaguar Warriors can initiate a breach and the Shorn Ones can consolidate the resulting position. Whether those combinations become practical strategies will depend on their leadership costs, ability timing and performance against the existing unit roster.

Aztec-Inspired Cosmetics Accompany the New Season

The seasonal presentation will extend beyond units and maps. The Season 28 Battle Pass includes cosmetics drawing from Aztec-inspired materials and imagery, incorporating feathers, jade, leather, metal and woven fabrics.

Seasonal weapon attire is also planned, allowing players to carry the Eclipse aesthetic across their heroes as well as their armies. Complete reward tracks and acquisition requirements have not yet been detailed, but the announced visual direction is closely aligned with the season’s solar, nocturnal and warrior symbolism.

With the September 29 launch approaching, the most immediate choice is already taking shape. Commanders looking for mobility and control may be drawn toward the Eagle Warriors, while those who prefer direct assaults and sustained pressure will likely begin with the Jaguar Warriors. One hunts beneath the sun and the other attacks from the shadow, but both are preparing to make Season 28 considerably more dangerous.
