Delta Force is preparing to celebrate its second anniversary with Season “Reorientation,” a substantial update introducing the new Support Operator Rover, the expanded Layali Grove 2.0 map, the urban Warfare battleground The Mog and several new ways to play.
The update launches on September 8 across PC, mobile devices, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rather than presenting its additions as a conventional military briefing, the latest overview adopts the format of a travel vlog hosted by Rowan Walsh, better known by his Operator codename, Rover.
Rowan describes himself as someone who searches for remarkable views while his canine companion, Clover, discovers the places and secrets that other travellers overlook. The relaxed premise contrasts with the fighting awaiting them, but it provides an appropriate introduction to an Operator built around exploration, support and tracking enemies with the help of his four-legged partner.
Rover and Clover Join the Operator Roster
Rowan Walsh enters Delta Force as a new Support Operator available through the free track of the Reorientation Season Pass. His tactical identity combines remote assistance, enemy disruption and the tracking capabilities provided by Clover.
Rover’s signature gadget, Man’s Best Friend, uses a dog whistle to call Clover into the battle. Once deployed deployed, the military dog continuously searches for hostile targets within range. If Clover detects an enemy, he will lock onto the nearest opponent, pursue them, tackle them and apply a Mark.
When no enemy is available, Clover remains with Rowan and enters an alert state. This makes the companion useful both as an active offensive tool and as an early-warning system capable of detecting threats around the Operator.
Enemies struck by Rover’s other gadgets become easier for Clover to locate, creating a clear connection between the different parts of his kit. Rowan can disrupt an opponent first and then send his companion after the affected target, potentially forcing enemies out of cover or exposing their position to the rest of the squad.
His Dart Rifle changes slightly depending on the selected game mode. In Operations, its syringes release a lingering mist after impact. The cloud continuously treats injured limbs belonging to allies while reducing the maximum health of enemies and inflicting damage over time.
The Warfare version retains the offensive properties of the mist, reducing enemy maximum health and dealing persistent damage. Rover can consequently weaken groups controlling an objective without necessarily exposing himself to direct fire.
His final gadget is an Irritant Smoke Grenade that causes enemies caught inside the cloud to cough. Beyond disrupting their ability to operate comfortably, this can provide an audible indication of where affected targets are hiding.
Rover’s passive traits are also adapted to each half of Delta Force. Guard Drive extends the amount of time players can remain downed in Operations, while reviving an ally removes multiple stacks of limb injuries. In Warfare, Prey Drive causes Rover’s revives to replenish the rescued player’s ammunition.
The result is a flexible Support Operator who can keep teammates fighting while also creating opportunities for Clover to isolate and chase vulnerable enemies.
Layali Grove 2.0 Expands Beyond Its Original Boundaries
Rover’s interest in travel and hidden locations connects naturally with Layali Grove 2.0, one of the principal additions to Operations. The existing extraction map has received new areas, an expanded playable boundary and a redesigned river network connecting more of its locations.
Among the newly accessible points of interest are Serenity Bay, the North Slope Caves and the Haavk Underground Dock. Cover has been adjusted across parts of the map, while insertion points, supply containers and resource distribution have been revised to accommodate the expanded environment.
The previously inaccessible section of the Haavk WSR Lab has been opened, and the train extraction at Transnova Station will now progress more quickly. Its door opens one minute after the lever is activated, followed by the extraction window three minutes later instead of the previous five-minute delay.
Water transportation is taking on a significantly larger role. Four Jet Skis have been placed around the map and can travel through its connected river areas. Additional vehicles may appear when the new Wave Breaker objective is not active.
Wave Breaker is a Flagship Task centred on an Assault Boat concealed inside the Haavk Underground Dock. Squads must steal the boat, escort it for Reis and successfully extract it to receive the associated rewards. The Assault Boat remains usable after the objective has been completed, potentially giving the successful squad an important mobility advantage.
Layali Grove will also introduce three interactive characters: Joe Reed, Zola Zar and Taj Faris. Their presence is expected to uncover smaller stories and unusual encounters beyond the map’s main extraction objectives.
Fishing Adds a Different Kind of Operations Progression
Joe Reed serves another important purpose by introducing Delta Force’s new Fishing activity. Players must reach Operations Level 17 and locate him in the Easy version of Layali Grove before the system becomes available.
Fishing can then be performed in the Easy versions of Layali Grove, Zero Dam and AZ3. Operators can place rods, bait and other fishing equipment inside their EDC Tool Kit before entering a match and switch to the appropriate tool when they reach a suitable body of water.
Two different styles of equipment will be available. Float rods require players to monitor the float and reel in when it disappears beneath the surface. Lure rods introduce a more involved struggle in which players must react to the fish’s movement, manage line tension and gradually reduce its stamina.
Catching fish awards Fishing EXP and contributes towards a dedicated progression system. Higher certifications unlock more advanced rods, lines and bait capable of attracting rarer species.
A Gallery will record the rarity, size and weight of every fish personally caught by the player. These records remain registered even when the catch is not successfully extracted, reducing the risk of losing collection progress during a failed deployment.
Fishing is a notable change of pace for Delta Force. It does not replace the danger of an extraction match, since players must still enter contested environments, but it creates a quieter secondary objective for squads willing to search beyond weapons, valuables and mission targets.
The Mog Brings Urban Warfare to Mogadishu
Warfare players are receiving an entirely new battlefield called The Mog. Set across the damaged streets of modern Mogadishu, the map places a stronger emphasis on close infantry combat while preserving Delta Force’s larger combined-arms structure.
The battleground draws directly from the atmosphere associated with Black Hawk Down. Players will fight through crumbling urban districts filled with smoke, narrow routes and fortified positions where movement through exposed streets can become extremely dangerous.
The Mog also introduces a push-cart tug-of-war objective. Instead of attacking and defending a completely static location, both teams will contest control of an objective that can move in either direction depending on which side gains the advantage.
UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters provide suppressive aerial support during the battle, reinforcing the connection between infantry fighting and vehicle-based warfare. The combination of tight streets, moving objectives and air support should distinguish The Mog from Delta Force’s more open battlefields.
A limited Battle of The Mog event runs from September 8 through September 17. Completing its missions and accumulating event points will unlock rewards including the Mogadishu Calling Card and Premium Weapon EXP Tokens.
More Modes Will Arrive Throughout Reorientation
The anniversary update extends beyond Rover and its two principal maps. Polaris Patrol, a new Space City activity, is scheduled to become available on October 16.
This mode allows players to assume the identity of either Security Director Anais Desmoulins or one of her Adjutants. Choosing an identity changes the player’s appearance, abilities and available objectives, while opposing G.T.I. Operators can earn their own rewards by hunting the player-controlled Haavk squad.
A dedicated 1v1 Operations mode is also planned for the mid-season update. Players will bring their equipment into a direct confrontation and choose the battlefield, but their gear will not be consumed during the match. This should permit high-stakes loadouts without imposing the usual extraction-mode loss on the defeated competitor.
Reorientation additionally introduces the MDR Assault Rifle and Thompson Submachine Gun, new ammunition and attachments, extraction changes for Space City, balance adjustments and a new seasonal Warfare Challenge.
A Full Anniversary Season Rather Than a Single Content Drop
Season Reorientation’s events begin on September 8, although their end dates vary. The main second-anniversary celebration and Warfare Season Challenge are scheduled to continue until November 9, while map-specific missions and introductory activities have shorter availability windows.
Players can earn anniversary cosmetics, weapon appearances, Tactical Armament Vouchers, equipment tickets, TurBricks and other progression rewards. Rover is included on the free track of the new Season Pass, alongside additional weapon and vehicle appearances, tactical supplies and seasonal currencies.
Rover’s vlog offers a lighthearted introduction, but the destination is a sizeable Delta Force update. Between a canine-assisted Support Operator, an extensive reworking of Layali Grove, fishing progression, the streets of The Mog and modes arriving later in the season, Reorientation is designed to affect both Operations and Warfare rather than favouring only one side of the game.
Rowan and Clover may be looking for impressive views and hidden discoveries, but the rest of the squad should expect plenty of fighting along the way.
