Space City has spent long enough treating Anais Desmoulins as somebody Operators are supposed to fear. Polaris Patrol turns the relationship around, introducing a new Operations mini-mode where players can deploy as HAAVK Security Director Desmoulins herself or join her as one of two specialised Adjutants, gaining an entirely different ability set, friendly relations with most HAAVK forces and access to an exclusive extraction route. The mode is available now as part of Season 11: Reorientation and runs until January 27, 2027, giving Delta Force another attempt at making the enemy side of an extraction map playable rather than merely something to shoot.
The concept follows the groundwork established by Fiery Owl Hunt earlier this year, but Team Jade has expanded the formula considerably. Polaris Patrol is no longer simply about temporarily controlling a powerful boss. Desmoulins commands a neural-controlled combat vehicle, her Adjutants can physically attach gadgets to it, regular G.T.I. Operators are rewarded for hunting the squad and the event has its own Performance Rank, missions, limited cosmetics and red-quality collectibles. The result is closer to an asymmetrical extraction scenario operating inside familiar Operations maps.
Desmoulins turns Space City’s security system into your squad
The fundamental twist is allegiance. Once a player enters Polaris Patrol as Security Director Anais Desmoulins, most friendly HAAVK personnel remain neutral rather than behaving like the hostile NPC population encountered during a normal G.T.I. deployment. Hudson's units are the exception, reflecting the internal conflict currently surrounding HAAVK and giving the mode a narrative reason for Desmoulins to be fighting inside territory she supposedly controls.
Players cannot immediately select her from a menu, however. The Desmoulins File unlocks at Operations Level 33 and contains five mission branches, of which three need to be completed before the Director identity becomes available. Entering a raid as Desmoulins then consumes a Security Director's Work Badge. Those badges cost 250,000 Tekniq Alloys from the Supply Station, with four purchase slots initially available and another slot restored every 21 hours up to eight stored.
The two Adjutant roles are much easier to access. Heavy Guard Athos Leal and Comms Guard Aramis Orgueil are unlocked by default and require no Director's Work Badge, although they cannot deploy independently; somebody in the squad needs to be playing Desmoulins. The group can configure conventional loadouts or use normal and Polaris-specific Gear Tickets, so the mode still retains the economic decisions expected from Operations rather than handing everyone a completely consequence-free preset kit.
The Requin turns Desmoulins into a mobile command centre
Desmoulins' defining piece of equipment is the Neural-Controlled Vehicle, a remote HAAVK combat platform equipped with several modules. She can use its weapon station for machine-gun fire and grenade attacks, deploy a Threat Imaging System and send out a Seeker Bomb Vehicle that searches for enemy Operators before locking on and detonating.
Her Threat Imaging ability reinforces the command role by scanning and marking nearby threats for the entire squad. While active, Desmoulins also gains handling and ADS movement bonuses according to the weapon she is carrying, while using the system from the vehicle can provide target locks for compatible weapons. Her passive Weakness Analysis makes sustained engagements increasingly unpleasant for anyone she hits, slowing armour repair and certain medical actions while worsening the condition of enemies who enter the Downed state.
That makes Polaris Patrol play differently from dropping into Operations with a particularly powerful conventional Operator. Desmoulins is built around turning the whole squad into a coordinated security unit, using information and the Requin platform to control territory while her Adjutants exploit whatever opportunities the vehicle creates.
The Adjutants are strongest when they treat the vehicle as part of their own kit
Athos and Aramis make that system considerably more interesting because several of their gadgets can be attached directly to Desmoulins' Neural-Controlled Vehicle. Athos carries a Remote Bomb that can be manually detonated, but attaching it to the vehicle dramatically extends the automatic detonation timer. His Smoke Grenade can also stick to the Requin, allowing the vehicle to move while continuously producing concealment around itself.
Aramis handles information and explosive support. His Flare periodically scans for enemy Operators and can be mounted on the vehicle to transform it into a moving reconnaissance platform, while his Airburst Grenade can likewise be attached before detonating after its normal delay. Both Adjutants also share the HAAVK Elite trait, allowing them to drag downed allies to safety and gain a temporary movement-speed boost when Desmoulins or her vehicle damages an enemy nearby.
The interaction gives Polaris Patrol something Fiery Owl Hunt did not emphasise to the same degree: the special characters are not merely three strong individuals operating together. Their abilities are designed around the same piece of equipment, encouraging the squad to build combinations. A Requin covered by mobile smoke behaves very differently from one carrying Aramis' scanner, while attaching explosives creates another set of possibilities entirely.
Normal G.T.I. Operators now benefit from hunting the boss squad
The asymmetry works in both directions. Regular G.T.I. Operators can enter the same Operations and actively hunt player-controlled Desmoulins squads, and Polaris Patrol improves the incentives for doing so compared with Fiery Owl Hunt. Defeating Squad Desmoulins can award Performance Points, meaning players do not need to take the HAAVK side of the event to progress its reward structure.
Killing Desmoulins also creates access to some of the mode's most valuable opportunities. G.T.I. players can search her mezzanine for a chance at the limited red-quality Petite Madame and Requin Model collectibles, and the Director carries access connected to the special Space City route used by her squad. What was originally a privileged HAAVK escape path can therefore become a prize for the people who successfully remove its owner.
This is where the mini-mode fits especially well with extraction-shooter design. Playing the powerful character needs to feel desirable, but making that character valuable to everybody else produces the tension. A Desmoulins squad enters with unusual abilities and friendly security forces, but every regular Operator now has another reason to track it down.
Polaris Patrol turns progression into a second objective
Matches feed into a separate Performance Rank, with results determined by how well the squad performs during the operation. Director and Adjutant to-do missions award additional Performance Points, and completing the complete mission set grants an exclusive Medal of Honor. Increasing the rank then unlocks Director supplies, limited appearances and reward crates.
The headline cosmetic is the M700 – Serenity, an exclusive appearance for Delta Force's bolt-action sniper rifle. Polaris Patrol also introduces an exclusive HVK Whirlwind Enhanced Gas Block for the M700, which becomes craftable once the event reaches its Hunter stage and is limited to ten crafts per week. Desmoulins additionally has her own Avatar, Spray, Calling Card and Gesture among the progression rewards.
Team Jade is also running a broader HAAVK Attachments event from October 16 through November 9. Limited HVK components, including the Whirlwind Frame System and Whirlwind Enhanced Gas Block, can appear through the Auction House or at low probability inside Large Weapon Crates. The event therefore uses Polaris Patrol to push HAAVK's experimental equipment beyond Desmoulins' character abilities and into the wider Operations economy.
The red collectibles are more than expensive junk for the stash
The other major chase items are Petite Madame and the Requin Model, both limited red-quality collectibles obtainable through Director Reward Crates and through encounters with player-controlled Desmoulins. Finding both allows them to be assembled into the combined Petite Madame – Requin Model.
Unlike many valuable Operations items whose primary purpose is simply being sold, the assembled piece can be placed inside the player's EDC Tool Kit and taken into matches. That gives the reward a slightly different identity from the usual expensive Red: it remains a high-tier collectible but can also function as a tangible trophy from the event rather than immediately turning back into Tekniq Alloys.
The accompanying Petite Madame Rampage event runs through November 9 and adds further challenges and rewards around the new collectible pair. Taken together with Serenity and the HAAVK attachments, Polaris Patrol has considerably more permanent loot attached to it than a mini-mode designed solely as a short novelty.
The Director is fighting HAAVK’s enemies and HAAVK itself
Polaris Patrol also moves Desmoulins' story forward. Team Jade frames the mode around the consequences of the Space City incident, the AZ3 crisis and Hudson's increasingly aggressive behaviour, all of which have left the Security Director caught between the organisation she serves and a radical faction willing to ignore its own rules. Cami's accusations add a personal dimension to that conflict, putting Desmoulins under pressure professionally and privately.
The G.T.I. explanation for allowing players to inhabit her role is characteristically convoluted in the right way. Intelligence teams have supposedly decoded the special neural frequency used by Desmoulins and created a simulation of her perspective and behavioural patterns, using the resulting reconstruction to investigate what actually happened. The Desmoulins File consequently opens fragments of her personal memories before giving the player access to her identity.
That framing allows Team Jade to use gameplay to explore characters who normally appear as bosses or faction leaders. Fiery Owl Hunt did something similar with Saeed, retracing his transformation from village hunter to Ahsarah leader. Polaris Patrol now applies the concept to one of HAAVK's most recognisable figures while simultaneously developing the conflict within the corporation itself.
Polaris Patrol is the more ambitious evolution of Fiery Owl Hunt
The comparison with Fiery Owl Hunt is unavoidable because both modes reverse the normal perspective of Operations. That earlier event allowed players to become Saeed or one of his Guards, replacing their normal appearance and gadgets while building Fiery Owl Reputation through successful runs and missions.
Polaris Patrol keeps the strongest part of that idea — allowing players to become somebody they previously encountered from the opposite side of the gun — while making the surrounding match more interactive for everyone. G.T.I. Operators now receive Performance Points for defeating the event squad, the Director has special infrastructure inside Space City, Adjutant abilities combine directly with the Requin and limited Red collectibles create additional economic motivation for initiating a fight.
It makes the mode feel less like a separate boss-character challenge and more like an additional faction being inserted into an ordinary extraction lobby. Even somebody who has no intention of spending 250,000 Tekniq Alloys on a Work Badge can encounter the consequences of another player making that decision.
Space City is no longer the only place where the hunt happens
Despite the trailer's obvious focus on Space City, Polaris Patrol is not limited exclusively to that map. The mode supports Space City on Normal and Hard difficulty as well as AZ3 on Normal, expanding the Director's presence beyond the environment most strongly associated with HAAVK.
Space City remains the most distinctive implementation because Desmoulins has access to the executive elevator and exclusive extraction route in the garden. Those privileges make playing her there feel like controlling somebody who genuinely belongs inside the facility rather than simply using another Operator skin.
The AZ3 option matters for variety and for the story, however. The crisis there is explicitly part of the pressure now surrounding Desmoulins, so allowing Polaris Patrol into AZ3 ensures the mode is not mechanically disconnected from the events used to justify it.
The next Space City boss encounter may be another player
Polaris Patrol is available now in Delta Force Operations and remains active until January 27, 2027. Players can unlock Anais Desmoulins through her Level 33 File missions and deploy using Security Director's Work Badges, while Athos and Aramis can join as free-to-enter Adjutants whenever a Desmoulins is present in the squad. Performance progression leads toward M700 – Serenity, Director cosmetics, specialised HAAVK gear and the limited Petite Madame and Requin Model red collectibles.
More importantly, the mode changes what a familiar Operations encounter can be. Space City already had security, bosses, high-value rooms and Operators trying to escape with more than they brought in. Polaris Patrol takes one of the people responsible for that security structure, hands her to another player and tells everyone else in the lobby that killing her may be worth the risk.
You can run Space City as usual.
Or this time, you can be the reason everybody else has a difficult extraction.
