Dune: Awakening brings back iconic 90s soundtracks in its immersive in-game radio

Dune: Awakening pays tribute to its retro legacy by bringing the unforgettable soundtracks of Dune and Dune II: Battle for Arrakis to its in-game radio network, letting players enjoy this nostalgic audio experience while surviving the harsh deserts of Arrakis.

The Dune II soundtrack, composed by Frank Klepacki, and the remastered Dune: Spice Opera, by Philippe Ulrich and the late Stéphane Picq, are now part of the Communinet, the game’s centralized communications hub. Players can switch between three different radio channels, alongside urgent alerts and updates about sandstorms or Landsraad activity.

If you're gathering spice or building your settlement, Harvester Radio offers a working-class vibe with ads, survival tips, and music. Meanwhile, the Atreides and Harkonnen stations provide immersive world-building through propaganda, slave fight broadcasts, and political messages.

But it’s not just about music—narrative content like the radio play Five Days at Carthag will also be available starting April 8. Produced by the Arrakeen Playhouse, this multi-episode series dives into the untold truth behind the fall of Carthag, a key Harkonnen stronghold.

“Dune has a legacy in books and films – but also in video games,” said Joel Bylos, Chief Creative Officer. “It’s an honor to share these iconic soundtracks with a new generation through Dune: Awakening.”
