Save the World is going Free-to-Play, opening its doors to new players this April

After nearly a decade of cooperative adventures, Fortnite: Save the World is making history by announcing it will officially become Free-to-Play on April 16. The mode that birthed the Fortnite universe is gearing up to welcome a whole new generation of commanders.

Save the World is the original Fortnite co-op experience, where players team up to fortify bases, repel husks, and complete PvE missions while leveling up heroes, weapons, and abilities. With its transition to a free-to-play model, anyone can now jump in at no cost to explore its deep building, combat, and progression systems.

To celebrate this milestone, the team has opened a launch pre-registration system. Players who sign up before the official release date will earn exclusive in-game rewards, encouraging newcomers to assemble their squads from day one.

As a token of appreciation for those who supported the game over the years, current players will receive a massivethank-you package. Current players will be granted Superchargers, Vouchers, and Gold when the mode goes free on April 16.

With this move, Save the World returns to the heart of the Fortnite universe, bringing its tactical co-op gameplay to a much wider community. One question remains: when the gates finally open for everyone… will you rally your squad to save the world once more?
