Spider-Man has officially returned to Fortnite with a new collection inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, bringing Peter Parker and The Punisher into the Item Shop alongside the returning Hulk set.
The collaboration became available with the July 31, 2026 Item Shop refresh, only hours after Epic Games teased that Spider-Man would be bringing several “friendly-ish” characters with him.
That description refers primarily to Frank Castle and Hulk.
Neither character fits comfortably within the traditional sidekick role. The Punisher fundamentally disagrees with Spider-Man’s refusal to use lethal force, while Hulk can become just as dangerous to the surrounding environment as the enemies he is attempting to stop.
The new Brand New Day Bundle includes movie-inspired Outfits for Spider-Man and The Punisher, two Back Blings, two harvesting tools and a Spider-Sense Emote. Hulk appears beside them in the promotional trailer, but his cosmetics are part of a returning Fortnite collection rather than a newly created Brand New Day Outfit.
The Item Shop launch is only the cosmetic half of the crossover.
Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters return to Fortnite gameplay on August 1, restoring one of the most popular and influential mobility items ever added to Battle Royale.
Spider-Man returns in his Brand New Day suit
The new Spider-Man Outfit is based on Peter Parker’s appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Its design moves away from the heavily technological suits associated with Tony Stark and returns to a more traditional red-and-blue Spider-Man appearance.
The suit uses prominent raised webbing, a large chest emblem and a stronger visual separation between its red and blue sections. It resembles the final suit briefly revealed at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, while incorporating the updated design created for Brand New Day.
Epic Games describes the Outfit as “Your friendly, forgotten Spider-Man.”
That wording directly reflects Peter Parker’s situation after No Way Home.
The world still remembers Spider-Man, but Doctor Strange’s final spell removed every personal memory of Peter Parker. His friends, allies and former classmates no longer know the person underneath the mask.
The Outfit therefore represents a Spider-Man who remains publicly recognizable while being personally forgotten.
The Outfit includes masked and unmasked styles
Spider-Man (Brand New Day) includes two selectable styles.
Players can use the character with his mask on or remove it to reveal Peter Parker underneath.
The unmasked style uses Tom Holland’s likeness, making this another cinematic Spider-Man Outfit rather than a generalized comic-book interpretation of the character.
The option is important because Fortnite already contains several versions of Spider-Man.
The original Chapter 3 Battle Pass Outfit offered a classic comic-inspired appearance. The No Way Home collaboration introduced another Tom Holland version. Spider-Man Zero, Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Gwen expanded the available selection further.
Brand New Day needs a clear identity to avoid becoming redundant within that increasingly large collection.
The new suit, selectable mask and connection to Peter’s current cinematic story provide that distinction.
The Arachno-Pack is included with Spider-Man
Purchasing the Spider-Man Outfit for 1,500 V-Bucks also includes the Arachno-Pack Back Bling.
The Back Bling can alternatively be purchased separately for 300 V-Bucks.
Its appearance resembles a practical backpack rather than another spider-shaped technological device.
That more ordinary design fits the direction of Brand New Day.
Peter no longer possesses the same access to Stark technology, Avengers facilities or institutional support that defined much of his earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe journey.
A conventional backpack makes sense for a Spider-Man attempting to rebuild his civilian and heroic life without the resources previously available to him.
It also gives players an accessory that can be used more easily with other Outfits. Highly specific mechanical spider limbs or glowing emblems can be difficult to combine outside their original sets, while a recognizable backpack has broader Locker compatibility.
The Punisher makes his Fortnite debut
The Punisher joins Fortnite as a new Marvel Series Outfit.
Frank Castle is presented through his recognizable black tactical clothing and white skull emblem, creating a direct contrast with Spider-Man’s brighter superhero design.
The character costs 1,500 V-Bucks and includes Frank’s Goodie Bag Back Bling.
This marks The Punisher’s first official appearance as a playable Fortnite Outfit.
His arrival significantly expands the tone of Fortnite’s Marvel roster.
Spider-Man, Captain America and many of the Avengers are conventional superheroes who attempt to minimize casualties and protect civilians. Frank Castle is a vigilante who believes violent criminals should be permanently eliminated.
He does not arrest enemies or attempt to rehabilitate them.
He punishes them.
That philosophy creates the “friendly-ish” relationship referenced in the trailer.
The Punisher may fight the same enemies as Spider-Man, but the two characters rarely agree on what should happen once those enemies have been defeated.
Frank’s Goodie Bag contains everything a vigilante expects to need
Frank’s Goodie Bag is included with The Punisher Outfit and can also be purchased separately for 300 V-Bucks.
Epic Games describes it with the instruction: “Always come prepared.”
The name deliberately understates the kind of equipment Frank Castle normally carries.
For most characters, a goodie bag might contain food, supplies or personal items. For The Punisher, preparation generally means carrying enough weapons and ammunition to confront an entire criminal organization.
The Back Bling reinforces his tactical identity without changing gameplay.
As with every cosmetic backpack, it does not provide additional ammunition, inventory space or combat advantages. Its purpose is to complete the visual presentation of The Punisher and provide another accessory compatible with other Fortnite Outfits.
Frank’s Arsenal provides a dedicated harvesting tool
The Punisher receives Frank’s Arsenal as his corresponding Pickaxe.
It is priced at 800 V-Bucks when purchased separately.
Epic Games describes the harvesting tool with the phrase “Up close. Personal.”
That wording reflects the distinction between Frank Castle’s tactical equipment and Spider-Man’s improvised web weapon.
The Punisher is comfortable fighting at any distance. Even when firearms are unavailable, he uses knives, axes and whatever other equipment remains within reach.
Fortnite cannot translate his normal lethal arsenal directly into a cosmetic advantage.
Frank’s Arsenal instead provides a harvesting tool that fits his close-quarters identity while functioning according to the same gameplay rules as every other Pickaxe.
The Web Flail turns Spider-Man’s webbing into a weapon
Spider-Man receives the Web Flail, another new Pickaxe priced at 800 V-Bucks.
The tool transforms webbing into a flexible striking weapon rather than using a conventional blade or blunt object.
Epic describes it as “The ultimate web-pon.”
That design is particularly appropriate for Peter Parker.
Spider-Man frequently uses web fluid for considerably more than swinging between buildings. He creates restraints, shields, nets, temporary structures and improvised tools according to the immediate situation.
A flail formed from webbing presents another example of that creativity.
It also gives the Brand New Day Outfit a dedicated harvesting animation without requiring Peter to carry a traditional weapon that would conflict with his normal fighting style.
Spider-Sense becomes a new Emote
The collection includes a Spider-Sense Emote priced at 300 V-Bucks.
Spider-Sense is one of Peter Parker’s most important abilities.
It warns him of immediate danger before he consciously identifies the source, allowing him to avoid bullets, attacks and environmental threats that would otherwise be impossible to perceive in time.
Fortnite translates that ability into an Emote rather than a passive gameplay mechanic.
Using the Emote does not reveal nearby enemies or warn the player about an approaching shot. It is a visual performance intended to represent Peter reacting to the familiar tingling sensation.
This distinction is necessary for competitive balance.
A cosmetic Emote cannot provide information unavailable to other players. The actual tactical value of Spider-Sense remains part of the character fantasy rather than becoming a paid detection ability.
The complete Brand New Day Bundle costs 2,400 V-Bucks
The Brand New Day Bundle is available for 2,400 V-Bucks.
It contains seven items:
Spider-Man (Brand New Day), the Arachno-Pack, The Punisher, Frank’s Goodie Bag, the Spider-Sense Emote, the Web Flail and Frank’s Arsenal.
Epic lists the combined original value at 4,900 V-Bucks, creating a discount of 2,500 V-Bucks for players purchasing the complete collection.
The bundle therefore costs less than buying the two Outfits individually.
Spider-Man and The Punisher would cost 3,000 V-Bucks together, even before adding either Pickaxe or the Emote. Anyone interested in both characters receives substantially better value from the complete set.
Players interested in only one character have more reason to purchase the corresponding Outfit offer separately.
Spider-Man costs 1,500 V-Bucks with the Arachno-Pack included. The Punisher also costs 1,500 V-Bucks and includes Frank’s Goodie Bag.
The bundle’s value depends on whether the additional character and harvesting tools will actually be used.
Hulk returns through his established Fortnite collection
Hulk appears beside Spider-Man and The Punisher in the new trailer, but he is not receiving a separate Brand New Day Outfit.
The Fortnite Item Shop confirms that the returning character belongs to the previously released Hulk Bundle.
This is an important distinction.
The new Spider-Man and Punisher cosmetics are marked as Brand New Day items introduced during Chapter 7 Season 3. Hulk’s current collection returns as an existing Fortnite set placed beside them for the film promotion.
The character still has a clear connection to Brand New Day.
Hulk is part of the movie’s current campaign and represents the third major personality surrounding Peter Parker’s new adventure.
However, players should not expect a new Mark Ruffalo-inspired Bruce Banner style or a separate costume specifically modelled after the film.
The returning Hulk Outfit is Fortnite’s established interpretation of the character.
The Hulk Bundle costs 1,800 V-Bucks
The Hulk Bundle is currently available for 1,800 V-Bucks, reduced from a listed combined value of 2,600 V-Bucks.
It includes the Hulk Outfit, Gamma Chamber Back Bling, Demolisher Pickaxe, Warning: Gamma Rays Spray and HULK SMASH! Emote.
The Hulk Outfit can also be purchased for 1,500 V-Bucks.
The Gamma Chamber Back Bling is reactive and charges as the player earns eliminations.
This gives the accessory a visible progression effect during matches without changing the damage or abilities of the person wearing it.
The Demolisher Pickaxe can be customized using Sprays from the player’s Locker.
That feature makes it considerably more flexible than a standard fixed-design harvesting tool. Players can apply different Spray artwork and create combinations unrelated to Hulk’s original green-and-purple colour scheme.
Hulk completes the crossover’s three-way contrast
Spider-Man, The Punisher and Hulk represent three fundamentally different approaches to power.
Peter Parker attempts to control his strength and prevent unnecessary harm. Even when fighting dangerous criminals, he remains conscious of how easily his abilities could kill an ordinary person.
Frank Castle views restraint as a weakness when dealing with violent enemies. He believes permanent force prevents future victims, regardless of whether Spider-Man considers that approach morally unacceptable.
Hulk represents uncontrolled escalation.
Bruce Banner may want to solve a problem carefully, but Hulk can transform one confrontation into a major environmental disaster within seconds.
That difference explains why the trailer describes Spider-Man’s companions as only “friendly-ish.”
They may stand on the same side temporarily, but cooperation does not mean agreement.
The Item Shop launch follows Fortnite’s exclusive movie preview
Epic Games revealed the collaboration through an earlier video containing an exclusive look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Tom Holland introduced footage from the film before confirming that Web Shooters and several movie-inspired Outfits would be coming to Fortnite.
The second trailer shifts the focus entirely toward the game.
It no longer needs to conceal which characters are involved. Spider-Man, The Punisher and Hulk appear together, establishing the complete promotional lineup shortly before the cosmetics enter the Item Shop.
The two videos perform separate functions.
The first uses Fortnite as a platform for promoting the movie. The second uses the film’s characters to promote the Fortnite content now available to players.
Web Shooter gameplay returns on August 1
The Brand New Day cosmetics are already available, but Spider-Man’s most important gameplay feature returns one day later.
Web Shooter gameplay is scheduled to return on August 1, 2026.
Epic Games has not yet provided a complete public breakdown of the new version’s charge count, cooldown, spawn rate or supported playlists.
Those details will determine how much influence the item has on the current Battle Royale metagame.
The central mechanic is already familiar.
Players attach web lines to environmental surfaces and use their momentum to swing across the Island. Releasing at the correct point preserves speed, while connecting another web allows several swings to be chained together.
The item creates significantly more freedom than a normal movement boost.
It allows players to cross rivers, climb structures, escape the Storm and approach elevated opponents without following conventional ground routes.
Web Shooters first transformed Fortnite during Chapter 3
Spider-Man’s original Web-Shooters entered Fortnite during Chapter 3 Season 1 in December 2021.
They were closely connected to The Daily Bugle, the Spider-Man Battle Pass Outfit and the introduction of the Chapter 3 Island.
The item immediately became one of the season’s defining mechanics.
Players could move between buildings, forests and cliffs at high speed while preserving enough momentum to cover considerable distances.
Fortnite later reintroduced the concept through the Spider-Verse Web-Shooters during the Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2099 crossover in 2023.
That version maintained the basic swinging fantasy while changing the visual presentation to match Miles Morales.
Brand New Day now provides another reason to bring the mechanic back.
The environment determines how effective Web Shooters become
Web Shooters depend heavily on the surrounding terrain.
Urban areas provide walls, towers and other reliable attachment points. Forests can offer trees capable of supporting repeated swings. Open areas are more dangerous because players may run out of usable surfaces before reaching safety.
This relationship gives the item more depth than a simple teleport or launch ability.
Players must plan where the next web will connect before releasing the current swing.
A route through dense structures can maintain momentum for a long period. Entering an exposed area without another attachment point can leave the player falling predictably toward the ground.
Map knowledge therefore becomes part of mechanical execution.
The strongest Web Shooter players do not only understand when to activate the item. They understand which route will allow them to continue using it.
The item changes both attack and retreat
Web Shooters can be used to initiate fights.
A player can reach rooftops, bypass defensive terrain or attack from an angle the opposing squad was not monitoring.
They are equally effective for disengagement.
Someone losing a fight can create immediate distance, move behind terrain and begin healing before the opponent can follow through conventional movement.
That flexibility is one of the main reasons the item can become difficult to balance.
Mobility reduces the consequences of poor positioning.
A player who enters an unfavourable engagement may still escape if enough charges and attachment points remain available.
The item can also make eliminations harder to confirm.
Damaged opponents can swing away before the attacking team closes the distance, forcing players to carry their own mobility item or accept that the fight has ended.
High availability could reshape late-game circles
The impact of the returning Web Shooters will depend heavily on their availability.
If they appear frequently, many surviving players may carry them during the final circles.
That can produce highly mobile endgames where contestants repeatedly swing between structures, avoid ground combat and wait for opponents to become vulnerable.
If the item is too rare, the few players who obtain it may possess a substantial rotational advantage unavailable to most of the lobby.
Charge limits and cooldowns can control that power.
A player should need to decide whether one swing is worth consuming a limited resource rather than moving with almost permanent freedom.
Epic Games has not yet confirmed whether the August 1 version will reproduce the original rules or introduce another balance model.
Cosmetics and Web Shooters remain separate
Buying the Brand New Day Bundle does not provide earlier access to Web Shooters or improve their performance.
The cosmetics and gameplay item are separate parts of the collaboration.
Players can use Web Shooters while wearing any compatible Fortnite Outfit.
They do not need to purchase Spider-Man, The Punisher or Hulk.
Similarly, owning the new Spider-Man Outfit does not guarantee that the player will find the item during a match.
This separation preserves Fortnite’s competitive structure.
The Item Shop sells visual customization. The gameplay mechanic remains available through the rules and loot systems of the active mode.
The new Spider-Man collection is available until August 9
The official Fortnite web shop currently lists the Brand New Day Bundle, Spider-Man, The Punisher and the returning Hulk collection as purchasable until August 9, 2026.
That gives players more than one week to decide which parts of the crossover they want.
The fixed availability window is particularly useful for anyone waiting to see the cosmetics in normal matches rather than relying entirely on promotional footage.
Players can also evaluate the Web Shooters after their August 1 return before deciding whether the complete thematic collection is worth purchasing.
Item Shop availability can still be subject to regional display differences and Epic Games’ normal rotation policies, so the in-game Shop remains the definitive reference for each account.
Spider-Man has become one of Fortnite’s most important crossover characters
Spider-Man has appeared in Fortnite through more forms than almost any other licensed superhero.
The original comic-inspired Outfit was a major Battle Pass reward.
No Way Home brought Tom Holland and Zendaya-inspired characters into the Item Shop. Spider-Man Zero connected the character to Fortnite’s Marvel comic crossover.
Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2099 represented Across the Spider-Verse, while Spider-Gwen became another major Battle Pass character.
The repeated collaborations work because Spider-Man contributes more than cosmetic recognition.
Web Shooters alter how the entire game is played.
His supporting characters provide additional collections.
The multiverse allows Epic Games to introduce visually distinct interpretations without treating every version as an identical rerelease.
Brand New Day continues that structure.
It provides another cinematic Peter Parker, introduces The Punisher and brings Hulk back into the Shop while restoring the traversal mechanic most strongly associated with Spider-Man’s original Fortnite season.
The Punisher is the collection’s most significant new addition
Spider-Man is the headline character, but The Punisher represents the largest expansion of Fortnite’s Marvel roster.
Peter Parker and Hulk have both appeared before.
Frank Castle has not.
His debut introduces a character associated with a much harsher form of superhero fiction than Fortnite’s existing Spider-Man content.
The Brand New Day Bundle uses that contrast effectively.
Spider-Man receives web equipment, a practical backpack and an Emote representing his danger sense.
The Punisher receives tactical storage and a close-range arsenal.
Their cosmetic identities immediately communicate why cooperation between them is likely to be uncomfortable.
Brand New Day gives Fortnite a complete launch rather than another isolated skin
The new trailer confirms that Spider-Man’s return is not limited to one Outfit.
The collaboration includes two new playable characters, associated Back Blings, dedicated Pickaxes, an Emote, a returning Hulk collection and the restoration of Web Shooter gameplay.
The complete Brand New Day Bundle is now available for 2,400 V-Bucks, while the individual Spider-Man and Punisher offers cost 1,500 V-Bucks each.
Hulk returns through his established 1,800-V-Buck bundle rather than receiving a separate movie-inspired Outfit.
Web Shooters follow on August 1.
Spider-Man may be entering a new cinematic chapter, but his Fortnite strategy remains familiar.
Find a structure. Fire the web.
Try not to let The Punisher decide what happens next.
