Free Fire is returning to the Hidden Leaf Village for another battle against the Nine-Tails. Garena is bringing back the first chapter of its NARUTO SHIPPUDEN collaboration in September 2026, combining familiar locations, Ninjutsu and character bundles with several additions designed specifically for this renewed version of the event.

The Nine-Tails is once again the centrepiece, but it will no longer function exclusively as an unpredictable battlefield threat. The returning collaboration introduces a mechanic that allows players to control the creature, accompanied by a new technique inspired by Hinata Hyuga, a Ninja Academy location, themed revival systems and the ability to summon Gamakichi for supplies.

Hinata also joins Free Fire’s collection of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN-inspired bundles. Players will be able to choose between her new bundle and the returning Jiraiya bundle as a major free reward during the campaign.

Advance event information places the collaboration between September 16 and October 15, 2026. As Free Fire schedules can occasionally differ between regional servers, players should confirm the precise opening time and mission conditions through their local in-game event calendar.

Chapter 1 Returns with More Than Recycled Content

The original Free Fire x NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1 ran from January 10 to February 8, 2025. It represented Garena’s largest anime collaboration at the time and made substantial changes to both Battle Royale and Clash Squad.

Rather than limiting the crossover to costumes, weapon appearances and menu decorations, Garena reconstructed the Hidden Leaf Village inside Bermuda. The Nine-Tails could attack different parts of a Battle Royale match, while Ninjutsu scrolls and Ninja Tools gave players access to abilities inspired by the anime.

Chapter 2: Ninja War followed later in 2025, shifting the conflict towards the Akatsuki and introducing another selection of powers, locations and collectibles. The September 2026 campaign returns to the original Nine-Tails invasion but incorporates features that were not available during its first appearance.

That makes the new event an expanded revival rather than a conventional rerun. Familiar mechanics and environments will return, but players who participated in 2025 will still have new abilities and rewards to discover.

Players Can Finally Control the Nine-Tails

During the original Chapter 1 event, the Nine-Tails appeared as an external force capable of changing the conditions of a match. At the beginning of Battle Royale, it could strike the aircraft, an arsenal or the ground. The chosen target determined which special event occurred, forcing players to adapt their plans before or after landing.

The 2026 version makes the creature directly interactive. A new ability identified in advance campaign material as Sharingan: Control allows a player to take command of the Nine-Tails during the thematic Battle Royale experience.

Garena has not yet published every mechanical detail through its global website. Important competitive variables—including the transformation’s duration, damage output, activation conditions and whether the controlling player remains vulnerable—will therefore need to be confirmed from the live event rules.

Nevertheless, the concept represents a significant escalation from the first collaboration. The Nine-Tails is no longer simply attacking the battlefield according to a random event. At least one player will be able to weaponise its power, potentially making control of the necessary skill or item a contested objective.

If the mechanic follows the approach used in previous Free Fire collaborations, obtaining that power is likely to involve meaningful risk. Highly visible event abilities tend to reveal a player’s position, attract opposing squads or require interaction with dangerous areas. Until Garena publishes the full rules, however, those possibilities remain reasonable expectations rather than confirmed features.

Hidden Leaf Village Returns to Bermuda

The Hidden Leaf Village is also returning as one of the collaboration’s most recognisable locations. Its original Free Fire reconstruction replaced Rim Nam Village on Bermuda and contained several landmarks recreated from NARUTO SHIPPUDEN.

Players could visit Hokage Rock, enter the Hokage Mansion, explore the Exam Arena and stop at Naruto’s House. Ichiraku Ramen Shop also provided a gameplay benefit: eating a bowl of ramen granted an automatic EP regeneration effect that remained active throughout the match.

These landmarks helped the original event feel like a genuine integration rather than a decorated corner of an existing location. The village was large enough to become a major landing destination, with its special items and recognisable layout encouraging players to contest it during the opening stages.

The renewed Chapter 1 campaign adds a Ninja Academy to the map. Public promotional material has not yet established whether the academy will be part of the main Hidden Leaf reconstruction or appear as a separate destination, but it expands the selection of environments connected to the collaboration.

From a tactical perspective, the value of these locations will depend on their loot. The original village contained an increased concentration of Ninjutsu scrolls and Ninja Tools, making it attractive even to players primarily interested in winning rather than exploring anime references.

That same balance will be important in 2026. A collaboration location becomes relevant to the actual match when it offers useful equipment, but generous rewards also make it a dangerous place to land.

Ninjutsu Returns to the Battle Royale

Ninjutsu abilities and Ninja Tools are returning as lootable equipment. These items allow players to temporarily move beyond Free Fire’s traditional selection of firearms, explosives and Gloo Walls by introducing attacks and defensive techniques inspired by the anime.

During the first chapter, players could locate Ninjutsu scrolls around the map. Projectile techniques were capable of destroying Gloo Walls on impact, while charge-based techniques inflicted direct damage on their target. The collaboration also used skill cards to translate signature attacks into temporary battlefield abilities.

The returning event retains that foundation while adding at least one new Ninjutsu: Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation. Inspired by the Hyuga clan’s Gentle Fist techniques, the ability generates a circular effect around its user.

Garena has not yet provided complete written statistics for the technique, so its precise function should not be overstated. Promotional material establishes its appearance and connection to Hinata, but does not fully confirm whether it blocks projectiles, damages nearby opponents, displaces enemies or combines several effects.

Its arrival nevertheless gives Hinata a presence beyond her cosmetic bundle. The new character is connected directly to one of the event’s gameplay additions, placing the Hyuga fighting style alongside the returning collection of Ninjutsu.

Players should expect these abilities to affect decisions surrounding Gloo Walls and close-range engagements. Any technique capable of bypassing protection, controlling an area or creating unusual movement can alter Free Fire’s normal combat rhythm, particularly during the final circles where available space is limited.

Gamakichi Can Be Summoned for Supplies

Another new mechanic allows players to summon Gamakichi to obtain loot. Promotional material shows the toad appearing alongside the player and leaving resources on the ground.

This is not Free Fire’s first use of the Mount Myoboku toads. The original collaboration introduced the game’s first Super Emote, which summoned Gamabunta during non-combat situations. The 2026 campaign turns a similar concept into a practical Battle Royale interaction.

Gamakichi’s exact loot pool has not yet been detailed publicly. It is therefore unclear whether the summon delivers standard weapons and consumables, collaboration-exclusive Ninja Tools or a mixture of both.

The strength of the rewards will determine whether the summon becomes a central objective or a smaller support mechanic. If it can supply rare Ninjutsu, squads may have a strong reason to protect the player initiating it. If it provides ordinary resources, it will function more as a convenient way to recover after an engagement.

Reanimation Brings Defeated Ninjas Back

The themed revival system is returning as well. Chapter 1 originally replaced the conventional re-entry presentation with Summoning Reanimation Jutsu. Revived players returned to the match with stronger default equipment than they previously received from standard Revival Points.

The 2026 campaign once again promotes Reanimation as part of the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN experience. This mechanic does not eliminate Free Fire’s revival rules, but gives them a thematic presentation and may modify the equipment available after returning.

Revival systems are particularly important in squad-based Battle Royale because they influence how aggressively a team can approach an objective. If eliminated players can return with serviceable equipment, their squad has a better chance of recovering without immediately searching for an entirely new loadout.

The live event information should be consulted before assuming that the 2025 equipment bonuses remain unchanged. Garena has confirmed the thematic concept’s return, but the balance values may have been adjusted for the new campaign.

Hinata and Jiraiya Headline the Free Rewards

Players will be able to choose between a Hinata bundle and a Jiraiya bundle as the collaboration’s principal free reward.

Hinata is the major new addition. Her arrival was teased alongside the return of the Hidden Leaf Village and is supported by the introduction of Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation. The bundle gives players a cosmetic set inspired by her NARUTO SHIPPUDEN appearance.

Jiraiya’s bundle originally appeared during the 2025 collaboration as a mission reward. Bringing it back as the alternative free selection provides returning players with another opportunity to obtain it while giving newcomers a choice between two popular characters.

Players should select carefully if the event only permits one of the two sets to be claimed. Garena’s promotion explicitly presents Hinata or Jiraiya as a choice, not as two bundles automatically awarded together.

The exact mission requirements have not yet been described in the global announcement. Players should therefore avoid assuming that the selected bundle will be granted immediately after logging in. It may require completing event objectives or accumulating dedicated tokens before the reward can be claimed.

Additional themed rewards and collectibles are also promised. The original Chapter 1 collection included bundles based on Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake, Sakura Haruno and Jiraiya, alongside the Naruto-themed M4A1, Snake Sword katana, Ninja Run emote, Hokage Rock Gloo Wall and Ninja’s Scroll backpack.

Garena has not confirmed that every item from the 2025 catalogue will return through the same acquisition methods. Prices, regional availability and whether an item is earned or purchased should be checked individually in the live game.

A Stronger Return to the Hidden Leaf

The first NARUTO SHIPPUDEN collaboration was already notable for changing how Free Fire matches played. Its return expands that concept by making the Nine-Tails controllable and adding mechanics tied to Hinata, Gamakichi and the Ninja Academy.

There are still details that require clarification, especially the exact rules governing Sharingan: Control and Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation. Those values will determine whether the collaboration’s powers are entertaining temporary additions or dominant tools that reshape every encounter.

What is already clear is that Garena is not relying exclusively on nostalgia. The Hidden Leaf Village, Ninjutsu and Ninja Tools provide the familiar foundation, while the new abilities and rewards give previous participants a reason to return.

Free Fire x NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Chapter 1 is scheduled to return during September 2026, with advance campaign material indicating an event window from September 16 to October 15. The Nine-Tails is back—but this time, players will not have to settle for watching it attack from a distance.
