Deathwing returns undefeated, unleashing THE CATACLYSM in Hearthstone’s next expansion

Azeroth peers into the abyss once more. THE CATACLYSM, Hearthstone’s upcoming expansion, arrives on March 17 with a narrative twist that raises the stakes to unprecedented levels. This time, Deathwing was never defeated. In an alternate timeline born of chaos, Murozond has smashed the Hourglass of Time, opening a nightmare future where the Destroyer never fell.

This undefeated Deathwing does not arrive alone. The expansion introduces six terrifying Lieutenants, ready to raze Azeroth once again. The tone is set from the start: the situation is even worse than the original Cataclysm, and the world's survival once again hangs by a thread.

In terms of gameplay, THE CATACLYSM marks several major milestones. For the first time in the game’s history, Deathwing becomes a Hero Card, while Colossal minions take centre stage as the core pieces of the siege. Adding to the chaos is the new keyword, Herald, marking the beginning of the end, and Shatter, a mechanic designed to unleash devastating effects and swing the tempo of the match.

To face this unprecedented threat, the heroes won't fight alone. Chromie returns to manipulate time and prepare the counterattack, calling upon the power of the five dragonflights. Her aid is more than symbolic: she will send two full sets of cards straightinto your collection, expanding your strategic options from day one.

With THE CATACLYSM, Hearthstone delivers its most ambitious expansion yet—in both narrative and design—promising to shake up the meta and return Deathwing to the spotlight as the greatest threat the Tavern has ever seen. More information here.
