Filthy Animals | Heist Simulator

If you ever imagined yourself being part of a heist in the purest style of Payday, but as a mutant animal, with clumsy controls and a design that embraces the most absurd chaos, Filthy Animals | Heist Simulator has exactly what you are looking for. This title developed by Pewter Games Studios and LoPoly Games combines the action of heist games with the madness of co-op party games. The result is an experience that relies on chaos, ridiculous physics and the most irreverent humor to create a unique formula.

Chaotic co-op with a party game flavour

The playable proposal of Filthy Animals is simple in appearance, but it quickly turns into a mayhem festival. We control a group of mutant animals that must execute a series of heists in different environments: banks, laboratories, museums and even secret military bases. But there is no place for meticulous planning here, everything boils down to improvising, adapting and, above all, laughing at the disaster.

The deliberately clumsy control of the characters is reminiscent of titles such as Human: Fall Flat or Gang Beasts, where the over-the-top physics are part of the fun. Between slips, silly falls and flying objects, each mission becomes a real digital slapstick show. This is accentuated in the local and online co-op mode, where the chaos multiplies with each new player.

Varied levels, crazy objectives and constant surprises

The game is divided into chapters, each with several levels interconnected by a narrative as absurd as the protagonists. The main goal is always to complete a heist, but there are multiple ways to do it, and the important thing is not the "how", but the disaster you generate along the way.

Throwing things, smashing furniture, unintentionally electrocuting yourself or blowing yourself up are things that just happen. The game rewards experimentation (and mistakes) with comical reactions, unexpected explosions and constant surprise effects. This game is not to be taken seriously, and that lack of seriousness makes it tremendously fun.

In addition, there are power-ups, special abilities and simple puzzles that break the monotony and add a light layer of strategy. But don't expect accuracy: Filthy Animals is here to make you and your friends laugh.

Caricatured aesthetics and shameless humour

The visual section perfectly reinforces the proposal of the game. The scenarios are designed in a caricatured style filled with colour and exaggeration. It all feels like some kind of interactive cartoon where physics and logic have been thrown away.

The design of the mutant animals is grotesquely charming, with clumsy movements and bizarre expressions that enhance the visual comedy. The music and sound effects are accompanied by light-hearted themes and effects that emphasize each fall, blow or explosion in an exaggerated way.

And, of course, the dubbing of the human mafia boss who gives the orders is a constant parody of the clichés of heist cinema. His phrases, full of tacos and absurd humour, give a very marked identity to the game.

A perfect experience for some chaos with friends

Filthy Animals | Heist Simulator is not a game for those who are looking for precision or competence, but for those who enjoy laughter and chaos. The best way to play it is with friends, where absurd situations and unpredictable physics generate memorable moments. Played solo, it can lose some fun, but it is still an entertaining experience thanks to the unpredictable level design.

Mind you, it's not a game for everyone. The visual style, clumsy controls and the peculiar sense of humour might be too extreme for players looking for a more conventional experience. But if you are one of those who enjoy titles like Overcooked, Moving Out or Totally Reliable Delivery Service, here you are going to find your new obsession.
