Injustice 2 - Chapter 1 - The fall of the gods

In the present day Bruce Wayne testified before a court about the events and situations that turned Superman from the greatest hero to the worst threat in the world.

Several years in the past Batman and Robin, aboard the Batplane, were heading towards the Arkham Asylum to prevent Superman from moving all the insane criminals. On the trip they began to argue as Damian supported Superman's idea about killing criminals.  Suddenly the aircraft was intercepted and both heroes had to get ejected. Planning near the old Gotham theater they were hampered by Cyborg with the purpose of preventing them from reaching their destination. Once they finished with Victor, Batman and Robin managed to reach Arkham and violently defeated the guards. At the entrance Batman came face to face with Wonder Woman who reprimanded him because he was not helping Superman to change the world. Obstinate with the idea of saving Clark from himself, Bruce confronted Diana and after defeating her he used his own Lasso of Truth to discover Superman's location.

A few minutes later, in Hall C, the inmates tried to rebel against the guards because they did not know where they were going to be transferred. The sudden appearance of Superman ended the revolt, but the situation became even more tense when Batman entered the scene. Faced because of their ideas of what should be done to end the crime, Bruce blew up a red sun light grenade to weaken his friend so he could face him on equal terms. Shortly after, Superman felt defeated, but Robin unexpectedly appeared dragging Victor Zsasz with a batarang stuck to his neck. Once he got the criminal to confess each of his murders, Damian sliced his throat to show Batman that this was the only way to end the crime. Enraged and confused, Batman fought and defeated Robin, but still Robin continued to treat him like a coward for having let the Joker live so long even if he had ended up with so many innocent lives. Having reached a point of no return, Superman took Robin's hand and they both left the asylum leaving Batman next to Zsasz's body.

In the present day Lucius Fox has asked Bruce to try to change his public image in order to gain the confidence of citizens who felt insecure because Black Adam and Wonder Woman were never captured and, therefore, were afraid that their cities were destroyed again. Before leaving, Lucius recommended Bruce to expand his circle of confidence to be able to achieve the goals he was not achieving. Shortly after, Bruce met with Green Arrow and Black Canary and invited them to the new Batcave built in the city's abandoned subway. There he introduced them to Brother Eye, a worldwide surveillance system controlled by Harley Quinn that kept them constantly alert about the actions of their enemies. With Dinah and Oliver intrigued by the reason of the meeting, Bruce informed them about the emergence of a group of villains led by Gorila Grodd known as “The Society”, that thanks to an informant's report in Gorilla City, were planning something related with a shipment of Fear Gas that the Scarecrow was going to send from the swamp slaughterhouse. After this series of events the heroes decided to intercept the cargo.
