Morkredd

Morkredd is a fantastic, very original game comprised of puzzles and requiring skill. The fact that you can enjoy it alone or with others (without the number of characters on screen or mechanics of the game being altered) means you can enjoy two very different perspectives, which are equally enjoyable. Control the two main characters using the joystick on your controller if playing alone (we recommend playing with a controller, though you can also use a keyboard and mouse) or hook up with a friend and each have your own character. Coordination is essential as you move through this world of darkness pushing the Orb. Watch out, the slightest contact with any shadow is lethal, including those cast by characters.

In order to progress you must solve puzzles by using switches, transporting objects and by coordinating both characters to carry out tasks simultaneously in puzzle and skill sections which, while not overly complex, are very satisfying to solve.

The dark, unsettling atmosphere is superb and makes for an exciting environment to play in, yet the brevity of the game and a certain lack of depth prevent it from reaching greater heights. That said, it’s very worth playing and is especially good to play with someone who doesn’t play regularly – it’s sure to provide great memories.

One of the main appeals of the world of video games is how innovative it is and how often it surprises with original, new ideas that allow us to experience new things. Since what has become known as the indie explosion of video game development, this sector in particular has provided us with some of the biggest and best surprises in videogaming in recent years. And Morkredd can be counted among them thanks to its innovative game mechanics and staging.
