Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 Grand Prix is a much better sequel to the first installment. Nickelodeon Kart Racers went through failed in the market due to the small number of characters, lack of variety in the races, and mechanics that made the experience simply not enjoyable.

Luckily, Bamtang took the fan criticism to heart and stepped up in Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 Grand Prix. The cast of characters is far superior to its prequel: from 12 runners we have gone to 30 and now many more programs from the famous television channel such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom or Invader Zim are represented.

But this has not been the only improvement that the game has received. An online multiplayer mode has also been added to enjoy racing or fighting against players from all over the world. In addition, the graphic aspect is very nice since the characters are perfectly represented, from their physical appearance to their animations and the way they behave.

Another vital aspect of any karting game is the scenarios. This time we have 28 tracks where the characters come from are taken directly from the animated series, with a large amount of detail and loyal to the series. The scenarios aren't very complicated, but they do have enough variety to have to fully learn to handle each of them, if you want to win all the races.

The Nickelodeonian-themed characterization also extends to objects that we will find along the game. For example, the four elements, or an explosion that will hit those around us, taken directly from Avatar: The Last Airbender. And the famous slime could not be missing either, which we will collect along the tracks and that will help us recharge our special power.

Variety is important in order not to get bored, so the game features several modes: Slime's Grand Prix, which would be the traditional Grand Prix mode in which we face a series of cups to unlock content; Free run, to practice the scenarios where we get stuck or that we like; challenges, where we can find challenges of all kinds, from performing a certain number of pirouettes to beating rivals under certain circumstances; the time trial mode, if we really want to test our speed; and the Arena, to fight against the rest of the players.

But the content doesn't end here: to make this an even more customizable experience, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 Grand Prix has included some very interesting mechanics that add life to the races: the team of bosses, engineers, and mechanics. These are represented by secondary characters from different Nickelodeon series, and their effect will be to give us small improvements that will help us better face the races in which we participate. Thanks to this, we have a great cast of characters and also, a more interesting and complex gameplay.

Unlike the first installment, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 Grand Prix is a very decent karting game that you can have fun with. It has a lot of content (runners, tracks, game modes), so the tgame will get players wound up and it will be a long time before they get bored. Although it has its flaws, such as no dubbing for the characters, it is an interesting and highly entertaining recommendation that will amuse young children and provide a large dose of nostalgia for those who grew up watching Nickelodeon series.
