Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate

Chess is such a perfect game that it has hardly changed in recent centuries. That is why it is always worth assessing when it comes to giving it a twist, however crazy it may be. The result is almost always something of lesser quality than the original form, but that shouldn't deter anyone from trying it, because in the end there's always new and absurd craziness, like Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate.

The PUNKCAKE Délicieux game presents us with a situation in which the Black King has been dispossessed of his army and only has his loyal shotgun left. The white hordes are coming for him and it's up to him to survive as best he can in this tremendous roguelike.

In each turn, we will be able to choose between moving the King or shooting at the enemy pieces, reloading our shotgun with each movement. We have to avoid checkmate (what a surprise) and eliminate the White King to beat each of the levels. At the end of each level, we can choose between two random combinations that include an advantage for us, and another for our opponent. We will have to choose wisely and ascend to the top of the castle... in order to recover our kingdom.

I don't remember who once said that everything gets better when shotguns are added, but that's surely the philosophy of Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate. It is funny that with this absurd twist, something completely different comes out and that the bizarreness does not stop here; the different scenarios offered, also include countless pieces or a giant White King. Why not?
