Summum Aeterna

The King of Darkness' new adventure unfolds as a roguelite that will enrapture fans of the genre, especially through a combination of systems that makes uncertainty and randomness the ideal companions for a journey full of entertainment and fun.

From permanent death to non-lineal progression, from increasing difficulty to equipment, levels and enemies that vary from game to game, this roguelite offers a rather marked set of characteristics. In this sense, Summum Aeterna fulfils each of the characteristics, but goes a little further thanks to its seed structure.

The seed system means that the structure of the game can be modified. In Summum Aeterna, we are given the possibility of modifying the game through a set of objects that transform values such as the life and number of enemies, the damage they inflict or the percentage of money they yield, along with other less common ones such as unique events, the initial zones and the presence or absence of special rooms.

The degree of authority we have over the contextual settings of each run is much more precise than in other games like Dead Cells or Hades, but also more fun. Instead of just increasing the difficulty with every successful attempt, the title turns seeds into rarity objects that can be obtained, fused or scrapped, turning you into an interdimensional gardener with the ability to create an infinite number of different worlds.

The result? Endless possibilities, both in terms of experience and demands. Summum Aeterna can go from being the most difficult video game ever created to an absolute power fantasy in a matter of minutes, making its lifespan multiply indefinitely.

Summum Aeterna has many systems. To give substance to the modifiable seed operation, Aeternum chose to introduce, gradually and appropriately, a subset of specific mechanics that transform the universes to be visited. Consequently, the multiple currency exchanges which, after collecting them in each game, can be used to upgrade our initial conditions for subsequent games, we will have a respective number of NPCs to whom we can demonstrate these upgrades.

All in all, it must be said that it is a very good title due to the number of areas it has, the outstanding bosses, the wonderful art style, the satisfying combat, the natural growth or even the negative elements such as the anecdotal narrative and the basic fights. The sensations and experiences that Summum Aeterna awakens are very positive.
