NetEase Games has revealed The Godbomb, the new Battle Pass arriving with Season 10 of Marvel Rivals. Built around Gorr the God Butcher’s campaign against the divine beings of the Chronoverse, the pass will introduce ten new costumes alongside a wider selection of themed cosmetic rewards.

Season 10 begins on September 11, 2026, with the update scheduled to enter maintenance at 09:00 UTC. NetEase estimates that the maintenance period will last approximately two hours, meaning access to the new season may not be immediate when the update process begins.

The Battle Pass trailer accompanies the launch of Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy, a cosmic chapter in which Gorr attempts to erase every god from existence. His weapon is the Godbomb, an apocalyptic device powered by the Faith-Harvesting Engine and positioned inside the God Quarry, a graveyard for fallen deities located beyond conventional space and time.

The Godbomb Turns Season 10 Into a Divine Reckoning

The central conflict places the entire divine hierarchy of Marvel Rivals under threat. After defeating two gods and obtaining greater control over All-Black the Necrosword, Gorr has brought his crusade to the God Quarry. There, he intends to complete and detonate a weapon capable of exterminating divine life across reality.

That premise gives The Godbomb Battle Pass a clear thematic identity. Rather than presenting ten unrelated costumes, NetEase is using the pass to explore different interpretations of cosmic power, divine authority and rebellion against the gods. Some heroes are transformed into celestial champions, while others appear to embody darker or more unconventional forms of power.

The Battle Pass is therefore closely connected to the season’s narrative rather than functioning as an isolated cosmetic collection. Its costumes and additional rewards reinforce the conflict between Gorr and the gods while allowing the wider Marvel roster to participate in the story through alternative designs.

Gorr himself will become a playable character when the season begins. He joins the roster as a Duelist focused on aggressive close-range combat, mobility and the destructive versatility of All-Black. The living Necrosword can change form and allows him to attack from unexpected directions, execute vulnerable enemies and create Black Berserkers from the flesh absorbed by his weapon.

Ten New Costumes Lead the Battle Pass

The Godbomb contains ten all-new costume sets. NetEase has officially highlighted three of them ahead of the update: White Fox’s Cosmic Kumiho, Captain America’s Astral Aegis and Loki’s The Chronicler.

Cosmic Kumiho transforms White Fox through a celestial interpretation of her mystical heritage. The character already combines supernatural abilities with the mythology of the nine-tailed fox, making her an appropriate choice for a season concerned with gods, faith and cosmic forces.

Captain America’s Astral Aegis costume appears to elevate the First Avenger into a defender operating on a much larger scale. Captain America is not traditionally presented as a god, but his symbolic role as an inspirational leader makes him a natural counterpoint to Gorr’s belief that mortals must abandon divine figures and place their faith in themselves.

Loki’s The Chronicler is particularly significant because the God of Mischief plays an important role in the new seasonal narrative. The design is connected to The Tetrameron, an accompanying story event in which players will help Loki complete tasks and obtain additional rewards. Its title suggests a version of Loki responsible for observing, recording or potentially manipulating the unfolding catastrophe.

The remaining costumes broaden the selection across different roles and corners of the Marvel roster. In addition to the outfits, the Battle Pass includes exclusive divine-themed cosmetics, which are expected to cover the usual range of profile and character customisation rewards available through Marvel Rivals’ seasonal progression.

NetEase has not provided an exhaustive written breakdown of every reward tier in its official patch notes. Players looking for the precise order of costumes, emotes, sprays, nameplates, MVP animations, currency rewards and other items will need to consult the in-game Battle Pass once Season 10 is live.

Permanent Progression Removes the Expiration Pressure

One of the most important details concerns how The Godbomb handles progression. Once players purchase the Battle Pass, its rewards remain permanently available to unlock. Owners are not required to finish the entire reward track before Season 10 ends.

This makes the system considerably less restrictive than the traditional limited-time Battle Pass model used by many live-service games. Players can progress at their own pace without losing access to paid rewards simply because a seasonal deadline has passed.

However, permanent progression should not be confused with permanent availability for purchase. The announcement confirms that purchased Battle Passes can continue to be completed, but it does not state that The Godbomb will remain on sale indefinitely. Players interested in owning the pass should still verify its purchasing window inside the game.

The distinction is valuable for anyone who divides their time between several live-service titles. A pass containing ten costumes would normally require a substantial seasonal commitment, but Marvel Rivals allows players to reduce that pressure by separating ownership from immediate completion.

No official price is included in the Battle Pass announcement or the Season 10 patch notes. Any cost presented before the update should therefore be checked against the amount displayed in the live game client.

More Than a Cosmetic Update

Although The Godbomb trailer focuses on the Battle Pass, Season 10 will introduce a much broader collection of changes. Gorr’s arrival is accompanied by new narrative entries, including the Butcher’s Blasphemy serial, Gorr’s All Gods Will Die lore chapter and a new Loki story.

The Tetrameron will serve as the principal seasonal story event. Players will assist The Chronicler version of Loki by completing objectives in exchange for rewards, creating another direct connection between the narrative and one of the Battle Pass’s featured costumes.

Scarlet Witch is also receiving a meaningful gameplay rework. Her updated kit introduces Scarlet Hex and the Chaos Mark mechanic, allowing Wanda to mark enemies and convert part of the damage dealt to marked targets into Bonus Health. Other parts of her kit have been adjusted to interact with those marks, altering how she controls space and sustains herself during fights.

Season 10’s balance update extends well beyond Scarlet Witch. Numerous Vanguards, Duelists and Strategists are receiving changes, while the entire Strategist category will generate slightly less Ultimate Energy from both healing and damage. That global adjustment could have a noticeable effect on match pacing and Ultimate frequency, particularly in coordinated competitive play.

The launch update will also add new store bundles for Gorr, Cloak & Dagger and Emma Frost. These are separate purchases and should not be confused with the ten costumes included in The Godbomb Battle Pass.

Gorr Receives Several Different Cosmetic Paths

Players interested in Gorr will have multiple ways to obtain cosmetics for the new Duelist. His Divine Destroyer bundle and Blue Requiem item will enter the store with the Season 10 update, while Gods’ Graveyard will serve as the Gold-tier ranked costume reward for Season 10.0.

This means the season’s central character is represented across the store, competitive progression and the wider narrative, even though he is not one of the three Battle Pass costumes explicitly highlighted in the official patch notes.

That distribution is worth noting because Marvel Rivals increasingly uses different reward channels simultaneously. A costume shown during the broader seasonal promotion is not automatically part of the Battle Pass. Players should check whether a design belongs to The Godbomb, the store, ranked rewards, Twitch Drops or a limited event before assuming how it can be obtained.

A new series of Twitch Drops begins shortly after the update and includes the Squirrel Girl Will of Galacta costume with related content. Further drops connected to Marvel Rivals IGNITE Stage 2 will begin rolling out on September 17, eventually offering a Cyclops Will of Galacta costume and esports-themed rewards.

An Older Battle Pass Is Also Returning

Alongside The Godbomb, NetEase is bringing back the Season 4 Battle Pass, Fruit of Immortality, for a limited rerun. It will be available through the Reality Link Point interface from September 11 at 09:00 UTC until September 24 at the same time.

Its return is independent of the new Battle Pass. Players interested in both collections should therefore examine their available currency and progression priorities before purchasing, particularly because Fruit of Immortality has a clearly defined acquisition window.

The rerun demonstrates how Marvel Rivals is handling older seasonal content. Previous passes can return through limited promotions, while players who purchase them retain the ability to complete their rewards later. That approach maintains rotating availability without forcing owners to finish several passes simultaneously.

A Battle Pass Closely Tied to the Season’s Story

The Godbomb stands out because it is integrated into nearly every part of Season 10’s presentation. Its title identifies Gorr’s ultimate weapon, its costumes reinterpret heroes through a cosmic and divine aesthetic, and Loki’s featured appearance connects directly to the season’s principal event.

That cohesion gives the pass a stronger identity than a collection assembled around unrelated designs. Whether the complete reward track offers sufficient value will ultimately depend on its price, tier distribution and the quality of the secondary cosmetics, details that should become fully verifiable once the update is live.

What is already confirmed is substantial: ten new costume sets, permanent progression after purchase and a narrative built around one of the most dangerous weapons in Marvel mythology. When Season 10 begins on September 11, players will be fighting through more than a routine content refresh. The Godbomb is already counting down, and the fate of every deity in the Chronoverse has become the centre of the new season.
