Cyra has never been a character built for subtlety, and her next cosmetic is leaning even harder into the light. NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will release Cyra’s new Extreme Hairstyle Shimmering Plumes on October 8 PT, introducing a reactive hairstyle whose luminous feather-like effects gradually emerge as combat develops. Soft light moves through its individual strands before the more elaborate visual treatment materializes around the character, giving the cosmetic a dynamic presence that changes during a match rather than functioning as a static replacement for her normal hair.

The reveal arrives almost two years after Cyra first joined the roster as The Lightbearer, and Shimmering Plumes feels unusually compatible with the visual language 24 Entertainment established for her from the beginning. Cyra’s abilities already revolve around radiant shields, healing fields and concentrated beams of light, while several of her most expensive cosmetics have emphasized wings, halos and celestial imagery. Her newest Extreme Hairstyle effectively transfers that spectacle to the character model itself, making movement and combat part of the presentation instead of limiting the premium effect to an Outfit or Ultimate animation.

Shimmering Plumes changes as the battle develops

The defining feature is the hairstyle’s special reactive effect. 24 Entertainment describes Shimmering Plumes as a composition of luminous feathers and celestial light, with the effect gradually shimmering into view as battle unfolds. The result is more elaborate than simply applying emissive textures to Cyra’s hair. The cosmetic is designed to look different once combat has progressed, allowing the visual treatment to become increasingly noticeable during the part of the match where Cyra is actively fighting.

That matters because NARAKA’s Extreme cosmetics increasingly differentiate themselves through behavior rather than rarity alone. Cyra’s original Extreme Outfit Wings of Light, introduced with the Aurora Treasure in October 2024, already demonstrated that approach by producing Shining Wings after enemy eliminations and triggering a separate Six Wing Splendor effect while the character stood still outside combat. Shimmering Plumes applies the same philosophy to a much smaller cosmetic category, turning hair into another location for reactive visual effects instead of reserving animation systems for full-body Outfits.

It also suits NARAKA particularly well because characters are rarely static during actual play. Wall running, grappling, airborne attacks, quick dashes and the game’s highly mobile melee combat constantly move hair and clothing across the screen. A hairstyle designed around shifting light and feather-like elements therefore benefits from the same movement systems that make elaborate robes or accessories visually expressive.

Cyra was built around light from the beginning

The cosmetic’s celestial direction is not arbitrary. Cyra entered NARAKA on October 31, 2024 as the chief Divine Healer and Saint of Dawn, a former Lunazran treasure whose reputation collapsed amid accusations of heresy and insanity. Her official introduction describes someone completely committed to championing the Light regardless of what the people around her think, establishing radiance as both a gameplay theme and a central element of her identity.

Her combat kit carries that idea directly onto the battlefield. Light’s Mercy allows Cyra to operate within an Ultimate state centered on beams, shields and luminous projectiles, while Light’s Mercy: Field creates an area capable of supporting allies through healing and damage reduction. 24 Entertainment has adjusted the exact numbers repeatedly since her debut, including modifying her Light Shields, beam behavior, healing and Ultimate durations, but the visual concept has remained remarkably consistent. Cyra is meant to look as though she is manipulating something brilliant, divine and potentially dangerous whenever her strongest abilities become active.

Shimmering Plumes therefore has an advantage many premium cosmetics do not. It does not need to invent a new visual fantasy and force it onto the character. The feathers, glow and celestial elegance already fit the vocabulary surrounding Cyra’s abilities, allowing the hairstyle to look extravagant without feeling disconnected from the hero wearing it.

Extreme Hairstyles have become their own premium cosmetic tier

NARAKA introduced the dedicated Extreme Hairstyle category in September 2024 with Kurumi’s Petal Reverie. Unlike normal Epic or Legendary hairstyles purchased directly with Gold, Extreme Hairstyles use their own redemption economy involving Cloud Mirrors and Floral Dew, and 24 Entertainment has consistently treated them as premium collectibles rather than ordinary wardrobe additions.

The original system required 50 Cloud Mirrors and 60 Floral Dew for Petal Reverie. Subsequent Extreme Hairstyles have followed that same established requirement, including Tessa’s Crystalline Dew, Tarka Ji’s Ember’s Fury, Ziping Yin’s Feather Drift and Feria Shen’s Splendid Explosion. Those releases also commonly included additional character-specific items such as a Debut Pose, Bubble or other bonus cosmetic when the hairstyle was obtained.

However, 24 Entertainment has not yet published the October 8 patch notes confirming Shimmering Plumes’ exact redemption cost or its possible accompanying bonuses as of October 6. The long-running 50 Cloud Mirror and 60 Floral Dew structure makes that the obvious precedent, but it should not be treated as the confirmed price until the new update documentation is live.

That distinction matters for players planning purchases before Thursday. The showcase confirms the cosmetic and its availability date; it does not yet provide the full Store entry.

Cloud Mirrors and Floral Dew make these hairstyles different from normal Shop cosmetics

The Extreme Hairstyle system also has its own economy. When the category launched, Cloud Mirrors were priced at 300 Gold each, while Floral Dew could be obtained through Battle Pass rewards or Herald Dye Cream Random Gifts and, depending on platform and period, purchased or traded through supported systems. 24 Entertainment later adjusted Floral Dew distribution and trading behavior, including prioritizing non-tradable Floral Dew when players redeem an Extreme Hairstyle.

The system effectively separates Extreme Hairstyles from the direct-sale Legendary hair players frequently see in character packs. Cyra already has numerous examples of those more conventional cosmetics, including Honor Tresses from her Lightbearer Pack, Illusory Dream, Rosy Wish, the Triss-inspired Royal Advisor hairstyle from The Witcher 3 collaboration and the Summer Party Dawn style. Shimmering Plumes sits above those in rarity and presentation, with its reactive visual effect being the clearest reason for the distinction.

For collectors, that means Shimmering Plumes is not simply another color or silhouette to rotate through. Extreme Hairstyles are designed as prestige cosmetics and are integrated into NARAKA’s broader Collection systems accordingly.

Cyra already has one of NARAKA’s strongest Extreme cosmetic identities

Shimmering Plumes also has several obvious potential pairings because Cyra is hardly lacking in high-end cosmetics. Her launch season introduced Wings of Light, an Extreme Outfit from the Aurora Treasure with reactive wings and an idle Six Wing Splendor effect. At the end of 2025, she received another Extreme Outfit, Fate Radiance, through the Steed Treasure, giving players a second premium full-body design built around a similarly elevated visual style.

Those Outfits make a reactive hairstyle particularly valuable because NARAKA allows players to combine cosmetics instead of requiring every premium effect to remain attached to a fixed full set. Shimmering Plumes can potentially become the visual centerpiece of several different Cyra configurations rather than being locked to one Outfit.

The Collection system has also become more flexible over time. In July 2026, 24 Entertainment expanded Shared Collection support to Hairstyles and Accessories, with players at the appropriate Collection tiers able to share Extreme Hairstyles as well as lower-rarity items. Photo Booth support has similarly expanded, allowing elaborate cosmetics to be displayed outside normal combat and used in customized presentation scenes.

That gives an item such as Shimmering Plumes value in several parts of the game. Its reactive component is designed for combat, while the underlying hairstyle can still be used for profile presentation, screenshots and character customization outside a match.

The timing puts it directly into NARAKA’s October transition

Shimmering Plumes becomes available on October 8 PT, a date already functioning as a major transition point across NARAKA’s current live-service calendar. Multiple September events conclude around October 8, including Dueling, Dueling Masters, Race to Gold and Treasure Chase, while Anassa Nangong’s Abyssal Fiend Lucky Wheel is also scheduled to close during the same period.

24 Entertainment has also been previewing the incoming Devourer content cycle, including the recent reveal of the Urban Hunt outfits for Anassa Nangong, Feria Shen and Takeda Nobutada through the Devourer Advanced Hidden Treasure. Cyra’s hairstyle is being marketed separately rather than as one of those three featured Treasure Scroll outfits, so it should not automatically be assumed to be a Devourer Battle Pass reward.

Instead, its October 8 arrival gives the update two very different cosmetic directions at once. Urban Hunt pushes several heroes toward futuristic streetwear and neon nightlife, while Shimmering Plumes moves Cyra further toward an ethereal, almost divine presentation.

That contrast is fairly typical of NARAKA’s current cosmetic strategy. One update can contain historical or mythological fashion, contemporary streetwear, licensed crossovers and elaborate fantasy cosmetics simultaneously without requiring the roster to share one unified visual canon.

The hairstyle also highlights how far NARAKA has pushed cosmetic animation

When NARAKA launched, hairstyles were primarily conventional character customization. Extreme Hairstyles now allow 24 Entertainment to treat hair almost like a miniature special-effect system. Petal Reverie established the dedicated rarity, subsequent releases refined the format and Shimmering Plumes appears to be pushing more strongly into effects that evolve while the player is actually fighting.

That progression parallels what has happened with premium Outfits and weapon skins. Cyra’s Wings of Light reacts to eliminations. Extreme weapons can alter specific attack effects. Accessories can modify the appearance of Skills or Ultimates, as 24 Entertainment has done with other heroes. The distinction between “skin” and “effect package” has consequently become increasingly blurred at the top of NARAKA’s cosmetic hierarchy.

Shimmering Plumes is a particularly visible example because the effect sits directly around the character’s head and upper silhouette. In third-person combat, that area remains readable even when elaborate clothing or weapon details become harder to distinguish amid particles and fast movement.

It is premium presentation designed to survive the chaos of the actual game.

A cosmetic built for the Saint of Dawn

Cyra has changed mechanically many times since her 2024 debut. Her Light Shields have been increased, beams retuned, Ultimate durations adjusted and healing values reconsidered as 24 Entertainment has tried to balance a character capable of dealing damage while simultaneously providing substantial team support.

Her aesthetic identity has been much more stable.

She remains the Saint of Dawn, surrounded by radiant energy and convinced enough in her relationship with the Light to accept being called a heretic. Wings of Light made that imagery enormous. Fate Radiance reinforced it. Shimmering Plumes now concentrates the same fantasy into a cosmetic whose glow becomes more pronounced while the battle itself develops.

There are still practical questions waiting for the October 8 patch notes, particularly the exact redemption requirements and whether the hairstyle includes the additional Debut Pose or Bubble commonly bundled with previous Extreme Hairstyles.

The important part is already confirmed.

Cyra is getting another way to turn illumination into spectacle, and this time she does not need to activate an Ultimate to make the battlefield glow.
