Path of Exile 2 is a free next-gen action RPG created by Grinding Gear Games, with a co-op mode for up to six players. Years after the events of Path of Exile, you return to the dark world of Wraeclast to put an end to the corruption that is spreading.
Path of Exile 2 has a completely new campaign consisting of six acts, 100 different environments, 600 monsters and 100 bosses.
Main features
Twelve character classes
Path of Exile 2 has twelve character classes, two for each combination of strength, dexterity and intelligence. Although all these classes focus on different styles of play, they are only a starting point. You can combine the skills of many classes to create your ideal character build.
Each of the twelve character classes has three ancestry specialisations, so there are a total of 36 ancestry classes to choose from.
New skill gem system
Path of Exile 2 has 240 skill gems that grant devastating active abilities and 200 assist gems that modify the behaviour of skill gems. Combine them as you like to create your perfect build.
This is the next generation of Path of Exile's famous skill system. Assistance gems now link directly to skill gems, eliminating many of the frustrations of the old system while maintaining the depth of the old system. You can now have six links on all skills your character uses.
Double specialisation in the passive skill tree
Path of Exile's iconic passive skill tree is back with 1500 skills that will allow you to fully customise your gaming experience. You can now have a double specialisation, as you can allocate some passive skill points into two different skill sets that will be activated when you use the appropriate weapon or skill type. For example, you may have some points allocated to daggers and traps, or ice and lightning, and the appropriate skill points will be applied when you alternate attacks. This will allow you to specialise in several areas at no opportunity cost.
Discover completely new objects
Path of Exile 2 has 700 base types of equipment, each of which has its own unique item that you can find. You will be able to upgrade your arsenal with new weapons such as spears, crossbows and flails, and some additional items such as spotlights, traps and the redesigned sceptres.
Face unique bosses
In Path of Exile 2, each area of the campaign will contain a boss encounter. There are over a hundred bosses to fight throughout the acts, and all of them have unique mechanics that you will need to learn.
Explore a new endgame
Upon completion of the six-act Path of Exile 2 campaign, you will be able to access the endgame. Each of the 100+ endgame maps has its own boss fight and modifiers that allow you to generate updated versions of many of Path of Exile's past leagues.
Fair play. You will never pay to win
Path of Exile 2 is a standalone game from the original Path of Exile, and there will be new expansions for both games. Both are completely free to play and will never be "pay to win". Purchases will be shared between the two games.
