Update 1.14: Harbingers of Ruin continues to expand its reach, now adding one of its most critical components: the official arrival of Legion, a brand-new hero landing in Predecessor on May 19. Following several teasers, Omeda Studios has finally released the Hero Overview trailer, offering a clearer look at the role this character will play in the MOBA.
And judging by the tone of the preview, Legion seems built to deliver exactly what the update's name promises: ruin, relentless pressure, and unforgiving combat.
While the studio is still keeping some details under wraps, the trailer showcases a hero with an extremely aggressive presence. His visual identity is defined by heavy armor, dark energy, and a playstyle clearly tailored for direct confrontation. It all fits perfectly into the much more martial and somber atmosphere that Harbingers of Ruin is building around the current season.
Legion’s arrival is particularly significant as Predecessor continues to expand its roster with increasingly specialized characters, aiming to boost strategic variety within the competitive metagame.
In MOBAs, a new hero rarely represents just a simple addition to the pool. It also triggers potential shifts in team compositions, pick-and-ban priorities, and lane matchups. Because of this, a large portion of the community is already analyzing what kind of impact Legion might have on the game's current balance.
Visually, the character maintains an aesthetic that aligns flawlessly with one of Predecessor’s core hallmarks: heroes with more realistic, grounded, and striking designs than those typically seen in other titles of the genre. The emphasis on heavy materials, dark lighting, and a commanding physical presence reinforces a sense of constant brutality.
Update 1.14 is bringing more than just a new character. Between the debut of Legion, the new Iron Guard Skins, and the rest of the content tied to Harbingers of Ruin, Omeda Studios looks to make this patch one of the most visually cohesive expansions in recent months.
This is highly important for Predecessor as it continues to solidify its own identity within the fiercely competitive MOBA ecosystem, where standing out both visually and mechanically is becoming harder than ever.
The community has already begun debating potential roles for Legion—ranging from an aggressive initiator or frontline brawler to a menace designed specifically to punish prolonged team fights. As with every new hero launch, the first few weeks will likely be defined by heavy experimentation and balance adjustments.
With Legion arriving on May 19, Predecessor continues to grow its roster while doubling down on the dark tone of Harbingers of Ruin. If the overview trailer is any indication of his actual playstyle, it seems clear that this hero isn't coming to protect the balance... but to break it.
