Strategy evolves in Sid Meier'sCivilization VII with “Test of Time”, a free update that overhauls key game systems and responds directly to community feedback.
The most significant change is the ability to maintain the same civilization throughout all Ages, allowing for the development of a much more coherent and personalized identity. Instead of feeling shifts between historical stages, empire evolution now feels more organic. Your civilization stops being temporary and begins to feel truly yours.
Another major redesign affects the Victory system. Now, victory conditions offer rewards and progression throughout all Ages, ensuring that every strategic decision has a continuous impact rather than just affecting the end of the match.
The update also introduces the new Triumphs system, featuring over 90 new objectives that provide bonuses and new incentives to experiment with different strategies. This adds more depth and intermediate goals within every campaign.
Additionally, the patch includes:
- A Free New Leader
- A New Map Type
- Upgraded Map Generation
- General adjustments based on player feedback
The result is an update that doesn't just add content, but modifies the fundamental pillars of the experience.
With “Test of Time” now available, the game seeks to solidify a formula that is more flexible, strategic, and focused on long-term identity building.
Now, the question is clear: when you can build a truly permanent empire, will you choose to adapt to every Age... or will you keep your vision intact until the very end?
