Sung Jinwoo masters the storm with Soma & Asura, the new wind blades revolutionizing Solo Leveling: ARISE

Netmarble continues to expand Sung Jinwoo’s arsenal with one of its most spectacular additions in recent months. Following the recent showcase of Moonlit Gale, the company has unveiled Soma & Asura, a brand-new SSR weapon exclusive to the protagonist of Solo Leveling: ARISE. This new addition introduces a completely different combat style utilizing chained dual swords with massive Wind damage potential

The reveal is part of the June 4update, which also introduced the SSR hunter Liu Zhigang, new story content, and several quality-of-life improvements for the game's high-level endgame activities

Two swords, two opposing forces, one single storm

According to the weapon's official lore, Soma & Asura represent the union of two opposing energies.

Soma channels an icy power associated with the moon, while Asura wields flames capable of eclipsing the sun. When both weapons are unleashed together, they generate storms and energy blasts that inflict massive destructive power upon the battlefield.

This duality is also beautifully reflected in their aesthetics, making them some of the most visually striking weapons Sung Jinwoo has received since the game's launch.

The new staples for wind builds

The arrival of Soma & Asura confirms a clear trend within the current meta.

The June update has significantly reinforced setups centered around the Windelement, not only through these new blades but also thanks to the inclusion of Moonlit Gale, another SSR weapon released concurrently.

While Moonlit Gale leans more toward elemental accumulation and Overload mechanics, Soma & Asura appear to focus on raw, direct damage and constant aggression during combat.

This distinction is already driving many players to experiment with combining both weapons to maximize the output of their Wind builds.

The community already considers them among Jinwoo’s best weapons

While it is still early to determine their definitive position on the tier lists, initial testing by veteran players shows highly promising results.

Community discussions during the first few days post-launch indicate that Soma & Asura are frequently popping up in some of the most popular Wind configurations used by high-level players, especially when paired with other weapons geared toward boosting this element.

Several preliminary analyses also point out that the weapon excels particularly in content where sustained damage is more critical than short burst windows.

An update focused on the endgame

The arrival of Soma & Asura is not an isolated addition.

The June update also incorporates Chapters 32 through34 on advanced difficulties, new stages for the Workshop of Brilliant Light, the debut of the Buster class via Liu Zhigang, and various optimizations tailored to late-game content.

Within this context, the new Wind weapons seem to have been designed precisely to offer more versatile options to players who have already reached the title's most demanding activities.

Sung Jinwoo’s arsenal keeps growing

Since the global launch of Solo Leveling: ARISE, Netmarble has made Sung Jinwoo's exclusive weapons one of the core pillars of character progression.

Each new addition does more than just boost stats—it profoundly alters his combat style, allowing players to theorycraft specialized setups for different types of content.

With Soma & Asura, the studio is doubling down on that philosophy.

And judging by the community's stellar first impressions, it is clear that these twin chained blades are not here to sit on the sidelines.

They have arrived to unleash a storm upon the battlefield.
