Abstract

Abstract games often refer to games of perfect information with alternating turns and no randomness, usually for two players, like Chess or Go. The term Abstract games can also be often used to refer to a game without a theme, regardless of the game mechanics, such as Backgammon or Tantrix. Furthermore, Abstract games can also be "mostly" perfect information and "mostly" lacking in theme, which leads in the community to even more confusion and disagreement about whether a given game is an Abstract game or not. In any case, Abstract games are quite different from the rest of the games, so you're sure to have a great time with them.
