Female Protagonist

In its inception, video games didn't feature a Female Protagonist — this was due to two reasons: publishers marketed the games for boys only, and they feared that a game featuring a Female Protagonist wouldn't appeal to that demography. But now we know that all that is hogwash, thanks to characters like Alloy from Horizon Zero Dawn or Ellie from The Last of Us, games that teach us that a title with a Female Protagonist injects a breath of fresh air into the gaming landscape.
