Hex Grid

Hex Grid games refer, simply put, to titles with a Hexagonal map. Also called hex map or hex board, Hex Grid games feature a game board design that's mainly used in war games. Despite what you might think, maps in Hex Grid games are quite complex — they're even subdivided into hexagonal tiling, which are small regular hexagons of identical size. A prime example of a Hex Grid game is the Civilization series, strategic games where players control units throughout history trying to recreate historical events, or even prevent them.
