RPG

A role-playing game (RPG standing for "Role-Playing Game") is a form of entertaining software in which, as its name implies, one or more players incarnate a certain role or personality. When a person plays the role of X, it means that they're playing a role that's alien to them in everyday life. In a role-playing game, players assume the "role" of characters throughout a story or plot in which they speak a series of lines and describe their actions. In "classic" role-playing games, there is no script to follow since the development of the story is entirely dependant on the decisions the players take throughout. For this reason, imagination, acting, originality and wit are essential to engage in a memorable game. In "online" role-playing games, there's a script to follow, guiding the players through a pre-established plot.
