THE FINALSUpdate 10.6 is now live, and it’s packed with content that completely shifts the usual rhythm of Embark Studios’ competitive shooter. Between new Limited-Time Modes, free rewards, themed cosmetics, and balance tweaks, the undisputed star of this Mid-Season is Dragon’s Claim—a limited event that doubles down on tactical and explosive gameplay.

Far from focusing solely on shooting and environmental destruction, this new mode introduces a dynamic based on territorial control and constant survival under pressure. In 5v5matches, teams must capture a banner and hold it long enough to plant it in the Arena. From that moment on, a frantic struggle begins to dominate the marked zone as the cash progressively stacks up.

The concept partially echoes classic zone-control modes, but with the signature chaotic twist of THE FINALS. The team that plants the banner receives an immediate bonus, while all players who survive within the area earn more cash over time. The catch? Staying still has never been safe in this game, and now it is even less so.

The major event twist comes from the sky. The banner attracts a dragon that constantly bombards the area with fire, forcing players to reposition while simultaneously trying to defend the point or snatch it from their rivals. This promises much more aggressive encounters, featuring massive explosions, environmental destruction, and chaotic moments where team coordination will be paramount.

Embark Studios has also taken advantage of this update to relaunch the Scales of Fortune event—a free reward wheel that allows players to unlock over 20 cosmetic items simply by completing daily contracts. Players can earn up to three tickets per day to spin the wheel, with the chance to snag legendary prizes.

The system also incorporates an improved mechanic to prevent duplicate rewards. When a player receives a duplicate item, it transforms into a “Golden Ticket,” which then guarantees a special spin for a new, unlocked item. It’s an interesting solution to one of the most common issues in these types of Limited-Time Events.

On the premium side, the store is also being refreshed with new cosmetic content inspired by medieval fantasy and futuristic technology. The Crown That Remains bundle includes a Legendary outfit, skins, emotes, and premium currency, while the Helion Exarch set leans into a futuristic knight aesthetic that fits perfectly with the game’s flamboyant tone.

The update also brings new Twitch Drops, allowing players to earn free rewards simply by watching THE FINALS streams with active Drops until May 21. Standout prizes include charms, stickers, and an exclusive weapon skin.
