Embark Studios has expanded the interplanetary wardrobe of THE FINALS with the Transit Grade Set, a new collection of COMETA-branded equipment designed around the technological and industrial aesthetic of Season 11: Galaxy Masters. The cosmetic release arrived on September 3 as the centrepiece of Store Update 11.8.0.

Transit Grade is presented as an arsenal capable of surviving the extreme conditions of space travel, continuing the season’s mixture of retro-futuristic machinery, corporate sponsorship and exaggerated game-show advertising. COMETA supplies the supposedly professional solution, although Embark also jokes that wrapping everything in aluminium foil might provide sufficient protection against solar radiation.

The joke reflects the two sides of THE FINALS’ cosmetic identity. Some Contestants enter the Arena wearing pristine equipment created by fictional corporations, while others look as if they assembled their protective gear from whatever they found backstage. Store Update 11.8.0 offers options for both approaches while maintaining the wider space-exploration theme established at the beginning of Galaxy Masters.

COMETA Expands Its Interplanetary Arsenal

COMETA is one of the principal fictional sponsors behind Season 11, providing the narrative justification for the Arena’s expansion into space. Its technology is associated with engineered environments, space transportation and the kind of equipment Contestants might use while operating beyond a conventional planetary atmosphere.

Transit Grade builds on that image with a functional, aerospace-inspired visual identity. Rather than presenting its equipment as ornamental luxury, the set is marketed as professional gear manufactured to endure hostile off-world conditions. That framing gives it the appearance of equipment that could have been issued to a crew responsible for maintaining a space station or transporting cargo between planets.

Of course, equipment in THE FINALS is still created for a televised combat spectacle. Any practical appearance is filtered through the game’s exaggerated virtual presentation, where corporate branding and personal style are almost as important as surviving the next firefight.

This makes Transit Grade a natural match for Contestants already using COMETA cosmetics from the current Battle Pass and seasonal rewards. It can also offer a more grounded alternative to the alien costumes, colourful space suits and deliberately absurd designs found elsewhere in Galaxy Masters.

A Cosmetic Release Connected to Season 11’s Worldbuilding

Store updates in THE FINALS frequently do more than place unrelated skins in the shop. Embark uses sponsors and themed collections to reinforce the fictional world surrounding its matches, presenting new cosmetics as products being advertised directly to Contestants and viewers of the game show.

Transit Grade follows that structure. COMETA is not simply a logo placed on a weapon or piece of equipment; it is the corporation responsible for many of the technologies and locations associated with Season 11.

The clearest example is Galaxy Estates, a retro-futuristic space colony constructed inside an enormous artificial habitat. Its suburban neighbourhoods, botanical garden, sports facilities and spaceport present an optimistic vision of civilian life among the stars. Once a match begins, however, those carefully designed locations become fully destructible combat spaces.

Galaxy Estates also uses anti-gravity columns, vertical routes and a high-speed transportation tunnel to create new movement opportunities. Those features make the location feel like a functioning space settlement rather than an ordinary city map decorated with science-fiction objects.

Transit Grade fits naturally within that setting. Its COMETA branding connects it to the same fictional infrastructure, helping players construct a Contestant who looks like a professional operator working inside the colony—or someone who has stolen corporate equipment and brought it into the Arena.

Professional Engineering Meets Aluminium-Foil Survival

The promotional concept contrasts COMETA’s carefully engineered equipment with an improvised defence against solar radiation. The suggestion that ordinary foil could replace advanced protection is intentionally ridiculous, but it is also consistent with the visual comedy used throughout THE FINALS.

The game regularly combines polished sponsored merchandise with items that appear homemade, repurposed or fundamentally unsuitable for combat. A Contestant can dress like a corporate astronaut in one match and return wearing an outfit assembled from household materials in the next.

That contrast is particularly effective during Galaxy Masters. Space exploration is traditionally associated with expensive machinery, extensive testing and strict safety procedures. Introducing improvised foil equipment reduces that grand technological ambition to the kind of questionable solution someone might attempt after misunderstanding a survival manual.

It also prevents the season’s science-fiction theme from becoming visually repetitive. Not every space cosmetic needs to be a pristine astronaut suit or a heavily armoured environmental system. Humorous alternatives allow Embark to explore the same concept from a completely different direction.

Store Update 11.8.0 Does Not Include Balance Changes

Despite its numerical designation, Store Update 11.8.0 is not presented as a conventional gameplay patch. Embark’s official announcement focuses on the Transit Grade release, the accompanying store rotation and a selection of discounted bundles.

No weapon adjustments, gadget changes, performance improvements or bug fixes are listed in the official notes. Players should therefore not expect the update itself to alter the current combat meta.

That distinction is important because THE FINALS also uses numbered releases for larger updates containing balance changes and technical fixes. Version 11.7.0, released one week earlier, adjusted the Shockwave specialization and addressed several crashes, audio problems and performance issues. Update 11.8.0 instead concentrates on refreshing the store.

As a cosmetic collection, Transit Grade is intended to change a Contestant’s presentation rather than the mechanical performance of their equipment. Its appeal will consequently depend on how strongly players connect with COMETA’s industrial space aesthetic and whether the set complements their existing customisation choices.

Embark’s written announcement does not provide a complete item-by-item breakdown or official price for Transit Grade. Those details are displayed through the in-game store, where players can inspect the available components before purchasing them.

Featured Bundles Return at Reduced Prices

The new store rotation is not limited to Transit Grade. Embark has also launched another sale covering several previously released collections, specifically naming the City Lancer Set as one of the featured bundles.

This gives players who missed earlier rotations another opportunity to obtain selected cosmetics at a reduced cost. The exact selection and regional presentation can be checked directly through the game’s store.

Returning bundles provide a counterbalance to the weekly flow of new cosmetics. THE FINALS has accumulated an extensive catalogue since launch, but older items can become difficult to track when attention continually moves towards the latest release. Temporary sales bring some of those designs back into focus without requiring them to match the current seasonal theme.

For players primarily interested in the Galaxy Masters aesthetic, however, Transit Grade remains the most directly relevant addition. It joins the wider collection of space-oriented cosmetics already available through Season 11’s Battle Pass, events and previous shop rotations.

The Arena May Be Heating Up Next

Embark concludes Store Update 11.8.0 with a brief warning that the Arena’s temperatures are expected to rise during the following week. The developer has not explained exactly what that forecast means, so it should currently be treated as a teaser rather than confirmation of a specific map, event or gameplay mechanic.

The reference could indicate the next stage of Season 11’s content schedule, but any more precise interpretation would be speculation until Embark provides further information. The wording nevertheless signals that the season’s weekly updates will continue beyond the latest cosmetic rotation.

Transit Grade arrives while the wider space-themed activities of Galaxy Masters remain active. The Orbital Hitters event and its associated contracts are scheduled to remain available until September 10, allowing players to continue earning its free rewards while exploring the newest store options.

With its COMETA engineering, industrial presentation and tongue-in-cheek alternative involving aluminium foil, the Transit Grade release captures the corporate absurdity that defines THE FINALS. Store Update 11.8.0 may not change how matches are played, but it gives Contestants another way to align their appearance with Season 11’s voyage beyond the atmosphere.
