After taking players to regions as diverse as Finland, Australia, Nepal, and South Africa, theHunter: Call of the Wild prepares a new adventure that promises to become one of the most varied reserves in the entire series. Expansive Worlds has officially unveiled Peru Hunting Reserve, a new hunting area set in the spectacular territory of Intisuyu, which will arrive on June 16 on all platforms.
The studio describes this new location as a true natural paradise where mountains, cloud forests, and tropical jungles converge, offering some of the most diverse ecosystems ever seen in the hunting simulator.
Three completely different biomes in a single map
One of the great attractions of Intisuyu is its enormous geographical variety.
The reserve will be divided into three main biomes, each with very different characteristics that will force players to constantly adapt their hunting strategies.
The high-altitude areas of the Andean Puna will offer wide open spaces ideal for long-range shots, while the Yungas cloud forests will serve as a transition between the mountains and the jungle. Below that awaits the tropical jungle, a much more enclosed environment where vegetation limits visibility and requires more tactical and careful approaches.
This verticality is precisely one of the elements that Expansive Worlds highlights the most. Moving from the Andean peaks to the depths of the jungle will completely change the gameplay experience and the way each expedition is approached.
14 animal species and some of the most dangerous predators in the game
Peruvian biodiversity will be another of the DLC’s fundamental pillars.
The reserve will include 14 animal species, 10 of which will be completely new to theHunter: Call of the Wild. Among them we will find some of the most representative animals of South America, including capybaras, vicuñas, tarucas, llamas, as well as top predators such as the jaguar and the black caiman.
The jaguar in particular is shaping up to be one of the expansion’s biggest stars. Expansive Worlds describes the Intisuyu jungle as "the kingdom of the jaguar", an environment where these felines sit at the top of the food chain and will challenge even the most experienced hunters.
A new crossbow for stealth lovers
Along with the new map, a new weapon will also arrive.
Players will be able to use the Daher Reverse Draw CB-150, a compact crossbow designed for those who prefer silent approaches and precise short-to-medium-range shots. The weapon will feature different bolt configurations and customization options to suit various hunting styles.
Its addition fits especially well with the nature of the Peruvian jungle, where stealth and the ability to move undetected will play a much more important role than in other more open reserves.
60 missions and new ways to explore the reserve
Peru Hunting Reserve will not be limited solely to adding new species.
The DLC will include 60 new missions, as well as a new bulletin board system that will allow players to decide how they want to spend their time within the reserve.
Available activities will include tasks related to wildlife conservation, exploration, research, and collaboration with local residents, expanding the narrative component that Expansive Worlds has been developing in recent maps.
One of the most promising reserves in recent years
Since its release in 2017, theHunter: Call of the Wild has built a reputation based on offering some of the most detailed natural environments in the genre.
However, few locations seem as varied as Intisuyu. The combination of Andean mountains, cloud forests, and Amazonian jungles offers a level of visual and gameplay diversity that is hard to find even within the game’s own catalog.
And with highly anticipated animals such as the jaguar and the black caiman making their debut, everything points to Peru quickly becoming one of the community’s favorite destinations.
Because in Intisuyu it is not just about finding the perfect prey.
It is also about surviving in one of the wildest and most spectacular ecosystems ever added to theHunter: Call of the Wild.
