Ubisoft has launched Season 2 Phase 2 of The Division Resurgence, refreshing the open-world shooter RPG with a new Classified Ops Pass, another Exotic weapon and a schedule of limited-time challenges running across September and October.
The new phase went live on September 16 and continues the game’s second season, The Call. Its central reward is the Diamondback Exotic rifle, which players can obtain through the free portion of the Classified Ops Pass. Premium rewards include the Football League Apparel Set and the Milky Way weapon cosmetic.
Alongside the pass, Ubisoft has announced several limited-time events focused on weapon training, daily participation and speedrun missions. Their rewards include SHD Keys, crafting materials, Encrypted Data and a Tactical Augmentation module for the Diamondback.
A new Classified Ops Pass with 50 reward tiers
Season 2 Phase 2 introduces another Classified Ops Pass containing 50 progression tiers divided between free and paid tracks. Players advance by completing missions and events to earn Battle Pass XP, making ordinary activities part of the seasonal progression loop.
The free track’s main attraction is the Diamondback, a returning Exotic rifle familiar to players of the wider Division franchise. It gives agents a meaningful gameplay reward to pursue without requiring the premium pass, although reaching it will still depend on progressing through the necessary tiers before the phase concludes.
Ubisoft has also included the Diamondback on the premium track. The official announcement does not indicate the exact tier at which either version becomes available, so players will need to check the in-game pass interface for the complete reward order and progression requirements.
The premium path expands the pass with two major cosmetic rewards. The Football League Apparel Set gives agents a sports-inspired outfit, while the Milky Way weapon cosmetic applies a bright celestial finish to their arsenal. Neither changes combat performance, but both provide visible rewards for players interested in customising their agent.
Separating the Exotic rifle from the paid cosmetics is an important distinction. The Diamondback affects loadout construction and combat, while the apparel and weapon finish are primarily visual. Players focused exclusively on acquiring functional equipment can therefore continue through the free track without treating the premium pass as mandatory.
The Diamondback becomes Phase 2’s headline weapon
Exotic weapons are among the most recognisable progression targets across The Division. They are not simply higher-rarity versions of standard equipment; their unique designs and talents are normally intended to support particular approaches to combat.
The Diamondback is the signature Exotic of Season 2 Phase 2. Ubisoft’s announcement does not provide a complete statistical breakdown or explain whether its implementation differs from previous versions seen elsewhere in the franchise. Players should consequently avoid assuming that established builds from The Division 2 can be transferred directly into Resurgence.
Its true value will depend on the talents, attributes and upgrade options attached to the mobile game’s version. The Division Resurgence has its own progression systems, specialisations and balance environment, even though it shares weapons, factions and concepts with the mainline titles.
What Ubisoft has confirmed is that players will be able to earn a Diamondback Tactical Augmentation module through the new limited-time activities. That makes the seasonal events relevant beyond collecting the base rifle, as committed players can also pursue a module designed specifically to expand or strengthen its potential.
The combination creates a two-stage objective: progress through the Classified Ops Pass to secure the weapon, then complete the appropriate events to collect its associated augmentation. Agents planning to build around the Diamondback should therefore pay attention to the complete event calendar rather than concentrating solely on the pass.
Five limited-time events spread across the phase
Season 2 Phase 2 includes five announced limited-time events, each available during a specific window. Missing one of these periods could mean losing access to its rewards until Ubisoft decides to offer them again.
Trigger Happy runs from September 16 through October 13. It is presented as a weapons-training event that tests players’ accuracy, making it the longest conventional challenge included in the current schedule.
Challenging follows from September 18 to September 21. This event sends agents to the Derelict Store and requires them to complete the associated mission within its time limit. Its four-day window is considerably shorter than Trigger Happy, so players interested in completing every event will need to prioritise it during the opening weekend of the phase.
Exotic SHD Keys is available from September 16 through October 26. Rather than relying on a single difficult mission, this event rewards consistent attendance. Ubisoft says players can claim rewards for logging in each day, creating a longer participation track that runs beyond most of the active combat challenges.
Wall Street Woes takes place from October 2 to October 5. Agents must finish the relevant mission within the allotted time to collect its rewards, once again putting the emphasis on speed and efficient route execution.
The final announced event is Liberty & Justice For All, scheduled for October 16 through October 19. Ubisoft describes it as another speedrun challenge in which agents compete against the clock to earn seasonal rewards.
Across these events, players can obtain the Diamondback Tactical Augmentation module, standard and Exclusive SHD Keys, Electronic Components and Encrypted Data. Ubisoft has not published a complete reward assignment for every individual activity in its overview, meaning players should consult the event menus when each challenge becomes active.
Speed and preparation shape the new event rotation
The Phase 2 calendar places a noticeable emphasis on accuracy, completion times and regular participation. Trigger Happy evaluates weapon handling, while Challenging, Wall Street Woes and Liberty & Justice For All reward agents capable of clearing missions efficiently.
This structure makes preparation as important as mechanical skill. A strong build may produce enough damage to eliminate enemies quickly, but route knowledge, target prioritisation and coordinated ability usage can be equally important during timed missions. In cooperative runs, unclear roles or poorly synchronised engagements can waste more time than a minor difference in equipment power.
Players should also consider preparing multiple specialisations rather than depending on a single setup. The Division Resurgence allows agents to change their role and experiment with different gadgets, talents and signature weapons. A durable configuration may be useful when first learning a mission, while a more aggressive build could become preferable once the team understands every encounter.
The Diamondback could eventually contribute to those speedrun strategies, but its effectiveness should be judged through the actual Resurgence talent set. The trailer establishes it as the phase’s prestige weapon; it does not establish it as the strongest option for every activity.
More seasonal rotation than major content expansion
Season 2 Phase 2 is best understood as a progression and event refresh rather than a full expansion. Ubisoft’s announcement highlights the Classified Ops Pass, Exotic rifle, cosmetics and timed activities, but does not advertise a new region, campaign chapter or major permanent mode.
That distinction matters for returning players. Agents primarily interested in earning new equipment and completing short-term objectives have several reasons to come back. Players waiting for a large narrative expansion or substantial changes to the open world should temper their expectations, as those additions are not part of the confirmed Phase 2 offering.
The update nevertheless gives active players a structured set of objectives across several weeks. The different event windows prevent every reward from being concentrated into the opening days, while the long-running Trigger Happy and Exotic SHD Keys activities provide goals for more regular play.
Its success will ultimately depend on the quality of the Diamondback’s implementation and whether the timed missions remain engaging after repeated attempts. A 50-tier pass provides a visible progression track, but the surrounding activities need to offer enough variety to keep that progression from feeling repetitive.
Available on mobile and PC
The Division Resurgence is available as a free-to-play game on iOS and Android, as well as PC through Steam and the Ubisoft Store. The game presents a shared open-world version of New York that can be explored solo or cooperatively, with more than 100 activities, a canon storyline and several competitive options.
Players can enter Conflict for conventional PvP or venture into the Dark Zone for its PvPvE combination of hostile factions, valuable loot and competing agents. Equipment can be collected, crafted, modified and upgraded, while specialisations allow players to adjust their role and abilities.
Season 2 Phase 2 is live now. Agents pursuing every reward should begin with the Classified Ops Pass and Trigger Happy, while keeping the shorter Challenging event in mind for September 18–21. The later Wall Street Woes and Liberty & Justice For All speedruns will then carry the seasonal schedule deeper into October.
