History comes alive over Leningrad in January’s Pages of History

January opens the door to some of the most pivotal moments of World War II. War Thunder launches a new Pages of History event, placing you at the center of historic battlefields ranging from Leningrad and Khafji to the Philippines and East Prussia, each represented through vehicles tied to real-world conflicts.

From January 1 to January 31, the event unfolds through a structured progression featuring eight consecutive tasks. Completing each challenge grants a trophy with rewards, while finishing the full set unlocks a unique player icon, reserved for those who see the journey through to the end.

This month’s narrative spotlight shines on the skies of Leningrad, highlighting the story of Pyotr Pilyutov, a Soviet ace who fought in 74 aerial engagements and claimed 15 confirmed victories. Serving on the Leningrad Front, he played a key role in defending the besieged city. Shortly after the blockade was broken, Pilyutov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on February 10, 1943, and his name later became part of history through a museum-diorama dedicated to the siege’s breakthrough.
