29/05/2025 - 11:25
Pages of History for June spotlights a true American hero: Theodore Roosevelt Jr., son of former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. A dedicated public servant and soldier, he served in both World Wars, ultimately rising to the rank of Brigadier General. On D-Day, he became one of the first to land on Utah Beach, leading his troops at the age of 56, despite heart issues and arthritis that forced him to walk with a cane.
His determination and leadership under fire earned him the Medal of Honor, and his actions remain a powerful symbol of courage and resilience.
