The regular-season calculations are over. Following one final top-tier ground battle, eight squads have secured their places in the War Thunder Championship Series Grand Finals, where the 2026 title will be decided across three consecutive competitive weekends.

Team Voyager enters that decisive stage with fresh momentum after winning WTCS Pro League Major III. The team finished the last Major of the regular season with 126 points, defeating a field that included several of the organizations it will meet again when the Grand Finals begin in October.

Voyager Claims the Final WTCS Major of the Regular Season

Major III placed the competition’s leading teams in a demanding 4v4 top-tier ground format. With qualification for the season finale still influencing the wider picture, every result carried significance beyond the individual tournament.

Voyager emerged from that pressure with first place and 126 points. The victory closed the regular season on a high note for the squad and established it as one of the teams to watch when the championship resumes.

AVReS remained within striking distance but ultimately took second place with 108 points, finishing 18 points behind the winners. DODEC completed the podium with 88 points, securing another strong result before the focus shifts from accumulating regular-season points to winning the championship itself.

The final standings give Voyager an important confidence boost, although success in a single ground-focused Major does not automatically determine the outcome of the Grand Finals. The season-ending competition will cover Air, Ground and Mixed formats, introducing a broader test of roster depth, preparation and adaptability.

Oskar Named Major III MVP

Voyager’s tournament victory was accompanied by an individual award for Oskar, who was named the MVP of WTCS Pro League Major III. His performances helped the team convert its run into first place and separated him from the other leading candidates in the player vote.

NeZoXi of AVReS finished second in the MVP ranking after playing a major role in his team’s runner-up campaign. DODEC representative _nyffer claimed third place, receiving recognition for his consistency throughout the Major.

The three selections reflect the same teams that occupied the event podium, but the award for Oskar gives Voyager another reason to approach the Grand Finals with confidence. Maintaining that level across three different competitive formats, however, will present a considerably larger challenge than Major III alone.

Eight Teams Qualify for the WTCS Pro League Grand Finals

With the third Major completed, the 2026 WTCS regular season has officially reached its conclusion. Eight teams have earned positions in the Pro League Grand Finals:

  • DODEC
  • VOYAGER
  • AVReS
  • JinX
  • FiveSticks
  • Invictus
  • MRCLS
  • LEET

Voyager, AVReS and DODEC arrive as the most recent Major podium finishers, but the Grand Finals provide a reset of sorts. JinX, FiveSticks, Invictus, MRCLS and LEET will have their own opportunities to disrupt the hierarchy once the championship begins.

The lineup also creates several immediate storylines. Voyager must prove that its Major III form can survive the transition into Air and Mixed competition. AVReS will attempt to reverse the final 18-point deficit from the last Major, while DODEC has another opportunity to transform consistent podium-level results into a championship.

For the remaining five teams, the extended schedule offers time to recover from a poor weekend or exploit a particularly strong competitive discipline. It also reduces the likelihood that the title will be decided by one isolated performance.

Three Weekends Will Decide the 2026 Championship

The WTCS Pro League Grand Finals will be divided into three stages, each dedicated to a different side of War Thunder’s competitive ecosystem:

  • Air Grand Finals: October 23–25
  • Ground Grand Finals: October 30–November 1
  • Mixed Grand Finals: November 6–8

Opening with Air competition immediately changes the demands placed on teams coming from the ground-based Major III. The following weekend returns the championship to Ground battles before the Mixed stage brings both sides of the game together for the final test.

Holding the Grand Finals across three weekends should make versatility one of the championship’s defining factors. A squad capable of excelling in only one discipline may produce an impressive individual run, but the eventual champion will need to remain competitive throughout the complete schedule.

The format also gives teams a short window to review each stage and adjust before the next one begins. Tactical preparation, vehicle selection and the ability to respond to rival strategies could therefore become just as important as mechanical performance.

Gaijin has not yet published the full Grand Finals format, prize distribution or broadcast timetable. Those details are expected in a separate announcement closer to the opening Air weekend.

Challenger League Major III Continues the Competitive Season

Although the Pro League regular season is finished, the wider WTCS calendar remains active. The first open qualifier for Challenger League Major III took place on September 19 and 20, while the second qualifier is scheduled for September 26 and 27.

Four teams advance from each open qualifier, creating an eight-team field for the playoff stage. Those playoffs will be contested across October 3–4 and October 10–11, giving aspiring teams another route to demonstrate their ability within War Thunder’s official competitive structure.

Challenger League broadcasts are scheduled to begin at 14:40 GMT on each competition day. Coverage is available through the official War Thunder Esports channels in English, German, French, Polish and Russian, with match replays and highlights also distributed through the official esports channel.

The Challenger competition provides an additional reason to follow WTCS before the Pro League finalists return in late October. It offers emerging rosters a platform to establish themselves while the eight qualified Pro League teams prepare for the most important matches of their season.

Major III Sets the Stage for War Thunder’s Final Battle of 2026

Voyager may have taken the last trophy of the regular season, but the biggest prize remains undecided. Its 126-point victory, Oskar’s MVP award and the strong performances produced by AVReS and DODEC have established an early hierarchy heading into the finale.

That order is not guaranteed to survive three weekends of Air, Ground and Mixed competition. The Grand Finals will demand more than a repeat of Major III, leaving all eight qualified teams with a genuine opportunity to define the conclusion of the 2026 War Thunder Championship Series.
