A packed live audience in South Korea transformed an ordinary developer broadcast into something much more personal. Digital Extremes has released a new highlights video revisiting TennoVIP 2026 in Seoul, an event that brought Korean Warframe players together for an evening of community activities, developer appearances and one of the year’s most important Devstreams.
The celebration was held alongside Devstream 197, not Devstream 187 as stated in the original video description. Broadcast live from Seoul on September 4, the presentation delivered the complete reveal of Iceblade of Narin, introduced Warframe’s first female ice-themed playable character and outlined several major additions arriving throughout September and October 2026.
TennoVIP Brings the Warframe Community Together in Seoul
Rather than hosting Devstream 197 from its usual studio environment, Digital Extremes took the broadcast directly to South Korea. The resulting TennoVIP event placed the Korean community at the center of the presentation, allowing attending players to share the occasion with members of the development team.
Warframe Creative Director Rebecca Ford and Community Director and Live Operations lead Megan Everett were joined by Soulframe Creative Director Geoff Crookes, Associate Art Director Rosa Lee and Korean host Will Chobra. The international panel helped connect the studio’s usual development presentation with the local audience in Seoul.
Digital Extremes’ highlights package looks back at the atmosphere surrounding the event rather than functioning as another conventional update trailer. It serves as a celebration of the players who attended, capturing the community-facing side of Warframe that exists alongside its constant stream of quests, playable characters and mechanical changes.
The decision to hold the event in Seoul also reflects the increasingly international nature of Warframe’s live community strategy. TennoCon remains its largest annual gathering, but regional events such as TennoVIP give players outside North America a more direct opportunity to meet the team and participate in a live reveal.
Devstream 197 Revealed the Iceblade of Narin Update
The headline announcement from Seoul was Iceblade of Narin, Warframe’s next major update. Scheduled to launch on September 23, it will introduce Narin as the game’s 66th Warframe and its first female character built specifically around ice-based abilities.
Designed as a swift fighter wielding a rapier, Narin combines Cold status effects with precision attacks, defensive recovery and aerial mobility. Her passive allows enemies killed while affected by Cold to drop elemental ammunition that temporarily adds Cold damage to weapons.
Her active abilities expand that playstyle in several directions. Narin can summon a barrage of swords to freeze enemies and make them more vulnerable to critical attacks, drain Cold status from frozen targets to restore Shields and generate Overguard, and take flight before crashing into a targeted area to freeze nearby opponents.
Her fourth ability turns combat into an elegant sword dance capable of striking marked enemies from a distance. Digital Extremes emphasized that the ability can flow into the aerial movement provided by her third skill, giving Narin a more mobile and expressive combat loop than players might expect from a traditional defensive ice archetype.
Narin will arrive with two signature weapons: the Nunchasa bow and the Aksondol dual pistols. She will also receive an alternate helmet, armor pieces and a dedicated emote for players interested in expanding their Fashion Frame collections.
Yuvan Peak Opens a New Chapter in the Origin System
Iceblade of Narin will also add Yuvan Peak, a new Earth node tied to events from The War Within. According to Digital Extremes, Narin froze the moment surrounding the player’s decision at this location to prevent the influence of the Zariman from spreading further.
The narrative connection places the update within Warframe’s continuing main storyline rather than presenting Narin as an isolated addition. Players will also reunite with Cephalon Melica, who becomes a vendor offering Classroom Supplies in exchange for a new resource called Entropic Kuva.
Entropic Kuva will be earned by defeating new Eximus enemies aboard the Zariman. Among Melica’s available items will be the blueprints required to build Narin, connecting the new character’s acquisition directly to the update’s missions and story setting.
Digital Extremes has warned that some of the content demonstrated during Devstream 197 was still under development. Specific mechanics and numerical values may therefore change before the September 23 release.
Glacial Defiance Expands Warframe to Six-Player Missions
One of the Seoul presentation’s most notable reveals was Glacial Defiance, an experimental high-level activity designed for six players. Squads will access these missions through Cephalon Melica at Yuvan Peak by using Cryobells found in the area.
Players will be able to complete Glacial Defiance up to three times each week, earning rewards associated with the depths of the Zariman. The larger squad size immediately distinguishes it from Warframe’s standard four-player missions and creates new possibilities for team composition and ability combinations.
Digital Extremes has been careful not to describe Glacial Defiance as a traditional raid. The studio instead characterizes it as an unusual cooperative experiment that emerged from a community proposal before being expanded internally.
Its launch alongside Iceblade of Narin was still described as an intention rather than an absolute guarantee during the Devstream. The team acknowledged that the mode could require additional development time and warned players to expect a potentially uneven initial experience while the concept is tested and refined.
Banshee Rework, Citrine Prime and New Customization Options
Narin was not the only Warframe featured during the Seoul event. Banshee will receive a substantial rework intended to make her abilities more lethal and fluid, alongside the new Threnodia Deluxe Skin, a matching Sentinel skin and a glyph.
To encourage players to test the redesigned character, anyone who logs in between September 23 and October 7 will receive a free Banshee Warframe and a built Forma. The promotion gives existing players an immediate way to experience the changes without having to acquire or rebuild the character.
Citrine Prime was also presented alongside the Steflos Prime and Corufell Prime. Her Prime Access cosmetics include the Sphatica Prime Syandana and several Spinele Prime facial accessories.
Additional reveals included the gargoyle-inspired Qorvex Basilica Deluxe Skin and five community-created TennoGen items. The update will also expand the Riven system with stat locking and new combinations, adjust mission selection for Deep and Temporal Archimedea, and improve hair and metallic material shaders.
Seoul Sets the Stage for Warframe’s Journey Toward Tau
The celebrations captured in the TennoVIP highlights arrive at an important moment for Warframe’s 2026 roadmap. Iceblade of Narin launches on September 23, but it is only the first step toward a much larger expansion of the Origin System.
Epoch Operation: Taubound begins on October 15, inviting the entire community to help prepare a route to the Tau System. Players will gather at a new Relay and contribute to Praghasa, while more experienced Tenno will gain access to additional Vessel-related gameplay.
Devstream 198 will follow on October 30 and focus on the first part of Tau. That makes the Seoul event more than a regional celebration: it represents the starting point for the next major phase of Warframe’s evolving story.
For the Korean Tenno who attended, however, TennoVIP was also an opportunity to place their own community in the spotlight. The new highlights video preserves that side of the event—the audience, the shared excitement and the sense that Warframe’s universe extends well beyond the screen.
