World of Warships has released the spotlight for the Dutch destroyer ZH-1, one of the latest additions to the naval roster, showcasing its combat performance and defining characteristics.
The ZH-1 is a Tier IX destroyer that stands out due to an unusual mechanic: the ability to launch airstrikes alongside its torpedoes and artillery. This combination turns it into a versatile hybrid, capable of dealing damage from various ranges and adapting to multiple battlefield scenarios.
Players can leverage these airstrikes to pressure enemies from safe positions, while utilizing torpedoes for ambushes and the main battery for support. This diverse toolkit demands a more tactical playstyle compared to traditional destroyers.
The ship also carries a compelling historical background, based on a destroyer originally designed by the Netherlands in 1938. Captured by the Germans in 1940, construction was completed in 1942 with several armament modifications. The destroyer served during Second World War and was eventually sunk during the Normandy Landings at the Battle of Ushant in June 1944.
The video provides a practical demonstration of this hybrid gameplay. The inclusion of airstrikes introduces a new strategic layer to World of Warships, sparking debate within the community regarding balance and combat potential.
Will you master this hybrid destroyer, or will you fall under its devastating fire?
