World of Warships Update 15.10 Sends a Modular Warship Into the Bermuda Triangle

World of Warships has a new ship that can draw enemy fire to protect an escort, send up attack aircraft or hunt with torpedoes, depending on how you fit it out. The Expeditioner is the centrepiece of Horror From the Abyss, a temporary seven-player PvE event introduced in Update 15.10. Over four weekly Operations, crews investigate a missing expedition, take on a cult’s navy and watch the geography of the Bermuda Triangle change around them.

The update also launches Early Access for the game’s first European cruiser branch, with seven torpedo-focused ships spanning Tiers IV to X. Two can be earned through the free Black Friday Event Pass, while the other five have separate Early Access routes. And for captains who just want to know what their team is up against, Wargaming has brought the most important battle information together on one screen.

Four Operations Take the Expedition Deeper Into the Triangle

In Horror From the Abyss, seven players fight computer-controlled enemies on behalf of the Seekers of Mu, a secret organisation investigating strange activity in the Bermuda Triangle. You can join through the event banner in Port or the battle-type selector. Everyone starts with the same rental ship, but the Expeditioner’s configuration can change considerably as players progress.

The opening Operation, Vanished Expedition, asks the team to secure key areas, find traces of the missing expedition and reach the evacuation zone. Madness Crusade shifts the objective to intercepting enemy transports carrying artefacts. In Origin of Terror, the roles reverse: your team escorts research ships to the central island and protects them while the scientists investigate. The final Operation, Harbingers of Doom, has the team stop cultist airships from reaching the temple.

Each Operation gets one week in Update 15.10. On the European server, the four begin on November 5, 12, 19 and 26, respectively. All four then return in a random rotation with adjusted scenarios during the first two weeks of Update 15.11, before the event ends on December 17 at 03:00 CET. They share a map, but some islands grow taller between scenarios, the surroundings darken, and a waterspout can damage ships that venture into its path. Familiar routes may look less inviting on the next assignment.

The Expeditioner Can Be Rebuilt Around the Job

The Expeditioner has five module categories: main battery, auxiliary armament, hull, consumable set and shields. Each has five branches. Players can mix them, so choosing a defensive shield does not commit the rest of the ship to the same setup. Relics, the temporary event currency, unlock additional branches, upgrades and Commander talents. The reward track handles module level-ups and talent slots separately. A level-up benefits every branch of that module, giving you room to experiment without starting from scratch.

The event changes what happens when you pull the trigger, too. Each turret heats independently. Reaching the right temperature can temporarily improve firing performance, but pushing past that point takes the turret out of action until it cools. Coloured indicators above the crosshair show how close each turret is to overheating. That creates a choice when an enemy transport is about to escape: keep firing while you have the shot, or give the guns time to cool so they’re ready for the next target.

Consumables let crews divide the work. Magnetic Pull draws nearby enemies’ fire, reduces the damage you take and improves main battery performance as potential damage accumulates. Restorative Smoke Generator heals the ship and nearby allies inside its smoke. An escort crew can use those tools to protect the transports while other ships concentrate on clearing the route.

Main and secondary objectives award Stars for the event reward track. Alongside ship progression, the track offers six permanent camouflages, the Shadow Blades enemy destruction effect and three Commanders with individual voiceovers: Pedro Lucero, Narrator and Nemesis. Winning any one of the Operations for the first time unlocks the event achievement.

Which European Cruisers Can You Get for Free?

The new branch represents Poland, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Sweden and Greece. The cruisers combine good concealment and speed with fast, long-range torpedoes. Those torpedoes take a while to reload, and the main guns can put out good damage only within a relatively short range. With thin armour and no Smoke Generator or Surveillance Radar, picking an approach and keeping an exit open will matter. The ships do get Repair Party, with an extra charge from Tier VIII.

Early Access route Ships
Free Black Friday Event Pass IV Dragon and V Kralj Petar I, the final reward on the free track
Paid Event Pass track VI Tre Kronor, awarded immediately when you unlock the track for 3,000 Doubloons
Armory sequential bundles or Europe containers VII Hel, VIII Kriti, IX Tirfing and X Vanadis

The free track also offers six standard Black Friday 2026 containers. The paid track includes Repulse B further along, so unlocking that track grants Tre Kronor immediately, while the British battleship requires more progress. On the European server, the Event Pass closes December 3 at 03:00 CET, even though the wider cruiser Early Access period continues until January 14, 2027 at 03:00 CET. The branch is scheduled to become researchable in Update 16.0.

The New Battle Screen Puts Objectives and Lineups Together

Before a match, the redesigned loading screen shows the team lineups, minimap and battle conditions together. A Details tab covers ship equipment and explains mechanics in more depth. Once the match is underway, holding Tab brings up the consolidated information without the minimap.

The change is especially useful in Operations. The screen shows the briefing and tracks the status of main and secondary tasks during the match. With Stars tied to both, a quick look can tell you whether the crew still has an optional objective to complete before heading for the evacuation zone.
