The Frontier War is no more. After decades of strife between the IMC and the militia created to destroy it, peace dawned on the distant space region known as the Frontier.

But freedom isn’t free: planets in the Frontier were ravaged by the conflicts, and the promised aids felt like a drop in the ocean. Without the means to sustain themselves, the poor souls that stayed had no choice but to abandon their homes. The bravest ones moved to the Outlands.

The Outlands, a remote cluster of planets on the Frontier’s borders, weren’t affected by the war, exhibiting bountiful resources and opportunities. However, life is of little value there, and danger lurks on every corner. Pioneers, explorers and outlaws used to spend their lives engaged in an endless cycle of power struggle — but now, they solve their differences in the Apex Games, a gory sport where legends from all the Frontier face each other for money, fame and glory.
