Disney Speedstorm Season 21 brings Mirabel, Luisa and Isabela to the track in Madrigal Miracle
30/07/2026 - 09:30
Disney Speedstorm is welcoming the Madrigal family to its expanding roster with Season 21: Madrigal Miracle, an Encanto-inspired update led by Mirabel, Luisa and Isabela.
The new season begins on July 30, 2026, introducing the three sisters through separate Tale events distributed across the update. Mirabel arrives first between July 30 and August 5, followed by Isabela from August 13 to 19 and Luisa from August 27 to September 2.
Each character represents a different Disney Speedstorm class.
Mirabel joins as an Epic Defender, Isabela is classified as a Rare Speedster and Luisa enters the competition as a Common Brawler. Their contrasting roles allow Gameloft to translate the Madrigal sisters’ personalities and magical abilities into three distinct racing styles rather than treating them as cosmetic variations of the same character.
The Season 21 trailer places their family identity at the centre of the presentation.
Mirabel carries the miracle of the Madrigal family into the race despite being the only sister without a conventional magical gift. Isabela fills the track with flowers and colourful plant life, while Luisa transforms her overwhelming strength into one of the season’s most physically exaggerated kart-racing sequences.
Madrigal Miracle also introduces Cards and Albums, two additional Super Karts, new Jungle Ruins tracks, a redesigned Events menu and the Lumina Fest celebration.
However, the season is not structured as a completely self-contained Encanto expansion. The Madrigal racers are the headline additions, but many of the update’s progression systems, Season Pass rewards and new tracks are connected to other Disney and Pixar collections.
Mirabel leads the season as an Epic Defender
Mirabel is the central character of Encanto and the first Madrigal racer scheduled to become available during Season 21.
Her Tale event runs from July 30 until August 5.
Gameloft has classified her as an Epic Defender, placing her within the class traditionally associated with stability, protection and resistance to interference from rival racers.
The choice reflects Mirabel’s role within her family.
Unlike most members of the Madrigal household, she does not receive a visible magical gift during her childhood ceremony. She cannot create flowers, control the weather, heal injuries through food or lift impossibly heavy objects.
Her defining ability is less literal.
Mirabel understands the emotional pressure affecting the family and becomes the person capable of protecting the miracle when the magical house begins to collapse.
Making her a Defender therefore represents her narrative role rather than attempting to invent a physical power she never possessed in the film.
She protects the family by recognising what it needs, even when the other Madrigals are too focused on maintaining their public image to acknowledge their problems.
The magical candle gives Mirabel a recognizable racing identity
The Season 21 trailer connects Mirabel’s kart to the candle sustaining the Madrigal family’s miracle.
The candle appears as part of her vehicle presentation, giving Gameloft a clear visual symbol around which to construct her racing identity.
This is an appropriate solution to the challenge of adapting Mirabel.
Characters such as Luisa and Isabela possess powers that can be translated directly into spectacular racing abilities. Mirabel’s lack of a conventional gift makes her more difficult to represent through one obvious mechanical effect.
The candle provides that missing visual centre.
It connects her to Casita, the miracle and the wider family without implying that she suddenly possesses one of her sisters’ abilities.
Butterflies and embroidered patterns also help distinguish her from other Defenders. Her design preserves the colourful details associated with her clothing while adapting them into the more aerodynamic racing suits used throughout Disney Speedstorm.
Gameloft has not yet published a detailed official breakdown of Mirabel’s Unique Skill through the general Season 21 patch notes.
The trailer establishes its visual theme, but exact durations, effects and differences between normal and charged activation should not be assumed until the complete gameplay information is available.
Mirabel’s Defender class could make her the most stable Madrigal racer
Disney Speedstorm’s classes influence statistics, dash interactions, Manual Boost generation and the Common Skills available to each racer.
Defenders are generally designed to maintain control under pressure rather than relying exclusively on maximum speed or aggressive contact.
That direction suits Mirabel.
She is not the physically strongest sister and does not possess Isabela’s ability to manipulate the environment. Her strength comes from persistence and her ability to continue moving when the family’s apparent perfection begins to fail.
A defensive racer can express that resilience through gameplay.
Mirabel may appeal to players who prefer maintaining racing lines, resisting disruptive abilities and recovering from chaotic exchanges rather than attempting to dominate every rival through direct attacks.
The exact quality of that playstyle will depend on her individual statistics and Unique Skill.
An Epic rarity does not automatically guarantee that she will outperform lower-rarity racers in competitive play. Disney Speedstorm’s balance depends on the interaction between class, skill effects, crew development, Star level and the player’s preferred tracks.
Her role nevertheless gives the Madrigal collection a reliable centre.
Isabela joins as a Rare Speedster
Isabela arrives through her own Tale event from August 13 until August 19.
She is classified as a Rare Speedster.
At first glance, the class assignment may appear less obvious than Luisa’s Brawler role or Mirabel’s defensive identity. Isabela is primarily associated with creating plants and flowers rather than extraordinary movement.
The trailer explains how Gameloft intends to connect those abilities to speed.
Flowers bloom across the track as Isabela races, turning her plant creation into a dynamic effect rather than a static environmental decoration.
Her powers can generate vines, blossoms and other vegetation almost instantly. That rapid growth gives the developers several ways to represent acceleration, track control or temporary routes without changing the fundamental identity of the character.
Speedsters are designed around forward momentum.
They benefit from systems that help them accelerate, extend boosts or create distance from the rest of the field. Isabela’s magical growth can be used to reinforce that momentum while also giving her one of the most visually distinctive racing trails in the roster.
Isabela’s flowers can make speed visible
A racing game needs to communicate acceleration clearly.
Players should be able to recognise when a character has gained additional speed without relying entirely on a number displayed in the interface.
Isabela’s flowers provide a natural visual language for that purpose.
Plants can emerge behind her kart, spread along the racing surface or surround the vehicle while an effect is active. The faster she moves, the more dramatic the resulting trail can become.
That approach fits the character better than simply surrounding her with conventional speed lines.
Isabela’s original gift allows her to create perfect flowers almost effortlessly. Later in Encanto, she discovers that her power is not limited to beautiful and carefully controlled arrangements. She can produce cacti, coloured powder and more unpredictable plant life.
A well-designed Unique Skill can reflect that development.
The normal and charged versions could potentially distinguish between elegant floral growth and more chaotic vegetation, although Gameloft has not yet confirmed the exact mechanical structure publicly.
The trailer establishes the floral presentation but does not provide enough information to define how those effects interact with rivals or the racing surface.
Isabela may benefit directly from the new Silkstrike Super Kart
Season 21 introduces the Silkstrike Kart, a new Super Kart created for Speedster racers.
Super Karts provide additional passive bonuses and an active ability separate from the racer’s normal Unique Skill.
Because Isabela belongs to the Speedster class, she falls within the category supported by Silkstrike.
This gives her access to another potential layer of acceleration and ability management beyond her individual kit, provided players unlock and equip the new vehicle.
Season 21 also removes the previous requirement that racers needed to reach three Stars before using a Super Kart.
Eligible racers can now use them regardless of their current Star count.
That change is particularly relevant to newly released characters.
Players will not necessarily need to develop Isabela through several Star upgrades before experimenting with the Silkstrike Kart. The vehicle still has its own unlock and upgrade requirements, but the racer’s Star level is no longer an additional barrier.
The interaction between Isabela’s Unique Skill and Silkstrike’s active and passive effects could make her one of the season’s fastest new combinations.
That outcome should not be assumed until both systems can be tested under competitive conditions.
Luisa enters as a Common Brawler
Luisa completes the Madrigal trio through a Tale event scheduled from August 27 until September 2.
She joins as a Common Brawler.
Of the three class assignments, this is the most immediately predictable.
Luisa possesses superhuman strength and is responsible for many of the physically demanding tasks performed within the Encanto. She moves buildings, carries livestock and supports structures that would overwhelm an ordinary person.
Brawlers are designed around direct contact and aggressive interference.
Their class identity rewards players willing to confront opponents rather than avoiding every exchange. Luisa’s physical power makes her a natural fit for that approach.
Her Common rarity should not be interpreted as a judgment on the character’s strength.
Rarity primarily influences acquisition and progression structure. It does not mean that an Epic Defender will automatically defeat a Common Brawler during a race.
Luisa’s effectiveness will depend on her statistics, Unique Skill, class bonuses and how easily players can develop her after the Tale event begins.
Surface Pressure inspires Luisa’s most extravagant trailer moment
The Season 21 trailer draws directly from Luisa’s musical sequence in Encanto.
During “Surface Pressure,” her imagined trials become increasingly surreal, including a group of brightly coloured donkeys and a winged donkey-unicorn creature carrying her through the air.
Disney Speedstorm adapts that imagery into her racing presentation.
The trailer shows Luisa’s kart participating in a similarly exaggerated sequence, using one of the film’s most recognisable visual jokes rather than limiting her identity to punching rivals or carrying heavy objects.
This gives her more personality than a generic strength-based skill.
Luisa’s physical ability remains central, but the animation also reflects the emotional fantasy surrounding her song. She imagines herself performing impossible tasks while attempting to hide how much pressure she feels.
The resulting sequence is humorous, dramatic and immediately recognizable to Encanto viewers.
As with Mirabel and Isabela, the trailer does not provide a complete mechanical explanation.
The transformation or airborne sequence may involve acceleration, temporary movement assistance or another active benefit, but its exact competitive function requires confirmation through the final skill description.
Luisa can use the new Lumina Super Kart
Season 21’s second new Super Kart is the Lumina Kart, designed for Brawler racers.
Luisa’s class makes her eligible to use it.
Super Karts add passive and active systems on top of the racer’s existing skills, potentially making Brawlers even more disruptive during close competition.
This creates a strong thematic combination for Luisa.
Her standard kit is expected to express physical strength, while Lumina can provide another method of increasing speed or affecting nearby opponents.
The removal of the three-Star requirement also applies here.
Players who obtain Luisa during her late-August Tale event can potentially equip a compatible Super Kart without first completing several racer progression stages.
Mirabel does not receive the same direct connection to either new vehicle.
Silkstrike is designed for Speedsters, while Lumina supports Brawlers. Season 21 does not announce a new Defender Super Kart.
This means Isabela and Luisa benefit more immediately from the update’s vehicle expansion than the season’s headline Epic racer.
The three sisters cover complementary racing roles
The selection of Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa gives the Encanto collection a balanced internal structure.
Mirabel provides the defensive option.
Isabela represents speed and momentum.
Luisa supplies aggressive contact and disruption.
This variety is useful for players who want to use an Encanto character without abandoning their preferred playstyle.
Someone who values consistency and protection can choose Mirabel. Players focused on maintaining the lead may prefer Isabela, while those who enjoy stunning and pushing rival racers have a natural option in Luisa.
The class diversity also makes the collection more suitable for team-based and restricted events.
Objectives requiring specific classes can be completed with different Madrigal sisters rather than forcing the entire collection into one category.
The obvious absence is a Trickster.
Bruno, Camilo or Pepa could potentially support that class in a future expansion, but Gameloft has not announced an additional Encanto racer beyond the three sisters.
Season 21 should therefore be evaluated according to its confirmed roster rather than assuming that every major member of the Madrigal family will eventually become playable.
Bruno remains outside the playable lineup
Bruno is one of Encanto’s most recognisable characters, but he is not included among the three Season 21 racers.
Gameloft has chosen to focus on Mirabel and her two sisters instead.
The decision creates a more coherent family group.
Mirabel, Luisa and Isabela share the same parents and represent three very different responses to the expectations placed on the Madrigal children.
Mirabel is excluded from the family’s magical structure.
Luisa feels responsible for carrying every burden.
Isabela is pressured to maintain an image of complete perfection.
Their abilities and personalities provide a natural three-character lineup, even though Bruno’s popularity could have supported another playable addition.
The restriction to three racers is also consistent with Disney Speedstorm’s more recent seasonal structure, which often adds a smaller core collection than the four- or five-character seasons used earlier in the game’s life.
Other members of the family may still appear through crew or cosmetic content, but a complete official Season 21 crew list has not been detailed in the primary patch notes.
Madrigal Miracle does not introduce an Encanto racing environment
Season 21 is inspired by Encanto, but the official patch notes do not announce a new track environment based on the film.
This is a notable limitation.
Casita, the Colombian mountains and the streets surrounding the Madrigal home could have supported a visually distinctive racing location. Magical doors, moving staircases, flowers and changing architecture would translate naturally into Disney Speedstorm’s more exaggerated track design.
Instead, Season 21 adds two tracks to the existing Jungle Ruins environment.
The update therefore expands an established collection rather than introducing an Encanto circuit.
This makes Madrigal Miracle primarily a character-focused season.
Players receive Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa, but they will race through environments already associated with other Disney properties.
The absence of a dedicated location does not reduce the mechanical value of the three racers, but it prevents the season from recreating the complete visual world of Encanto.
Earlier Disney Speedstorm seasons frequently combined new characters with a corresponding environment. Madrigal Miracle continues the newer model in which headline racers and track additions do not always belong to the same franchise.
Two new Jungle Ruins tracks expand an existing environment
The Jungle Ruins environment receives two additional track configurations during Season 21.
Gameloft has not positioned them as Encanto locations.
They expand the existing Jungle Book-inspired environment, giving players more layouts within a familiar visual setting.
Additional configurations can meaningfully change an environment even when they reuse its established assets.
Different routes alter the placement of corners, jumps, grind sections and shortcuts. A layout that rewards high Top Speed can play very differently from one dominated by technical turns and obstacles.
The two new tracks also increase the number of situations in which older Jungle Book racers and event objectives can appear.
However, their inclusion reinforces the broader identity of Season 21.
Madrigal Miracle is not entirely focused on Encanto. It uses the Madrigal family to lead an update containing systems and content distributed across numerous existing Disney collections.
The Madrigal racers arrive through staggered Tale events
Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa are not scheduled to appear simultaneously through one launch-day collection.
Their Tale events are distributed across more than a month.
Mirabel’s event begins with the season on July 30.
Isabela follows two weeks later on August 13.
Luisa does not receive her event until August 27.
This structure gives each racer a separate promotional window.
Players can focus on one sister at a time rather than dividing their attention between three overlapping debut events.
It also prevents the complete Encanto roster from being immediately available when Madrigal Miracle begins.
Anyone wanting to evaluate all three sisters together will need to wait until Luisa’s event arrives near the end of August.
The patch notes confirm the event dates but do not state that simply participating will automatically provide a fully developed racer.
Players should review the individual Tale requirements, reward tracks and available offers after each event becomes active.
The Season Pass does not contain the new Encanto racers
Season 21’s Pass structure is not centred on Mirabel, Luisa or Isabela.
Part 1 includes Carl Fredrickson and Frozone as its featured Season Pass racers.
Part 2 includes Russell and Fix-It Felix.
These characters come from Up, The Incredibles and Wreck-It Ralph rather than Encanto.
The Diamond Pass Max Out selections also draw from older collections.
Part 1 offers Winnie the Pooh, Nick Wilde, Mr. Incredible or Steamboat Mickey. Part 2 includes Tigger, Flash, Randall, Hector Barbossa or Stitch.
This creates a clear separation between the season’s theme and its main Pass progression.
Madrigal Miracle promotes Encanto through the new Tale racers, while the Pass is used to develop characters from across the wider Disney Speedstorm roster.
The model may appeal to players seeking older unlocks or additional progression opportunities.
It also means purchasing or completing the Season Pass should not be assumed to provide Mirabel, Isabela or Luisa directly.
Cards and Albums create a new collection system
Season 21 introduces Cards as a new collectible item type.
Players can place Cards into Albums and receive rewards for completing the available sets.
The initial season includes four collections released gradually: Aladdin, Mickey and Friends, Lilo & Stitch and Cars.
Encanto is not among the first announced Card sets.
Once again, the new seasonal system extends beyond the theme used in the trailer.
Cards can be obtained from Special Events and Packs available through the Shop. Some may only appear during limited-time events and celebrations, making complete Albums dependent on following the release schedule.
The system uses four rarities: Common, Rare, Epic and Mythic.
Mythic is a new rarity created specifically for the Card feature and represents the hardest type to obtain from Packs.
Players can inspect their Albums through the Profile menu and view the collections displayed by other users.
This gives Cards a social presentation function in addition to their reward value.
Duplicate Cards become Album Coins
Receiving a duplicate Card does not leave the player with an unusable copy.
Duplicates are converted into Album Coins.
The number of Coins received depends on the rarity of the repeated Card, with rarer duplicates providing greater compensation.
Album Coins can then be used to purchase additional Packs and unlock more Cards.
This creates a recycling loop intended to reduce the frustration associated with repeated random rewards.
However, conversion does not eliminate the underlying probability system.
Players may still need to open numerous Packs before obtaining one missing Card, particularly when completing Albums containing time-limited or Mythic items.
The value of Album Coins will depend on Pack prices, Card selection options and how frequently the game distributes free Packs through events.
The system adds another long-term collection objective to Disney Speedstorm, but players should distinguish cosmetic Card progression from racer development.
Completing an Album and upgrading a competitive racer consume different resources and serve different purposes.
Lumina Fest begins on August 24
Season 21 introduces Lumina Fest, a special Grand Prix event beginning on August 24.
The event is designed to provide relatively accessible unlock opportunities for Lightning McQueen, Go Go Tomago, Rapunzel, Ralph and Stitch.
New racing suits and additional rewards are also included.
The selected characters come from five different collections, reinforcing the update’s wider cross-franchise structure.
Lumina Fest appears intended to help players expand their roster rather than focus exclusively on the new Madrigal racers.
The event may be particularly useful to newer accounts missing characters required for Tournaments, Adventure Road or restricted objectives.
Gameloft describes the unlocks as easy, but the exact requirements should be evaluated once the Grand Prix becomes active.
Difficulty can vary depending on racer availability, event rules, leaderboard structure and the resources needed to convert an initial unlock into a competitive character.
Multiplayer Boost accelerates League progression
A new Multiplayer Boost system allows players to earn additional MPL Points while the effect remains active.
This is intended to help racers progress through Leagues and reach their associated rewards more quickly.
Daily bonus gifts are also available while Multiplayer Boost is active.
The system addresses one of the recurring challenges created by Disney Speedstorm’s large roster.
Progressing numerous racers individually through multiplayer can require substantial time, particularly when players are simultaneously developing newly released characters.
A temporary boost reduces part of that grind.
Its practical value will depend on how the effect is acquired, its duration and whether it can be maintained without premium spending.
The official patch notes confirm the progression bonus but do not provide a complete economic analysis of the feature.
The Events menu consolidates Tales and Grand Prix competitions
Season 21 redesigns the Special Events menu.
Tales, Grand Prix competitions and other ongoing activities can now be found within one unified tab.
This is a useful interface change for an update relying heavily on staggered events.
Players need to track Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa’s separate Tale periods, Lumina Fest and the wider set of seasonal activities.
Dividing those events across several menu areas could make time-limited rewards easier to miss.
A consolidated screen should provide a clearer view of what is currently available and when an event will expire.
The improvement does not alter event requirements or reward values.
Its purpose is navigation.
For a live-service game containing an increasing number of overlapping systems, clearer organisation can be nearly as important as adding another activity.
Season 21 expands Adventure Road and Zootopia content
Adventure Road gains The Little Mermaid and Cars collections during the new season.
Shan Yu and Mother Gothel are also added to Racer Boost.
The Supercharge selection expands with Jumba, Oogie Boogie, Genie, Beast, Tia Dalma, Moana and Zuse.
Zootopia receives the Season 21 Tournament and Vault Pass focus.
Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and Flash will be the featured Tournament racers.
These additions provide progression routes for older characters and collections while the Madrigal sisters occupy the season’s promotional spotlight.
The structure demonstrates how Disney Speedstorm now manages its roster.
A season does not only add three characters. It rotates access to previous racers, updates older progression tracks and selects established collections for new Tournament or Vault Pass activity.
Several older racers receive balance improvements
Season 21 includes buffs for Yzma, Shan Yu, Mr. Incredible, Ralph, Lightning McQueen, Maleficent and Moana.
Yzma receives increases to Top Speed and Acceleration.
Shan Yu gains the same statistical improvements and can now drift while using his charged Unique Skill.
Mr. Incredible’s Top Speed is increased. His charged Unique Skill provides a longer boost and fills the Boost meter more quickly.
Ralph receives improvements to Top Speed and Acceleration.
Lightning McQueen gains additional Top Speed, while the speed reduction experienced during drifting is decreased.
Maleficent now receives a boost when passing through the lightning created by her ability.
Moana’s normal Unique Skill has been reworked. Instead of performing several forward pushes, it now provides one initial push followed by a Top Speed increase scaling with skill level. The slowing waves remain part of the effect.
These changes may have a greater immediate competitive impact than the three new racers, whose final performance cannot be assessed until players obtain and test them.
Friendly races gain better rule control
Private Lobbies and Local Freeplay now allow players to enable or disable Crew Members and Supercharge.
This gives community organisers greater control over race conditions.
Crew and Supercharge bonuses can create substantial differences between accounts with different progression levels. Disabling them makes it easier to organise competitions focused more heavily on base racer behaviour and player execution.
Alternatively, groups can leave both systems active when they want the complete progression-based experience.
The option is especially useful for testing new characters.
Players can compare Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa without every result being affected by different Crew collections or Supercharge investments.
Season 21 ends support for older mobile configurations
Disney Speedstorm will no longer support devices running iOS 15 or earlier beginning with Season 21.
Players need iOS 16 or a later version to continue using the iOS release.
The Samsung Galaxy Store version is also being discontinued.
Users playing through that storefront are instructed to install Disney Speedstorm from Google Play and link their existing account.
These changes do not affect the game’s broader console, PC or supported mobile availability, but they create a mandatory transition for the affected players.
Account linking should be completed carefully before deleting an existing installation or moving to another device.
Madrigal Miracle is a character season rather than a complete Encanto expansion
Season 21 succeeds in giving Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa immediately distinguishable roles.
Mirabel’s Defender classification reflects her position as the emotional protector of the Madrigal family.
Isabela turns magical flowers and rapid growth into the visual language of a Speedster.
Luisa’s Brawler identity translates her super strength and the spectacle of “Surface Pressure” into direct racing aggression.
The limitation is that the rest of the season is considerably less focused.
There is no announced Encanto racing environment. The Season Pass features characters from other collections. Cards and Albums launch with Aladdin, Mickey and Friends, Lilo & Stitch and Cars sets.
Madrigal Miracle is therefore best understood as a broad Disney Speedstorm update led by three Encanto racers, not as a comprehensive recreation of the film’s world.
That approach provides more variety for the complete player base but leaves considerable unused potential within Casita and the surrounding Encanto.
Every Madrigal brings a different gift to the starting line
Mirabel, Luisa and Isabela work as a trio because none of them needs to race in the same way.
Mirabel brings resilience and the family’s miracle.
Isabela transforms beauty and plant life into speed.
Luisa turns strength, pressure and one extremely memorable donkey into physical momentum.
Their staggered Tale events give each sister a dedicated debut, while the Defender, Speedster and Brawler classes ensure that the Encanto collection covers several different playstyles.
Season 21 also introduces meaningful systems beyond its headline characters. Cards and Albums add another long-term collection layer. Silkstrike and Lumina expand Super Karts into two more classes. Lumina Fest provides new unlock opportunities, and the updated Events menu should make the growing schedule easier to navigate.
The lack of an Encanto track prevents Madrigal Miracle from feeling like a complete adaptation.
The racers themselves still capture the essential contrast at the heart of the film.
Every Madrigal believes they need to bring something exceptional to the family.
In Disney Speedstorm, they now need to bring it to the finish line.
